Nicely flammed, very old small Cello NR "Stradiuarius" needs repair!
Very old small Cello. I guess it is a 3/4 Cello. The label reads: Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonensis Faciebat anno 1736" I guess the instrument is not that old! The length is 111.5cm/ 44 1/8inch. The body is 68,7cm(27 1/4inch) There are cracks at the front and side, some of them seems to be repaired. The pegs are not complete. see pic) The scroll seems to be damaged, too.The back is nicely flamed. The side is very nice flammed, too. There Instrument needs to be serviced, repaired and cleaned. But being an antique violin, it would be worth investing in. The sides are split at the end-pin, top and bottom. The tailpiece cord ripped. There's no bridge connected, and it needs strings(adjusted) There are scratches on the finish of this violin. I will began by saying that I don't know anything about this violin so please ask all questions before bidding. The violin is in my opinion in good used condition. It has obviously been played alot but has been well cared for. It measures approx. 23 1/2" long and there is a sticker inside which says" copy of Antonius Stradiuarius made in Germany" This is a paper label which I have tried to show a photo of but as it is inside it is difficult. The violin comes in a very nice hard case with plush felt like zippered liner and two compartments whch hold the items shown in the photos. There is no damage except what you would expect from the usual wear you would see from an instrument of this age. The bow looks to be in good condition and appears to have a very hard wood on the ends with ivory as well. there is also what appears ... moreto be a conductors baton in the case next to the bow. I would guess that this is from the 1920's or so but really don't know. I have shown photos of everything that I think is important. Let me know if you need more photos of anything. Antique Stradiuarius Copy 4/4 Violin Anno 1736 W/ 2 Bow and Antique Case. Includes a 29" A Schroetter bow and an unmarked 27" bow. There are scratches and scuffs and the hair is worn. The violin is used with scratches. Scuffs and nicks. There is some slight separation occuring at the bottom. The tuning pegs seem to be in good shape. Fingerboard has some normal wear from age. The tailpiece, chin rest and bridge each appear to be in fair shape with wear. There is a sound post in place. Any cosmetic wear should be evident in the photos provided. The length of the violin is approx 23.5" and the body is about 14" The case has lots of wear and does not properly close any longer. I would recommend purchasing a new case. I have for your consideration a German made Conservatory issue violin. Violin is in very good condition considering the age. Label inside violin states"Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonenfis Faciebat Anno 1722 Made in Germany" It also has a circle on the label with"ATS" in it. The fact it doesn't state"copy of" may give a clue to its age I'm told. Violin is 23 1/2" long and 8" wide. Length of the back is 14" Pegbox and pegs work good and has fine tuners on tail piece. Fully lined and corners blocked. No open seams. One small crack. That may just be on the surface, just right of the saddle visiable in picture#1. Fiberglass bow is 29" long and doesn't show much wear. Hair is good and even. Please look at pictures and ask questions BEFORE bidding. I recently came across this violin from a friend of the family. The gentleman is 85 and was given this violin from his father many years ago, it sat in the basement in a case as he never had any interest in violins, so he offered it to me. I took to 1 person and was told if I invested $300 to restore it. That I could sell for $2000.00 +++ There is a picture posted of the name on the inside but there is no place of origin written. Also inside there is writing stating this violin was repaired in 1919. Included is also 3 very old antique bows(without hair) This is a great vintage piece that any violin player or collector would be proud to own. It had no strings or bridge and the neck had come apart from the body. There is a tiny chip on the chin rest which does not affect the use. Inside is an old paper label, signed"Copy of Antonius Stradiuarius Made in Austria" I carried it to my music store and asked them to repair it. I'm including the bill so you can see what has been done. The fiddle is very popular here in Southeast Missouri so I had a new set of Prelude strings put on it and a new bridge which is cut lower for fiddle playing. There is a new fine tuner on the E-string. It has all been cleaned and oiled. Pe gs were set and glued at the neck to hold it securely in place. The repair feels very strong. I found a repaired damage at one of the corners at the side of the violin.There is a crack at the middle of the front(open seam) The fingerboard is loose and the soundpost is ratteling inside. Professional quality full size violin made in the Stradiuarius style
This is a real beautiful full size professional quality violin. It has birds eye maple on the back. Ribs and neck and it olso has a soft oil varnish. There is a repaired saddle crack and no other repairs that I see. In the last photo you can see that a small piece of wood is missing from the bottom of the bass side sound hole. I see no other damage. The G string will need to be replaced. The back measures 14-1/8"X 8-1/8" There is no bow, but it will be shipped in a used case. Please ask questions.

It is marked Aubert and has a little bit of a different finish around it like there had been a repair. There are no cracks in the wood- a couple of little scratches around the edges. The flap storage in the front has a resin bag. There are 3 extra strings- D- E and G. The bow is very clean and in working order. The case is old but is nice. Selling an old Antonius Stradiuarius Violin. Made in Germany with label inside violin-fiddle. I can not visualize blocking inside but is very solid. The violin shows it's age with some wear and tear, two rubs or very small chips on two of its corners, this is a high quality model and is all premium tone woods, very flamed. There are no cracks at all. There are no cracks on the sound post or neck. The violin measures 25.5" long and the back is about 15" The violin still has it's old coffin case and that comes with it. So origin may be Czechoslovakian. The violin is fully stringed with a bright sound and 4 tuners for all strings. Making it perfect for the learner or beginner. Picture 4 depicts some scaring on the surface of the wood which appears to be the result of what may be previous repairs. On touch the surface above these scars is smooth and un-dented. From a mid 1800s Nebraska homestead. I wish I knew the entire trip this fiddle has been on. The family told me that the Grandfather was a musician back early in the 20th century. Well loved. Cracks me up because there are 2 rattlesnake rattles tied inside the body. I can imagine it being played at alot of shindigs or maybe even some good. Old fashioned Revivals. The violin/ fiddle has the paper label as shown, came in the ancient wooden coffin case shown, and had the original bow and the extra strings shown. I have made a slight error as I have had 3 bows stored in the case, 2 marked"GERMANY" and 1"BAUSCH" and I don't remember which was the original to this instrument. I am offering the best GERMANY with the package. The fiddle measures +/ 23-7/8" long. There is a split in the top. As shown. Missing quite a bit ... moreof the original finish. The bridge looks newer than the rest of the instrument and is marked"WIEN" The bow has M.O.P. inlay on both sides and needs new gut. Bow is 28-5/8" long. Coffin case is hand made and is held together by round head nails. Case is +/ 30-3/8"l x 9-7/8" at widest x 5-9/16" thick. Original black paint. There are also some rosin"rocks" inside. 3/4 Size Copy Antonius Stradiuarius Violin JGVCo Made in USA: Parts or Restore!
This instrument needs some TLC! A 3/4 size violin. It measures about 22" long total. The body is 13" long and 7-1/2" wide at the widest part. The wood and seams actually all seem to be in fairly good condition. It was difficult to get photos of the label inside the violin. But I tried. There is a circular logo that has JGVCo and Made in U.S.A. on it. The label reads"Copy Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 17" There is no bridge or chinrest. The fingerboard has been cracked or broken and repaired. But not the neck; the neck is fine. The strings all need replaced. Definitely some wear and scuffs. Up for auction is an antique Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonenfis Anno 1716 violin. That's what it also says on the inside label.And it is also followed by a symbol: a circle inside a circle, with a cross and an A on one side and a S on the other. The condition of the violin definitely shows its age. In the case,where the strings are at, it has a couple of words written,followed by the date 1914. The violin is missing a string, but there are back-ups in the case. Also, the name Stradiuarius on the label is spelled with a U not a V. Used 4/4 French made Stradiuarius copy w/bow/case
Take a good look at this very nice 4/4 Stradiuarius copy violin that was made in France. The inside label reads: Copy De Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonenfis Faciebat Anno 1721 made in France. The label also has a double circle with A S and an X above within the circle. I know nothing about the age except that it is far from being new. The only repair it needed was to the left F hole(see picture) Other than that. It has been refinished with new strings, chin rest, tailpiece, tuning pegs and bridge added to it. It is a full size violin with a body measurement of 14 inches and a full lenght of 23 1/4 inches. It has lots of volume and a great sound which comes in handy if you play in a bluegrass band. This beautiful violin has been refurbished and set up by a professional musician/luthier and will be ready to play upon arrival. The bow that comes ... morewith it is in good shape, measures 29 inches and has new hair. The hard shell case it comes in is in very good condition with very minor scuffs. All latches work and has a working keyed lock. All in all, this is a great package deal for a professional musician. I'll even throw in a new cake of rosin just for fun. Full Size Violin Copy of Anttonius Stradiuarius with Bow& Case Czechloslovakia Here is a great looking violin for your buying consideration. Probably made in the early 1900s. The violin has a label in it that says"Copy of an Antonius Stradiuarius. Made in Czechloslavakia" that I acquired at an auction recently. The violin appears to have a 1 piece belly and 2 piece back. The seams on both sides are sound and the soundboard and back are also tightly glued to the sides. Looks like there may have been a regluing of the back to the bottom side of the violin at one time. Certainly some scratches to the surface. Rosin left on the finish, some finish loss, but no cracks, splits or repairs that I see to report. Thin wood graining on the soundboard belly. Nice f hole and beak work. The purfling is painted on, not inlay. The sound post ... moreis up. All 4 tuning pegs are there. The fingerboard doe not appear to be made of ebony, but wood. No ridging going on that would impede the sound of the instrument when played. Expect that the strings that are on the piece will need replacing. The violin still has a nice light colored stain on it and most of the varnish over the stain is still there. There is one bow that came with this violin. The bow looks like it cracked and is repaired on the end away from the frog and adjusting screw(both are in good shape and have mother of pearl and silver plate) So expect the wood part of the bow has little to no value with the wood being split or broken. There is a older semi-soft case that latches work and the insides are worn. Comes with the extra strings and items show in one of the pics. well. The violin is 23.5" long. By 8.5" wide. Antonius Stradiuarius "1716" German Copy Violin (Fiddle) 4/4
This German"Strad Copy" has a label in it but is obviously not a real Stradivari fiddle. The violin has been repaired and restored by a professional and plays with great projection and a mysterious tone. The overal length is 23.5" the lower bout measures at 8.25" and the upper bout at 6 5/8" The"Strad Copy" was roughly made in the late 40's to mid 50's and had sustained some mold damage that was cleaned and propperly sterilized. There are no visible cracks or seams that have come unglued and has been equipped with Daddario strings and an aubert bridge. The violin will come with a case and an inexpensive bow. It too is in pretty ruff shape. I believe this is a child's violin, its about 23 1/2" long. The case is 30 3/4" long. This German CIRCA 1921 violin is in overall great condition. It produces a wonderful mellow tone. The front has a bit of wear on the varnish. But nothing unrestorable. The back and neck are in mint condition. It comes with an Aubert bridge made in France, a 1950's antique Roth case, a 1950's bow with authentic mother-of-pearl inlay(needs to be restrung) a new tailpiece, and a dampener for practice.

This is a nicely made violin by Ernst Reinhold Schmidt violin shop in Germany. I am going to venture to guess that this violin was made in the late 1800s to early 1900s. I see a couple of repairs that have been done on the soundboard side of this violin. One up on the right top(upper bout) that went down the side side by the upper block. Then another one emanating off of the right side of the lower block that goes about 3.5" up. Both repairs appear to have been done well and are tight. This violin has a one piece soundboard(belly) and two piece back. The two piece back has great flame or tiger striping. There certainly are some other minor dings and finish issues. But look ... moreat yourself in the mirror when you are 113 years old! The nut. Tailpiece, and end peg are still with the violin. Has an ebony fingerboard on it with no ridges that would impact string playing. Great purfling and scrolling on this violin. The 4 tuning pegs are there and they appear to match. Beaks all look good. The sound post is up. The violin seem to still be tightly glued together. There is a label in the violin that says"Copy of Antonius Stradiuarius. Made by E R Schmidt& Son, Markneukirchen, Saxony" Thru the other f hole it appears that someone wrote"1900" inside. And check out the beautifully done f holes on this violin! The violin is 23.5" long. By 8-3/16" across. The violin body is 14-1/8" long. When I purchased it, the violin still had some strings on it. Had a strong resonance of sound when I drew a bow across the strings. The violin also comes with a nice case that still has the lock key with it. Case has some finish issues to it, but still a nice hard case to protect this great violin. This certainly is not an original Stradivarius violin. It is a violin factory's reproduction of a violin that Stradivarius would have supposedly made in that year. The open face of the neck by the tuning pegs shows this violin has some real age to it. I would guess this violin was made between the latter 1800s. Up to the 1920s. Might even be before what I guessed above here, but you need to be the judge of the age of this violin. The beaks look good. The finish shows some wear and minor scratching. This violin has what appears to be a two piece belly/soundboard and a one piece back. The violin is solid. There are no cracks. Splits or repairs to the belly or back. The nut ... moreis not on the violin and the wood finger board has no ridges in it that would impair the violin's sound. Nice looking double line purfling that appears to be inked on, not inlaid. Tuning pegs on this old fella are all there and match. Nicely done scrolling on the violin. The label in the violin says. Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1728" and then the'A cross and S" sign that Stradivari utilized. Original Stradivari labels in the 1700s had only the"1" preprinted(the"7" on this one is as well) Also, starting in the early 1700's until his death Stradivarius utilized a roman"v" instead of a"u" for his first name. Plus the A S logo with the cross is preprinted and was not on the real labels. The sound post is up. The nut and end peg are there as well. The violin is 23.75" long. By 8-3/8" wide. The body is 14.25" long. I removed the old violin strings, so strings will need to be replaced. The hard case that comes with this bow and violin is in fair to poor shape. Fi ngerboard and chin rest have all become detached from the body and need to be glued back into place. Bridge is missing a nd the violin n eeds new stings. Two fine tuning pegs are missing. There is some separation at th e bottom and side of the belly. Some wear is presen t throughout. The bow has a s plit on e ither side of the fro g and tip cover is separated from the bow. Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonenfis Model Violin Dated 1736 with Bow and Case Here is a great violin for your buying consideration. I recently picked this violin at an auction. This certainly is not an original Stradivarius violin. It is a violin factory's reproduction of a violin that Stradivarius would have supposedly made in that year. The open face of the neck by the tuning pegs shows this violin has some real age to it. I would guess this violin was made between the latter 1800s. And the 1920s. Might even be before what I guessed above here, but you need to be the judge of the age of this violin. Seams of the violin body are still all tightly glued together, with the exception the back down just starting to the left of the end pin and for about 4" is loose from the side(rib) and will need a luthier's attention to reglue. The ... morebeaks look good. The finish shows some wear and minor scratching and of course that rosin residue that a earlier lazy player did not clean off. But nothing that should impede its' original sound. This violin has what appears to be a two piece belly and a one piece back. The violin is solid. There are no cracks. Splits or repairs to the belly or back. The nut is not on the violin and the wood finger board has no ridges in it that would impair the violin's sound. Nice looking double line purfling that appears to be inked on, not inlaid. Tuning pegs on this old fella are all there and match. Nicely done scrolling on the violin. The label in the violin says. Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonenfis" than a newer label over a part of it from"B. C. Strandqvist Musikhandel Helsingborg" then the rest of the original label that shows says, no 1736" and then the'A cross and S" sign that Stradivari utilized. Original Stradivari labels in the 1700s had only the"1" preprinted(the"7" on this one is as well) Also, starting in the early 1700's until his death Stradivarius utilized a roman"v" instead of a"u" for his firs
