Antique 1920 C.G.Conn Black Bakelite Clarinet Elkhart. Indiana, with original Hard Case. 1. This clarinet is pre owned. But it is in great condition, with normal signs of wear and time and age. It comes with original hard case that opens and closes properly. 2. It has a serial number B58864L. It also has another information as 6 mm.S. 3. In the mouthpiece is engraved 2. Perfectone. Elkhart. IND and it comes with a metallic additional protection. 4. The bell reads as Trade Mark. With a big US eagle symbol in the middle. 5. I am not an expert in musical instruments. So, I cannot play it to know if it sounds correctly, but, I just provided a lot of pictures for those expert buyers. 6. This instrument needs to be cleaned by a professional since it was obtained from a collector in a large estate sale. 7. The case measures 13 ½” wide x 3 ½” ... morehigh x 8 ½” deep approximately. It is too hard taking measurements of the instrument. So, if you have a better idea, please let me know. 8. Model number is stamped on bell as# 121575. It is 100% unrestored original and complete. A very beautiful musical work of art. Excellent workmanship and crafting. The clarinet has no damage. Looking for a good clarinet for a student? This may be for you. These silver Cavalier clarinets were sold by the Conn Company. Edit: I originally thought this was made about 1918. However someone with more info has dated this to the 1930s. Serial number 47498 Marked"Cavalier Elkhart Indiana" I do not play the clarinet so I could not test this instrument. But all keys seem to work so it should be playable. Mouthpiece included(no reeds included) A couple small dings/ scratches. But overall, a very presentable instrument. Has been polished recently. But could use a touch-up, this would really bring out the shine. Case has scuffed corners. But is very solid and usable. Case lining in good shape. Shipping to U.S. addresses only. RARE 1920s ANTIQUE HARRY PEDDLER& CO PREMIER CLARINET& CASE SILVER CLARINET FROM AN UPSTATE NEW YORK ESTATE WE HAVE A RARE ANTIQUE HARRY PEDDLER& CO PEDDLER PREMIER CLARINET& CASE SILVER METAL CLARINET CIRCA 1920s Right out of the Roaring 20s.the clarinet is a silver metal nickel silverplate and measures approximately 26 1/2" tall Etched on the bottom is The Peddler Elkhart Ind. Premier Harry Pedler& Co was in operation from 1919 until 1930 in Elkhart. Indiana. They mostly produced clarinets made of wood or hard rubber, but they made just a few high quality silver clarinets. When Harry Pedler retired the company was sold to Martin. And countless cheap metal clarinets were produced by Martin under the Pedler brand; with model names like"The Pedler" Premiere" American" Hoosier" and"Custombuilt" ... moreamong others including a lot of"Stencils" These were the typical very cheap metal clarinets of the day that were designed for kids. But those metal clarinets made under direct supervision of Harry Pedler himself were far from the cheap student variety, and include some of the finest silver clarinets ever made. The professional quality silver clarinet made by Pedler used a fine metal with bell-like qualities. The construction can be compared to Selmer with a thick metal body. And expert craftmanship; but the Pedler is perhaps a better clarinet than the metal Selmer because there are less problems with the tuning barrel, and the Pedler seems to be preferred by jazz players. The case is a hard black case with purple felt on the inside. It is 22 1/2" long by 3 3/4" wide and 3 1/2" tall. The top has a metal label Wood Wind Peddler Elkhart Ind. 2 flip closures on the each side with a button lock closure in the middle. We do not have the key. Brass hinges on the back. Up for auction is this Bb LP Albert system clarinet by A. Lefevres of Paris. Dates to c. 1915 and is grenadilla wood with nickel silver keys. A.578" bore and measures 23 1/4" from bell to top of barrel. It is in great vintage condition, with good tenons and chimneys, although it has repaired hairlines in barrel(common for this vintage) and a faint stable hairline under the ring on the lower section. It has been disassembled. Body soaked in oil, bore polished, keys swedged and countersunk(to remove lost motion) body and keys buffed, all new Precision leather pads and cork installed, and reassembled and adjusted for optimal playability. Antique Vintage c.1920s Wood Clarinet for Restoration or Display
Aside from a few years playing in junior high school I know little about clarinets. This was my grandfather's and he played in the U. S. Marine Band during or shortly after WWI(I haven't been able to document the exact years) He was born in 1898 so my guess is he played it about 191 7- 3 0. There is no mouthpiece. The pads and corks are in poor shape. All keys and mechanical parts seem to work fine. Tot al assembled length without mouthpiece is 24 3/4 inches. I am selling this as a vintage antique instrument for restoration. Parts or display only in"as-is, non-working" condition. I'm sorry I can't identify the brand. Country or key. Markings are hard to read- all I can find is a faint block letter L on the top of the upper key section a nd a serial number 14380 on the b ell. Old Antique Weymann Metal Clarinet, w Wood Case, etc. Long, Open Hole Style
Here's an interesting old or antique musical instrument we received with some estate items recently. This one is in it's original case with some accessory pieces as shown. The clarinet is an open hole type with metal body and about 26.5 inches in length when assembled. The markings are"Weyman" and"Premier" and"Phila. PA" My guess is this is from the early 1900's. The silver finish to the metal body of this is worn away at the top of most of the keys from use. The bell is about 3 inches in diameter and slightly misshapen from use over the years as shown. As far as we can tell all the levers work properly on their springs. Not sure how good the pads are, don't play. There are some older reed cases with this and one that looks fairly modern so it appears that this instrument was in use up till more ... moremodern times, perhaps the 80's or 90's but still seems to have been stored for many years recently. The case is made of wood with a black fabric cover. The fabric has worn at the edges over the years revealing the wood beneath. The latches all work properly on the case and the handle for the case is made of wood as well. The case interior could use some cleanup and has a slight musty smell. The instrument could use a little light cleanup to look it's best. There is a music holder with this as well. The mouthpiece section slides on and off well and fit snuggly but the seal seems to be something homemade as it is not cork so we'll mention this. Signs of use and age but not signs of abuse or damage of that type. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this antique Weymann metal body clarinet low so enjoy the auction. Antique G. Pruefer Professional Model clarinet serial number 11691 dates this piece between 1900's to 1920's. The clarinet is a combination of black ebony wood pipes and bakelite mouth piece. Barrel, and bell. All stamped and matching serial. Keys all works and moving. Needs a good clean up. Corks are all tightly fitted. The original mouth piece is missing a cork. It comes with two extra Geo M Bunchy#3 mouth piece, two packs of Levy-Page reeds, grease, and cleaning gear, and extra reed clamps. This old wooden clarinet is stamped EVETTE SPONSORED BY BUFFET PARIS FRANCE within an oval. The two longer pieces are stamped with a serial number A2010. The mouthpiece is black plastic(neither the mouthpiece nor its cover are marked) It is housed in an old case with maroon plush lining. I do not know much about musical instruments so please ask any questions well in advance of the auction’s ending. There is a pre-zipcode(1963) foil label for an instrument repair business on the inside of the case- it probably hasn’t been serviced since. When closed the case measures about 13.25" x 6.5" x 3.75. Please keep in mind that the price includes shipping- this item will weigh 5 lbs once wrapped. Condition: I do not see any cracks in the wood. The metal parts have very minor discoloration or corrosion. The pads that are visible are very ... moreold and yellowed and the corks are obviously old- they do not feel dry(waxed? All of the keys seem to work but I cannot judge how playable the clarinet is. The plush lining of the case is worn and discolored and very slightly musty(I do not detect an odor unless I put my face right next to it. The handle and latches are secure(I do not have the key to lock it) although the metal fittings for the case are rusted/corroded and the case exterior has moderate wear consistent with age and normal use. ANTIQUE Noblet Eb Clarinet COMPLETELY RECONDITIONED! RARE! Great INTONATION!
This is a very old. French-made Eb Sopranino Clarinet in incredibly fine condition! I am a professional clarinetist(auditioning for the Metropolitan Opera in two months) and I can say that this is one of the most incredible instruments I have ever had the pleasure of performing on! The grenadilla m'pingo wood is extremely dense. But in fantastic condition! The density helps"reign-in" the Eb Clarinet's famously bright/brilliant sound, for a mature and elegant sound with a lush, deep, large overtones, but still with plenty of"ring. I have a number of vintage and antique instruments(saxophones from the 20s, metal clarinets from the 1900s, I even perform on a 1968 R13 Bb and a 1985 Festival A) and for the time I believe this instrument was around(anywhere from the 1910's through the 50's, but probably between the ... more20's and 40's) it has FANTASTIC intonation! I know I said it in the title, but for Eb clarinet, timbre and intonation are the two most important factors(you don't want something super-bright, and you also don't want something with wonky tuning! Altissimo intonation is fantastic as well! Come up with some good"throat tone" fingerings and you're literally set! You may be wondering why I want to part with such an unbelievable Sopranino with such a history(in fact. Noblet was purchased by Leblanc sometime around 1903, but the original factory and craftsmen were used through the 90's) but the fact of the matter is, as a musician attempting to specialize in orchestral Eb clarinet performance, I recently purchased a Buffet Tosca Eb clarinet, with the best intonation on any Eb I've ever heard! This is because they just came out with it last year- however, I still say the sound on this Noblet is perhaps better! The keywork was entirely reconditioned by my good friend Levi at RDG Woodwinds in West Hollywood. CA(he also worked on the horns of the legendary, recently-deceased Lorin Levee of the LA Phil) and it is some of the best keywork I've felt

The clarinet received new pads(white leather pads) few years ago. It plays well at somewhere between 436/440Hz. The clarinet comes in its original case. BC are the intials for the CUNDY-BETTONEY Co. Metal clarinets made by BC are known for being well-made student model metal clarinets and are popular brands. Metal clarinet's date back to the early 1800's. All but a few compan ies stopped manufacturing them in the 1930's. They are favored by jazz musician's because of their unique tone. I play enough to test a clarinet and it plays all of the notes in a scale. Up and down in both octaves and all of the keys move. The last two notes are harder to play. The pads aren't new but many of them look ... moregood; some have more wear. The silver plate finish shines. I polished the easy-to-reach places and will leave polishing under the keys to the buyer. It has no dents. It includes the barrel/neck to attach a mouthpiece to the instrument. The cork at the top of the clarinet where the barrel attaches is good. It comes with the original mouthpiece marked"H. BETTONEY. BOSTON" with a cover(no ligature) The cork on the mouthpiece is good. It comes in a decent original"H. BETTONEY CADET" hard case. The brown exterior and plush red interior fabric have normal wear. The latches work and the leather on the handle has been removed and the handle is taped. Don't let this antique gem get away! It's in good condition and it plays. After adjusting the 2 bottom keys it'll be fully ready to make beautiful music. It's a perfect gift for a band student. Musician, or collector! Up for auction is this Bb Albert system clarinet by Wurlizter. Marked'France' Dates to c. 1920 and is grenadilla wood with nickel silver keys and a bore of.575" It is in great vintage condition, with sharp tenons and chimneys. It has been disassembled, body soaked in oil, bore polished, keys swedged and countersunk(to remove lost motion) body and keys buffed, all new Precision leather pads and cork installed, and reassembled and adjusted for optimal playability. Antique 27" Martin Fres - Paris - Clarinet ~ Parts or Restoration
Found at a local estate for your consideration. Sorry I do not know anything about the age but the condition is as shown. Here's what I noticed: The large bottom piece has a crack and large chip. Each segnent is wrapped in string and when assembled are not tightly fit. Unsure if all the brass in intact. The total length when assembled is 27" See photos for details. Sold AS-IS. NO Returns.
