From 1925 they were marked MADE IN GERMANY until they ceased making them in the 1940s. This one is marked MADE IN SAXONY- so it dates mid-1920's at the latest- but could be much earlier! These were manufactured for FRANK ALBERT of ALBERT'S MUSIC STORE CHAIN in Australia. Possibly they were tiny Salesman's Samples or Advertising Novelties or for Children. This is a genuine'tiny' version of a larger antique Boomerang Harmonica. It was made the same. Looks the ... moresame, works- just on a smaller scale. Thorens Disc Music Box, clockwork open movement
Thorens music box. An early open movement version from approx 1915, made in Switzerland. In working order but could do with some replacement combs to sound better. Reproduction combs are available, there are 30 teeth to this comb and it measures 42mm. The disc is 115mm across and plays Edelweiss. Mounted on timber, the music box is in generally good condition and really just needs a little bit of love and cleaning, it looks superb though, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. In blue& white attractive graphics the edges of the paper have some thumbing. Dogears, a small split left hand side& a larger on the right hand side. Some creasing& a pierced section beside the word"To" in the title but it's mainly on the back. Once framed most of these flaws won't be seen. It's very clean for it's age with no foxing. This Original"Allan's" Music Roll is for old time music players(or pianola's) The roll is 30 cm wide and the box is 31 cm by 5.5 cm by 5.5 cm. The music on the roll is unknown. The artist is Lee S. Roberts. As shown on the roll. It is in good condition however the paper on the roll is torn at the end but is still playable. The box is also worn on all surfaces. Edges and corners.
