Vintage Ships Binnacle Compass Oil Lamp Converted to Electric Nautical Maritime
This is a great find. This is an authentic vintage ships binnacle compass with built in oil or gas lamp. But this one has been converted to an electric table lamp. The little side cubby that would originally hold the oil now holds a small bulb and of course, another bulb at the top. Mounted on a nice wooden base, felted bottom. The compass/dial has been set so it does not move. I left the wonderful patina, but it could be cleaned and shined. I find no dings or dents. Vintage Bow Mounted Ship Lamp NAUTICAL GREEN AND RED OIL LAMP with BURNER
Up for bid is a vintage bow marker light fixture complete with oil burner made by Kilborn-Sauer Co. Out of Fairfield, Connecticut. The body is galvanized and top is brass. The top has written on it KILBORN-SAUER CO FAIRFIELD CONN U.S.A. The body is in good condition. Near the top rear the lip has small tear. The brass top has a small crack where it attaches to the galvanized metal. No cracks visible in glass but both pieces have several chips on the external ribs. The burner looks to be in working order and the wick screws up and down. You can use kerosene or bottled lamp oil that is easy to find. The tank appears clean and dry( I have not added oil to it. A small flash lite was temporarily inserted to show the colors of the lens) The burner twists counter-clockwise out of the bottom for easy refill and wick replacement. Vintage Nautical Weighted Oil Lamp, Gimbal-Mount Brass Boat Lantern w/ Chimney
Antique Brass Ship's Oil Lantern. Looks like it was never used. Very nice condition; only one small dent in the wick assembly. And that can probably be pushed back from behind the guard very easily. There is no maker's mark or logo on the lamp. But there is an"RV" and an anchor on the wick turn knob. The glass chimney appears to be original to the lamp. Dimensions: 12 7/8" overall. 5 3/4" from back of mounting plate for the gimbal to the outside of the lamp. Chimney measures 6 7/8" in height and is 3 1/4" in diameter, the lamp body measures 7 1/2" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter and 4 1/4" total width including the gimbal mounting pins that project 3/8" from either side of the lamp body. This 16 1/4" tall electric lantern with an all original patina and toggle switch is from the estate of Howard Craven. He was a ship captain for the Gulf Oil Company until he retired in the early 1950's. When he then took up painting ships with oil on canvas. His father was also a ship captain, so I'm not sure which one used this lantern. It is all copper than I can see. It would be beautiful polished up, but I chose to leave it as is for those of you that would prefer it in it's original condition. Here are two very old miner lights. The first one is just under 4 inches tall. The maker is“Justice, made in USA, pat May 7, 1912 others pending” It also has an on and off switch. All switches can move around and the bace does unscrew from the top. Has lots of patina. The second one is Auto-lite Reg. U.S. Pat office” Universal Lamp Co Chicago USA” There is an on off switch also. Which moves freely. Very unusual pair of vintage brass maritime lanterns with beautiful patina. These lanterns are in very good shape with oil lamps intact and operable. I have tested the wick adjustment and they both work as intended. They measure App. 6" x 6" x 15 1/2" in height. I have provided several images for your viewing and they should be considered part of the description. I was told these were made around 1920's or 30's and it is very unusual to find a matching pair. One lantern handle is missing a brass screw and both lantern tops have minor bends in the sheet metal mentioned for accuracy only. It really does not take from them at all. Glass on both is also intact and unbroken. I provided an image with the lanterns lit with tea lights to show the charm they have when lit. Very nice pair of brass port and starboard oil lamps. I dont see any markings on either of them. May or may not be antique. Would look great cleaned up. I have not used them so cannot 100% guarantee that they work. Wicks look good. And move up and down. I do not see any holes in oil containers. Red coloring is flaking off of the port lantern. Threaded cap has several superimposed letters engraved in it but I can't make them out and I didn't want to destroy the cap's patina by cleaning it. Well used with small shallow dents. Pair of Vintage Antique Brass Perko Marine Ship Oil Lamp Lanterns Port Starboard
This listing is for a pair of Vintage Antique Perko Nautical Marine Ship Port and Starboard Oil Lamp Lanterns. Both lanterns are marked Perkins Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. Perko Brooklyn. NY, USA. The lanterns are in good shape for their age and the lanterns themselves stand about 9 inches tall. They do have some dents and dings towards the tops of the lanterns but the glass has no cracks and is in good shape. They do have alot of oxidation, minor on the outside and major on the inside. I was not going to clean them because I did not want to discolor them but they will hopefully clean up very nicely if cleaned properly. In the last picture you can see one hinge is slightly bent so it is a little harder to close and open that side of the lantern but each opening on the lanterns do lock. Weems Plath Brass Oil Lantern Lanterns Pair Vintage Gimbal Lamp Pair Vintage
These were hanging on the inside of a house from probably the 80's or 90's. Made in Taiwan. Approximately 10" tall. And 3 1/2" across the base. I don't think these have ever been polished. The top of them has more rust or dullness than the rest of it. One is numbered 20535 and the other is 20669. Each weighs about 4 pounds with the gimbal.
