ANTIQUE NAUTICAL SHIPS LIGHT LAMP - SHIP SALVAGE- RARE
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This light was purchased at an estate sale where most of my other auction listing came from.I was told by the folks selling that this was a ships lamp or light and would have been in a cabin onboard a ship. I cannot find any others to compare it to on ebay and there are no markings on the light other than on the socket inside the lamp and on the side as shown are the letters P&O. I am not sure if this was a gas type light or not. Although it has a socket where a bulb or something would have fit but on the side of the light it looks like a flint or sparker. The light will need the chrome trim cleaned.Sorry I am not much help here, please see the pictures and maybe someone out there can tell me more. The works are mounted on a nice piece of oak and there are exposed wires etc on the back. It appears ... morethe glass is missing however the clip holder to hold the glass guard in is in the metal hood. The metal hood is hinged and has holes to let the heat escape. Up for auction is this old P ERKO ships lamp. It must be the largest lamp made by Perko. It stands an impressive 2 4" tall. With handle raised. M easures 11 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" deep. This could have been a cargo lamp. Steaming l ight. Anchor light, or a stern light. Not really sure. Somewhere on it's journey it was electrified and has a bulb inside and the burner is not present. It has a thick Fresnel lens that is turning purpl e with age and it has a crack in it that is stable. Doesn't detract much from the old lamp. Still displays beautifull y.With a r ich patina that adds to the salty character. This Perko lamp was made in Brooklyn. New York a long time ago and after being at sea for many years. Not sure but makers family member said it was zinc. he said his father manufactured these in chicago years ago and that this was the actual prototype. i have seen similar ones made from glass here on ebay and the family did own a glass factory. this one is all metal and no glass. i did not plug it in to test the lights.

Rare 1800s Miller Brass Binnacle Ship Hand Oil Lamp w Eisinglass Front EXCELLENT
This auction is for a very rare Miller brass binnacle hand lamp. The bottom removes with an oil lamp base with a simplex wick holder. It is signed E Miller Company made in USA and has a brand new wick. The oil lamp locks into the base. It has vent holes at the bottom and the top. It has a wood carrying handle and an Eisinglass/ isinglass front that is still intact. The lamp measures 8 ¼ inches with the handle up and 7 inches with the handle down and measures 2 ¾ inches in diameter. A ships binnacle lamp has no steel anywhere in it. It is made of all brass so that it would not interfere with the ships compass. This is a very rare piece, don't miss this opportunity to add this to your collection. Made in England for the colony of Newfoundland and used I believe on the coastal boats that delivered goods and services around the coast of Newfoundland before the present roads were built. As you can see from the pictures this was a working light used to light the compass on the sailing boats. The brass is very worn. The handle which is brass with an insert are skewed and have been like this since I acquired them and I would guess its from heavy usage in all kinds of weather The lantern is all original with original doors and clasps and glass. It also has the original oil burner with ceramic ... morewick holder. The wick turner is very stiff and probably needs oil. The burner is signed and trademarked Barton's(England) 9 3/4” from base to top of handle the base is not square but rather a circle with a flat front measuring approx 2 7/8 from front to back and 3 2/8 from side to side. We are located in Canada midway between Ottawa and Kingston in Ontario just one hour from the New York border Round trip to Ogdensburg New York is 120 miles round trip by car. Please be patient. This is a pretty amazing find. This ANTIQUE BRASS CANDLE LAMP HER MAJESTY’S ADMIRALTY SERVICE is believed to be from the early 1900’s or possibly even from the late 1800’s. There are plenty of pics to help you understand this item. The emblem soldered on the front says“ H M ADMIRALTY SERVICE. The bulbous bottom part unscrews to reveal a large spring. That is removed. A candle is inserted, and the spring& bottom are re-installed to continuously place upward pressure on the candle. That way, as the candle burns down it is continuously being pushed up. There is an old looking candle stub still in the top in the normal use position, we left it in place. You will notice a permanently attached bracket for hanging on a cabin wall or bulkhead on a ship. The candle lamp has a great old brass patina. You will notice solder at various places. Some ... moreappears to be from the original making of the lamp and a couple might be repairs or just sloppiness by the maker. None of the brass looks like it has been damaged. The lantern is in amazing shape for it’s age. The bottom is flat enough that the lantern can be used sitting on desk, table, or counter. There apparently was once a glass chimney but we never saw it. I would imagine the new owner could find one to fit if desired. We have never seen another one of these in 20 plus years of buying& marketing antiques& collectibles. RARE Antique New England Whale Oil Ship's Lamp With Blue Fresnel Lens
This beautiful ships lamp measures approximately 16in.x9in. and was found in a seaside barn in Massachusetts. The lamp has a heavy blue/green fresnel lens in two pieces joined by some type of fiber caulking. The body and lens cage are made from a heavy metal and are painted aqua-green. There are a couple of chips in the seam of the lens but is otherwise fine. The overall condition is fair with some rust and pitting that could be cleaned and reprinted if desired. There is no sign of wiring so I assume this was meant to be lit by oil. I have never seen a similar lamp and can find no maker's mark. This is a rare antique bronze conversation piece. Works wonderfully. Eyes light. Bulb in bronze pipe lights. Lamp hangs on the wall. There is a bracket on the back for hanging. There is a button on his chin where you can turn him on and off. Also a switch on the lamp cord. When lite his eyes are blue. You can change his bulb in pipe to also orange or yellow. I have white in bulb in at this time. Wood plaque that bronze is mounted on is in nice condition. The lamp measurements are 9 inches high by 8 inches wide.

I have a rare and unique and very cool looking Mid-Century all metal with glass globes. Nautical Ship Table Lamp. This lamp is made to look like a sailing ship with sails. It is constructed with metal and has three amber dimple globes. This lamp lights up and works perfectly. The lamp stands an incredible 40 inches tall and 24 inches wide. This brass hanging bulkhead ship's lantern is a rare example of the workmanship and quality of Wm. Harvie& Co. Ltd. Birmingham, England, one of the largest and finest nautical lighting manufacturers at the turn of the 20th century. Dating to around 1900, the lantern has a detachable kerosene burner and hand-blown font. Except for the wick, everything on the lantern is original. Measuring 17 inches tall. Excluding the ring handle. The lantern is marked with a plaque on the domed top. It reads, Wm. Harvie& Co. Ltd. 121 Bishop Street, Birmingham. It is substantial. Weighing over 5 pounds. Was made by the U.S. LIGHT HOUSE DEPOT 31st St LAMP SHOP STATENISLAND N.Y. as stamped on front of can. Condition is excellent no breaks is very solid dose have two small dents on bottom edge as shown in listing photos. Has graduated measures stamp on one side of can. These cans were used by lighthouse keepers back in mid 1800s to fill the oil lamps before the U.S. coastguard took them over. RARE Antique Merrill Nautical Instruments Binnacle Lamp Maritime
This is a rare Merrill Nautical instruments of New York binnacle lamp in remarkable condition. I have been unable to find any other lamps made by Merrill. However Robert Merrill was a famous maritime compass maker from New York State in the late 19th century and I believe this may have been made by his company. It features an ornate chimney on top and also ventilation holes on the bottom. There are two handles on the back and a plate with the makers name. The lamp has the original glass and what looks to be the original burner. The hinge on the burner door needs repair, but does lock and hold closed. The lamp is beautiful with a nice age worn patina. Just out of a local house is this Rare antique William Porter's Son and Co. binnacle lamp. The lamp is all brass and has a half round design. It is fitted with its original whale oil burner. These were made and advertised for use in steamboats of the period. The lamp measures 9 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches wide. The front measures 6 7/8 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is in excellent condition for its age with only some lines in the brass cap on top and the font looks like it may have leaked. See photos. The lamp is nicely marked with the makers tag of William Porter's Son and Co. 194 Water Street New York. A similar example is pictured in William Porter's and Sons 1891 catalog and lists this one as the large size model. For auction is a rare Light/Lamp/Beacon. From the New York and New Jersey Port Authority. It's used but in great shape and DOES WORK! I tested it with a 6 volt battery, but its probably designed for a 9 or 12. I'm not sure what this was for exactly, but some kind of signal, possibly for a port, an airport, or one of the bridges/tunnels. It's all steel, and has a glass globe on top with a red plastic insert. It measures 8 inches long, 4 3/4 inches wide, and about 12 inches tall including the globe. It's made tough, weighing 8 pounds. It has a toggle switch on the top. It doesn't blink but does turn on steady. It's supposed to blink but there may be a wiring error or an issue with the relay. There is also some rust on the bottom of the battery box but no holes. These are obsolete and acquired legally.
