Vintage Copper and Brass Large Hanging Cargo Nautical Ship Light Re-Wired #2
Google the name"big ship salvage" and you will learn more about who we are! You are bidding on the copper and brass cargo light shown in the above photos. This light measures 28 inches tall and weighs about 45 pounds. The wide end with the glass measures 17 1/2 inches wide with the glass being right at 15 inches wide. The top mounting pipe we have installed is 10 inches long. You can make this light shorter by changing out this pipe with a shorter piece. Or you can make the light hang further down by adding a longer pipe. This pipe is common 1/2 inch black iron pipe you can buy at most hardware stores pre-threaded. We have used a hammered gold paint to give this iron pipe a matching brass look. The ceiling mount is 3 1/8 inches wide with four mount holes. This light has been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse ... moreElectric. Our newly installed lighting hardware is rated for any voltage under 250 volts, so normal house power is not an issue. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb with a wattage of less than 150 watts. Since the inside housing has very little space restrictions, you can even use the newer compact fluorescent bulbs, or a spot light with a common screw in base. Our wiring exits the center hole of the ceiling mount and we provide about 30 inches of extra wiring. When we find these lights. They are painted. We have removed the paint and polished the copper and brass. We do not try to polish our lights to the point they look new, so some buyers may spend some additional time doing additional polish work to get the light to your desired finish. This Tung Woo lamp was originally a decorative feature on a Knob Creek electric table lamp that we bought at an estate sale. It was not altered for the wiring of the Knob Creek lamp. It was merely attached to the lamps wood base with three small wood screws(see 7th pic) that we removed. Since it was only a decorative feature on the Knob Creek lamp, this Tung Woo lamp is in pristine"never lit" condition. Up for sale today we are pleased to be offering an Antique Copper Riveted R.C. Murray& Co PORT Side Ship Maritime Lantern/Lamp with Clear Lens. This is in original un-restored condition. This is labeled on front: PORT LAMPADS No 552 RC Murray& Co Limited 37 Cavendish St Glasgow Etched on the glass on the front of the lens is MWGW Ltd. S.L.C. 118 There is some denting. There is oxidation causing some nice green patina mostly around the edges but there are no rust holes. There is a seam split near the bottom underneath the lens and you can see through to the inside as it is split across the front and open in some areas though not in others. There is noticeable dirt and some rust on the inside from years of storage. The lens has some chips but none of them go through. There are three which are noticeable and the rest of the lens is in ... moregood condition. It measures 21" high X 14" across X 14" deep. Diameter across the top is 5 3/8" approximately. The lamp is being offered as found for parts or refurbish or keep as is. The lamp stands 8.7/8" tall as is. The soot catcher or chimney cap is missing. The copper housing shows a lot of aged patina. Pair Vintage Copper Brass NEPTUNE NR Ship Lantern Lamp Nautical Maritime Cage NR
This auction is for a pair of vintage NEPTUNE NR copper and brass ship oil lamp lanterns. These lamps are in EXCELLENT estate found condition with a stunning and even patina. They are beautifully crafted from copper and brass and secured with a chain and hook in the front. These lanterns both have a badge at the top with the Neptune hallmark and NR. All of the glass is in beautiful condition(with the exception of some dust from being displayed) The globe inside is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The oil lamp inside is secured to a metal wire that stays in place by sliding down two opposing corners inside. And sits very securely inside with no wobble. I do not know the age of the lanterns, and have seen only a few similar, but most of then have all brass cages(die to the reddish tint I do believe this is mostly copper) ... moreor have been polished. None have been found also with this exact badge in the same place and this stunning copper patina with the reddish copper undertones that almost glow through. This has not been cleaned or polished, but I'm sure would polish up nicely if the buyer wishes to do so. Each lantern stands 15"high without handle, and 17 1/2" tall with handle, by approx 7"wide. What a wonderful weighted and hinged brass and copper candlestick or chamberstick from the late 1800s-early 1900s! Heavy. Solid brass and copper consruction, it features a decorative handle, a copper drip pan, and an ingenius weighted and hinged shaft, which allowed the candlestick to remain upright, no matter how much the ship rolled. The base is held in place with a modern brass bolt and metal nut.the original is long gone. Beautiful, heavy, clever. Well made, and has a patina to die for. This particular candlestick came from the estate of the granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst, who owned a house in Tulsa(one of many around the world) Unsure of maker. Has the normal wear that one would expect from a piece of this age. And some minor staining. Antique MARITIME NAUTICAL SHIP LANTERN Red Glass Copper & Brass
Up for bids is a great marine piece- an antique ship lantern. This nautical lantern is made of brass and copper metals and a beautiful piece of red onion glass. It has a sloped top which keeps water and rain from the inside of it. The red onion glass is encompassed by protective brass pieces which prevent it from being damaged when it swings. This lantern also has both the top pivoting brass hanger. AND the bottom one. I see very few of these lanterns that were made with these, and if so they no longer have the bottom one. At some point someone has removed the kerosene drum/holder and started the process of making this electrical. I have not attempted to complete this. It is fitted with a very simple bulb holder and a turning switch which still turns and clicks. This has in no means detracted from the beauty of this lantern and will make ... moreit simpler to electrify if someone chooses to do so. This lantern is in fantastic vintage condition. It has wear associated and common with its age but overall really nice! If someone chooses to polish this it will shine like new. The glass is in very good condition. It has some wear marks. Rough spots, or minor chipping on the rims/edges but no breaks. The wear is only from where it is fitted into the copper ends. These marks are not seen or noticable when the lantern is put together. The glass itself has some air bubbles but only visible upon close examination. The sloped top has several small dents in it. The two copper caps look very good and I do not see any dents or tears in them. The brass hangers and glass protectors have only age patina to them but otherwise perfect. The measurements of this lantern is 25 1/2" when hanging from the top of the hanging attachment to the tip of the bottom attachment. The glass is approx. 6 1/2" high by 8 1/2" around. I've taken this apart to show the insides of the pieces and the area where the electrical work was started. Also. When I ship it will come separated like this. Very, very simple to put together and take apart

Some tarnish. Scuffs/etc and three brackets screwed into the base. A small ding or two that I wouldn't call dents, but you may. Approximately 10 inches across the bottom and 19 inches tall- 21 inches if you count the top handle- more if you count the bottom handle: I do not know if the oil burner works or ever was supposed to work. Absolutely Amazing! Large Vintage Ship's Anchor Light. Has Phoenix Glass Co. lens. Small surface chip noted in pictures. Copper colored metal- not sure if pure copper. Some denting noted. Brass fitting on top for hanging. Heavy duty copper colored 12 foot chain for hanging. This is a very heavy lamp& chain-approx. 25 lbs. We purchased this wonderful lamp from a retired States Marine Lines employee. He had converted this lamp to a hanging lamp and another one into a outside post lamp. Nice patina! Crude welds and denting gives it wonderful character. Due to weight and size. We believe this to be a actual Anchor lamp and not a reproduction. Works great but recommend re-wiring. VINTAGE NEPTUNE BRASS and COPPER SHIP LANTERN Rare to find
This is a really unique Antique Neptune Kerosene oil lamp. Is little different from the ones I have searched& It seems to be in very good condition for it's age. The ship lantern stands at a tall 15" without the handle and is 8" wide. The oil glass pot comes out from the top by unhinging the front side then the lantern and flipping the top backwards. With a hook and a latch with a chain for closer. The glass brass oil lantern stands at 4" tall without glass lamp. Seems to be heavy about 6 to 7 pounds. Made out of brass with copper rivets. Has a handle. Also four glass panels. It has a new wick. Not sure if the wick is original it does appear unused. The only problem is on the bottom there is writing so you should be able to use polish cleaner on it. I did not want to put anything on this. Low Starting Bid. It weighs a little over 12 pounds. I'm not sure if it's copper or brass. It's also very LARGE. It measures about 13 1/2" tall, 13 3/4" wide and is approximately 9 1/2" deep from each corner to the back. It was a originally a kerosene or oil ship's lantern. It's an amazing light! It's in excellent working condition, it's been newly re-wired& has an antique switch in the front(converted to electric) The switch is turned to right each time you want to turn it off or no. It has a removable red port glass(see photos of it turned on, with and without the red glass) The clear glass has a small 1/2" chip in one of the ... moreribbed sections; it's a very heavy thick glass so this does not compromise anything. Near the top of the lamp there's an emblem that has the numbers"3883" There is also some etching on both the clear and red glass. I wonder if this belonged to a military ship. As most items on those ships were marked with serial#s etc. The writing on each glass piece says"DHJE 3883, No. 654, E.31.5.61" It's not very noticable and you can't see it unless you really look; it's not seen when the light is on. Condition wise.it's vintage! There are a few dings& dents. Some areas of wear etc.but considering it was a ship light, it's going to have a weathered old look, which I personally prefer. It was either made to house a light bulb. Or converted an extremely long time ago. The bulb holder is European ceramic, so it would need an American spec bulb holder if you choose to use it as a lamp. The lantern measures about 13-inches high. I apologize for the shipping costs. Now passed, were prominent figures in the folk-art world, and her family has traveled extensively, so she has many years and two households of fine objets d’art to go through. This is a big nautical oil lantern. Made of copper to resist salt water corrosion. ... moreAll original parts. It was in the cellar of a home that flooded during Hurricane Irene here in Vermont, and is full of silt. I rinsed off the outside just enough to show what it is, but am not qualified to clean it thoroughly. The door slides down within guides. And you can see the loop and tab that secure it. It has a large reservoir, glass chimney, and the domed top opens smoothly. The label is soldered on, and has worn enough that I cannot quite make out the image– two horses, a standing figure with reins, maybe flanked by two seated figures, on a carriage indicated by a curving line– no wheels. When this is shined up it will be spectacular. The“buy it now” is low because it needs cleaning. But this is a showpiece.

Measuring 22" tall(not including handle) width of about 11" The piece is painted but as far as I can tell the most or possibly the entirety of the piece is made of copper. The lantern is a forward facing type with mounting rings on each side, an access door on the back an a top hatch that looks down into from the chimney above. Inside the back hatch, the burner assembly is on a track and is removable. It appears to be an oil/kerosene burner with a large reflector. The glass globe appears to be intact. There are three attached metal labels or tags on the front. I will try to decipher them for you, due to age and paint there are partially legible. The lantern has been retrofitted with an electrical ceramic light socket although it does not come with a cord. Beautiful globe- would be a wonderful light fixture for any collector or nautical buff. 1968 SAVE-U-LITE Copper Cannister Carbide Water Light This unique Save-U-Lite copper canister was an Estate find here in Northern Michigan. My research shows these were used in the Shipping industry and emit smoke and light when opened in water. There are lots of words on it…SAVE-U-LITE– SELF IGNITING WATER LIGHT– THE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CO. MFRS. PATENTEES– BALTIMORE MD. APPROVED BY U.S. COAST GUARD– NO. 160.012/3/1. The top reads: ATTACH THIS END TO SHIP– 1968 TOP. The bottom reads: ATTACH THIS END TO RING LIFE BUOY– BOTTOM. The canisters total length is about 10 3/4 inches long including the loops on the ends. And 5 inches in diameter. It has a nice aged copper patina and Carbide rocks inside.
