It is 10 1/2" over all the the wall/boat mount area is a circle that is 6" across the center. It is very heavy at 6 pounds without packageing materials/box. It is in 3 pieces. The case that screws in over the light globe. The glass globe which also screws in and the back that the globe and case both screw into. The glass globe reads in raised glass"P C. CO. and also has a number too that reads"9-S-4971-L" and the globe has no broken glass at all. It is thick and domed. Overall this is 10 1/2" and the glass globe. Case and brass lamp do not show any damage. It is a wall mount and the round wall mount area is 6" across the center. The elder estate seller(100 miles north of NYC) said his Uncle lived in Brooklyn NY and owned a tug boat decades ago and this is from the old tug boat. It is very heavy weighing 6 pounds without packageing and box. It was very hard to read but the globe has letters and numbers that look like"9S4971-L" but not positive of the numbers as they are in lightly raised glass. The brasss cage or basket area has no breaks and it reads numbers that look like"24CGH" or something like that is raised brass. The case also reads"R&S CO. which stands for the Russell& Stoll co) There is no other writing anywhere on this 3 pc set so I have no idea how old ... morethis actually is but it is very industrial. Antique Solid Brass Boat Lamp Early 1900's from Staten Island
This lamp may be handmade. It has a shade and it was made to hold a wick and kerosene. But the key that pulls the wick up is missing. Still it is a nice addition to a collector of maritime equipment. There is a piece of tape holding a white sticker: Old Brass Boat Lite $56- and then three initials that I cannot make out. I found it in my aunt's attic. She grew up in South Jersey and her father worked a sloop. Her husband was captain of the ferry that ran back and forth from Staten Island to Manhattan.

Bought many years ago from an old gent who said his father had gotten it from a boat that was being dismanteled-not sure when-but he thought early 1900s. I believe that the metal is heavy copper with cast bronze fittings. Or otherwise possibly brass with heavy patina. The light source was provided from some type of gas. The burner is still intact(see photo. The handle for maneuvering the light has the original leather wrapping-still in good condition. There is a small dent-see pictures. The high quality of the paint job prompts us to wonder. The glass globe has no cracks in it and the original tank plug is present. The glass is marked Perko 31-L-17A. The oil burner is missing. Comes with both burners that holds the oil with wicks. Both have sliding front doors for signaling by opening to light and closing, which both work. Both read"Boat signal" at the top. Solid brass antique gimbaled oil lamps
A pair of solid brass oil lamps with gimbaled brass holders. Spun brass soot toppers and glass hurricane globes. These were on my parents old wooden sailboat for years before I mounted them onto wall sconces. Brass has gotten a patina over the years. I was going to polish them, but frankly, I think they look better just the way they are.
