Early. Copper& Brass Starboard Side Ships Lamp. This antique lamp was found at an estate sale in Henderson. NY on the eastern shore area of lake Ontario. The lamp is being offered as found for parts or refurbish or keep as is. The lamp stands 8.7/8" tall as is. The soot catcher or chimney cap is missing. The copper housing shows a lot of aged patina. There is a crack in the copper in the pierced trim that goes around the chimney(see image 9) The bottom door also has a split or crack(see image 5) The curved, green glass is in excellent condition for its age, just a few fine scratches and some dirt. Early Oil Lamp Burner / Font for Railroad or Maritime Lamp
Great early font and burner for either a railroad or maritime lamp or lantern. Can't say which. But this assembly is for a very specific application, and is probably very rare and desireable if you know what you are looking at, and absolutely useless if not. Somewhere out there is a great nautical or railroad lamp or lantern desperately in need of this part. Hopefully it can go to the right home. Details are as follows: The greatest diameter is 4 1/4 inches. And as you can see in the images there are three pegs extending out from the sides of the font, evenly spaced at 120 degrees apart, so it goes into a very specific holder. With the burner it stands 6 inches high, and the burner is a standard American#2, with two spring clips to retain the early lip fitter type chimney. Two spring clips generally indicate to fluid lighting collectors ... morea railroad item. The burner appears to be an E.F. Jones, but it is not, and is marked WILLIAM S PACE& CO BOSTON. No patent date. Condition is about perfect. With no splits in the brass, no dents, and the burner is in good working order, with both spring clips for retaining the chimney intact and tight. This item is ready to go, if you have a use for it don't let it get away, and at my price if you are a collector or dealer in this type of lighting then it's a great item for your parts shelf. Antique Brass Lantern Oil Pot Fuel Font - Early Nautical Fixed Globe Lamp Part
Here are the dimensions. The hole this pot fits is 2 1/2 inches across. The pot spans 3 1/4" across its base flange. Or outer edge. 2 inch height between top of threads and bottom of Sangster clips. Stands 2 1/4" overall. All brass. This pot has a crease in its bottom rolled edge, and one clip has been re-soldered a long time ago. The clip repair does not harm how the pot sits and both of these issues are visible in the pictures. The threads are 7/8ths across and suffer no damage. Springs are strong and pot will hold oil. I package well and ship fast. Insurance is included in shipping cost. Shipping quote is for the continental United States only. Alaska. Hawaii and elsewhere must be adjusted for. The burner says P& A MFG Waterbury Conn. It opens up as shown in pictures. Has a little screw that probably held in a shade. Great piece. TERMS: Payment is due within 3 days from end of Auction. THIS SHIPS LANTERN IS IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION. IT PULLS OUT OF THE LANTERN AND IS MADE OUT OF METAL. IT HAS A VERY OLD#0 VICTOR BURNER ON IT AND THE CONE HAS SOME DENTS ON IT. IT ALSO HAS THE ORIGINAL BRASS LID AND THIS ONE DIDN'T SEE MUCH USE. THE BOTTOM IS DISCOLORED FROM AGE AND HAS A MINOR AMOUNT OF SURFACE RUST ON IT. THE BASE IS 8 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND 5 7/8 INCHES FRONT TO BACK. IT'S 4 INCHES TALL TO THE TOP OF THE METAL BRACKET. IT'S 6 3/4 INCHES FROM THE BACK TO THE HANDLE IN THE FRONT.
