Most likely from the Grand Tour Era This would have been a souvenir bought while rich& power toured the 7 wonders of the ancient world. I cannot explain the dirt hardened around the top and bottom. This is a clear glass vintage apothecary or early drug store bottle. It is a round(approx 3-1/2 inches across) and stands approximately 10 to 10-1/4 inches to top of stopper. The location for the label is indented but label has long been missing. There is no evidence of any cracks to either the bottle or the ground glass stopper. Old wooden stool with round seat on four legs is 23 inches tall, 12-inch seat
Cool stool has a lovely patina of age to its wood. It's appealing in its wear and rugged look. There are scratches. Dings, and nicks, exactly what you would expect from a workhorse piece of furniture. This stool stands 23 inches tall and the seat measures 12 inches across and is 1 1/2 inches thick. There are four legs, each reinforced with two cross planks. The legs bow out to provide a sturdy foundation. The stool weighs 6 pounds, 4 ounces. It's old. But there's nothing rickety about it. Pfeiffer Brewing Company operated in Michigan for many MANY years before shutting their doors back in the 70's. During their heyday they used to send out these chalkware figure s to their vendors and to the bars that sold their beer. Today. They've become quite collectible as both collectible chalkware AND as collectible advertising pieces AND as collectible Breweriana. THIS chalkware piece is considered a good find because of its' size(it's bigger than the more common small 7"8" ones) and its design(they didn't release as many of these) He would date to the 1950's. Measures 13 3/4" Tall. The base is 6 7/8" wide& 4 1/2" deep. ... moreIt's NOT in PERFECT condition but considering its' age and the fact that they don't make these anymore(obviously)he still displays wonderfully. Upon close inspection I found that his nose must have broken off and then been remounted(probably glued back on) at some point. I could be wrong as I'm not an"expert" on chalkware.OR how they make it.but I think that's the case so I mention it(and picture it below) for accuracy. The only other"issue" I can find is that the end tip of his right index finger isn't there. I've pictured this also below. You can usually find a few of the smaller 7" figures for sell.but these bigger ones.LOL.not so much This particular design is also desired because when they made him they made his hands really large. from a local estate sale. auction is for the lamp in photo(1 lamp) this danish lamp measures 40 inches tall. features a 3 way dimmer switch for low/med/high. lamp has shiny brass and buitifull finish. has the 3 stage light. You pull the center wood peice down to turn on, each additional pull adds brightness. 1 st pull 30 watt/ 2 nd pull 45 watt/3 rd pull 100 watt. 4 pull turns off. new bulb and cord end. electrical is excellent. solid buitifull lamp. the fourth photos is of the 2 matching lamps together, im selling seperate as one is better condition. there is some imperfections on the lamp. The back side has a small ding in the wood( in photo) a very small ding in the brass you have to look very closely to see that in person. see photo. its more or less a superficial defect. the center shaft shines but could polish out even better. the shade ... morehas nice beige color and displays nicely. But is orijinal and has some imperfections. some chiping on top rim inside dressing, see in the photos. a wave were it mounts in the back in a small area near top, the front near one post is a crease line you can see that on the left of the shade in photos. even with the defects this lamp is still collector quality. And really displays nice. all in all a nice lamp. Displays very nicely. Need a polish, and have some plate loss in places, but are still quite lovely, with exquisite details that include cartouches with bows and flowers, leafy bases encircled with rosettes, plus rosettes and torches near the tops. Large Vintage 6 inch tall Wooden Sewing Factory Spool with it's original thread. Manufactured by American Thread Co. USA. Thread is four cord cotton thread. Color is called#5187 Beaver. From age some of the thread on top of the spool is discolored and there is a spot where something was spilled on the thread. Which has damaged some of it. Wood spool is 6 inches tall. 3 3/4 inch in diameter on the base and top is 1 1/4 inch in diameter. Any questions about this item please write and I will answer as best as I can.
