This is an antique globe lantern with globe red glass. Measures 15.75" tall x 9 1/2" across. The beautiful red glass that appears to be hand blown reads"Perkins 10" Frederick Perkins founded the Perkins Marine Lamp Company in the late 1800's in Brooklyn. this is a very old metal signal light of some sort. Crumpled metal label on back reads PERKINS MARINE LAMP& HDW CORP. Brooklyn NY so I assume it is a boating or navigational lamp of some sort. 11 1/2" tall. About 6" wide and 9" deep with the flap that separates the two ridged glass lenses, one is green and one is red. Lenses are held in with copper or brass fittings and cap is same metal. The metal body is rusted out on about the bottom 3/4 inch and fits over somekind of lighting mechanism but I don't know what kind. this could be used for parts for another lamp of the same type or possibly restored, I don't know. back has a flat mount of some sort. don't know if it goes over an electric or gas light on a post, or how it was used. Antique MARITIME NAUTICAL SHIP LANTERN Red Glass Copper & Brass
Up for bids is a great marine piece- an antique ship lantern. This nautical lantern is made of brass and copper metals and a beautiful piece of red onion glass. It has a sloped top which keeps water and rain from the inside of it. The red onion glass is encompassed by protective brass pieces which prevent it from being damaged when it swings. This lantern also has both the top pivoting brass hanger. AND the bottom one. I see very few of these lanterns that were made with these, and if so they no longer have the bottom one. At some point someone has removed the kerosene drum/holder and started the process of making this electrical. I have not attempted to complete this. It is fitted with a very simple bulb holder and a turning switch which still turns and clicks. This has in no means detracted from the beauty of this lantern and will make ... moreit simpler to electrify if someone chooses to do so. This lantern is in fantastic vintage condition. It has wear associated and common with its age but overall really nice! If someone chooses to polish this it will shine like new. The glass is in very good condition. It has some wear marks. Rough spots, or minor chipping on the rims/edges but no breaks. The wear is only from where it is fitted into the copper ends. These marks are not seen or noticable when the lantern is put together. The glass itself has some air bubbles but only visible upon close examination. The sloped top has several small dents in it. The two copper caps look very good and I do not see any dents or tears in them. The brass hangers and glass protectors have only age patina to them but otherwise perfect. The measurements of this lantern is 25 1/2" when hanging from the top of the hanging attachment to the tip of the bottom attachment. The glass is approx. 6 1/2" high by 8 1/2" around. I've taken this apart to show the insides of the pieces and the area where the electrical work was started. Also. When I ship it will come separated like this. Very, very simple to put together and take apart

Antique Brass Electrified Hanging Ship Lantern Lamps Blue & Red Glass Lenses
This is a set of two hanging ship lantern lamps that once held a reservoir for oil or kerosene but have been electrified for a standard light bulb. Both are entirely made from bright shiny brass and have glass lenses of red and blue. On the top of both lanterns is stamped"Port Classes II& III" The one with the red lens is in excellent condition and the one with the blue lens is in good condition but looks like it has had some welding repair done along the top seam one side. Both have doors that open for easy bulb replacement. The both latch closed well. They are wired together with a 7' cord(can be hung up to 7' apart) and have a 10 1/2 foot cord with a plug coming from one lamp. The cords are not very old and are in very good condition but both have some sticky residue near the bottom of the lamps where they were taped ... moreto hold them in place. Each lamp measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 10" with handle down and 15" with handle up. These lamps will be packed well with care and insured.

This is a Vintage Lantern or Lamp. It is marked OAKFORD on the metal base. The glass is thick and red in color. It is marked 9S 3129 TYPE- O. It has a loop handle and wire cord(that has been cut from where it must have originally been attached to) It is heavy. I have seen something similar that were made for railroad trains and marine ships. Maybe this in another type used for either of those? I am not sure and you may know more than I about this item. It is older. Possibly from around the 1960's to 70's. It is in good condition, no rust but it has that used metal look and odor. The glass is solid, no cracks. Perko Galvanized ship's lantern Please tell me if you believe it is not a Perko. I understand they made their lanterns in brass or galvanized. It has the same sort of fasteners on the cage. These are much more rare. Glass is unmarked but in great undamaged condition! Vintage Red Glass Fresnel Lenses For Ship Light Or Lantern
This is for one vintage– antique red glass lens for a boat light. Ship light, shore light or lantern. It is in the shape of half of a cylinder. The lens is in the shape of a Fresnel lighthouse style lens. It is red glass through and through. Not just red on the surfaces. It is 7 3/8 inches tall and 7 7/8 inches wide at it's widest. It has an inside diameter of 6 9/16 inches. It has a molded in rabbit or stepped edge for mounting in the lantern on the top and bottom. On the top edge it has"Corning Made in U.S.A. molded in the glass. The side edges have grind marks from making it flat there. There are some small chips on the edges. There are no cracks or repairs on it. It came from Duluth, Minnesota. Duluth is at the west end of Lake Superior and has a large ocean going ship harbor. Antique Dietz Brass Maritime Dark Lantern Red Glass Ship Light
Here's a great old Dietz marine lantern in excellent condition. See Condition. From my research I believe it's circa 1917-1918. It's a dark lantern. With a brass sheath that pulls up to protect the glass. The sheath has numerous cracks around it(as most do) and is difficult to push back down(thus, no photos of it) Size is 11 1/4" tall x about 6 3/4" across the bottom. Aside from a few minor dings I can't find any fault with this lantern. If you know old lanterns, you'll most likely conclude, as I did, that it has much less wear than one would expect. This lens is 3 1/4" in diameter on the bottom~~the inside diameter on the bottom is 2 1/2"~~height is 2" This glass has survived quite well for it's age. The are no chips. Cracks or scratches. There are 2 chips on the flange which will never be seen. When this piece of glass was made, some specs were incorporated in the molten glass and those are the spots you see in my pics. Antique Brass Eric Canal Barge Lantern Red and Green Glass Nice Collectible
Antique Brass Two Color Boat Lantern Found in upstate New York. I am told that this is a lantern from the barges that they used on the Erie Canal. The lantern has a flat back and a rounded glass shade in the front. The glass is divided in the middle by a brass shield that extends from the front of the lantern- one side is colored green, the other side red, I guess to signal whether you were coming or going. On the top is a nice decorated piece that has little cut out heart shapes and a ring handle. On the bottom, there is a flap that can fold out showing the inside burner. The burner can be removed for filling and has wick with a turning knob. The lantern is in good antique condition, the glass is intact it is ready to display. Original tarnished patina. Vtg Perkins PERKO Marine Boat Lamp Starboard Bow Green Red Glass Light Lantern
This listing is for a vintage Perkins PERKO Marine boat Kerosene Lamp. Finding one in better condition than this one will be a challenge. The lamp is made of Galvanized metal and has a Brass Top/Finial and the Kerosene lights hardware is made of Brass. The Dark Green and red lens are made of Glass and are chip and damage free. The design of this lamp is different than most others. The inside hardware is accessible from the bottom of the lamp only. It has ingenious spring loaded tabs of each side. If you want to pull out the hardware you simply squeeze the tabs and pull the hardware out. As you can see from the photo's the Brass hardware is in excellent condition and includes what is probably the original wick.I think this lamp has spent most of it's life indoors. The outside Galvanized Metal is also in excellent condition. Nothing ... moreis loose. All corners etc very tight construction. The top finial piece with hanging loop is made of Brass. I did not clean this. Left the original patina. I did however clean the Brass Perkins/ Perko identification tag because I could not read what it says. Large Ship Lantern Lamp Port Red Vintage Nautical Boat Double Curved Glass
Gorgeous Port Light Lantern. Lantern measures approx. 10 inches tall(not counting the pail 3.5" type handle) by 7 inches wide by 6 inches deep. I have sold a half dozen nautical lamps and this is by far the fairest of them all.inside 7 out. It has a beautiful patina. Only one very small dent, no scratching or chips. There are two layers of curved glass.the exterior glass(Barcelona Glass) is clear and a red internal curved piece. Both pieces excellent.no chips or cracks There is an opening. Surrounded by a rubber gasket, going into the lamp. Not sure what it is for, maybe a lead light. I placed a small light in the body to show what this lamp can look like. Could be electrified quite easily with the hole already there. Great looking lamp. Would look great all lit up out on a boat dock. By the pool or on a patio. Could be hung, attached ... moreto a wall bracket or just set on a shelf. Excellent Condition. There is some type of mounting bracket on backside. The lid is also very tight with solid hinges. I gently eased the top off with a screwdriver to open. You must remove the screw all the way to open.it slides into a hole as shown in pictures. There are 4 little feet on bottom with holes for air circulation. Would appreciate any info you might have as to maker as there is no hallmark on the lamp. Believe it's early 1900's. You will love this lamp.satisfaction guaranteed. I am also hoping to pick up it's starboard mate. The owner was reluctant to part with one lamp let alone both. I understand why!
