Perko Brass Top Anchor Lamp, Made In Brooklyn NY USA.
This listing is for a used Perko Anchor lamp with brass top. The lamps' dimensions are appx. 11 3/4" high excluding the top ring and 5 1/2" across the base. The lamp body itself is galvanized steel and has been painted silver at some time. The brass fuel fount and burner has a tube soldered into it for the wiring of an optional electric bulb holder(which is not included) To pass through, this was done at the factory, it is not a hole in the fount. The Fresnel lens is marked inside; PERKINS FIG. 261 SR. ANCHOR MOULD No.14 The small brass tag has a Perko logo and reads PERKINS MARINE LAMP& HDWE. CORP. BROOKLYN N.Y. U.S.A. NOTES ON CONDITION! There are hairline stress cracks on the rims of the brass top.see photos of top) this happens frequently to brass parts that were stretched out thin when they were originally formed as ... morethey age. Also two of the original brass screws have been replaced. The lamp makes a nice display piece but is functional as well. One can burn oil in it or since it is already set up for electric conversion one could replace the burner with a socket and bulb and turn it into an electric lamp without drilling holes in it. This Rare Perko Globe lantern needs some solder and a couple of pieces of wire to hold it together but it has the rarerest part.The Perkins# 8 red globe without any cracks or chips.The lantern is made of galvanized steel with a brass top and bottom and was made from about 1916-1925.It is also called the Signal Lantern or as a general light.We do not have a burner and it has been electrified but it is a very early model.It measures 15" tall X 10" in diameter on the outside wire and 8" in diameter on the shade.It is listed as Rare in my lantern book. Artifact Found* Up for sale is a Vintage Dew-R-Lite. It is a mining lantern from Dewar Manufacturing. Brooklyn, New York. It has seen better days but is in pretty good shape for being used and being around this long. I think it used kerosene. The rubber ring seal has fallen off and has been discarded. You are viewing a vintage brass Perko'De-Lite' series marine turret top lantern from before the company moved to Miami Florida(while they were still in Brooklyn New York) This model lantern was in production from at least 1930(according to my 1930 Perkins Marine Lamp catalog) so the dating is in the range of 1930-1960. It was cleaned and hand polished in the 1980's and only used occasionally indoors since then. so it is only mildly tarnished and lightly sooted inside from the kerosene burner. The original ... morekerosene burner is complete. in working condition. doesn't leak. the flame photos are from the morning of listing. The door closes firmly and locks with the sliding rod on left side. I will be listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is a Large Antique A. WARD HENDRICKSON. BROOKLYN, N.Y. MARINE LANTERN with"AS IS" ORIGINAL RED GLOBE. Looks to be c.Late-19thC vintage to me. Lantern is 20" tall not including the top swing handle. Buying as you see it as found in estate. The globe has a large hole on one side with crack lines going out from hole. The remaining thick glass looks stable as is however. Globe still displays well on good side. There are other ridge chips on glass. A couple of dings spots on shoulder of lamp. Top lid has dent on top. Vertical cage rod is pushed in where the hole in glass is. Opposite rod pushed in somewhat as well with some broken connectors to cage. Layer(or layers) of old black paint on surface. Old patina to lantern. There is a wire hanging ... morefrom top on the inside of lantern where previous owner had a light bulb hanging inside it. Hefty old lantern weighs approx. 15.8 lbs. unboxed. NY-Group B, 135 degree +, PERKO Mould No. 41- CLEAR GLASS LENSE(ca. 1916) measuring approx. 7-3/8" tall x 7-1/2" wide x 5/8" thick in Good Condition. Note: There are several shallow chips near the top as shown in photos. Also, it appears that the shape of the glass magnifies whats inside the lense. I placed a quarter inside the lense.

Pair of 2- Old Brass ship lanterns. Made by the PERKINS MARINE LAMP CORP. out of Brooklyn New York. Brass Has a beautiful natural aged patina. The original glass lens is starting to turn a very slight amethyst color. The lanterns inside were made by E. MILLER Co. And are marked. Look at the pictures closely. This is exactly the way I found them. I think they would polish up nicely. They measure about 17-1/2" tall(including the bail) and each weighs close to 9 pounds. In excellent condition. And would clean up nicely if you choose to do so. Both show expected wear. And have a few dings. Overall in Very Good Condition.
