Solid Brass Neptune NR Oil Burning Ships Lantern
This Solid Brass Ships Lantern was purchased by us from LL Bean in the early 1980's and is of the highest quality construction. The solid brass has great weld joints and copper rivet construction. The entire inner glass chimney portion is easily removed by two brass handles for fueling and cleaning. The lantern has been used several times and has some black smoke on the glass chimney. Still has 6" to 7" of cotton wick left in fuel pot. Other wise it is in perfect condition and could be passed on for generations. This could be polished to a high shine but I have preferred the acquired patina. The lantern measures approx. 15" X 8" and weighs approx. 6 lbs. This is a wall model gimble 1930's vintage ships lamp that was refurbished about 30 years ago and lacquered. A nice lamp for display or use. Originally appears to have been an oil or candle type lamp but an electrical socket was added and cord would have to be added. May prefer to go back to the original version. Very nice condition.

Vintage Antique Ship Lanterns 1900's Brass Ships Gimbaled Oil Lanterns Rare
You are bidding on a pair of very rare. Brass gimbaled oil lanterns which were manufactured in the early 1900's for use in finer staterooms. These are beautiful and hard to find in this condition. However, when I was taking pictures, I unfortunately broke one of the green glass shades. I have tried to find another shade, but have been unable to do so. I have been able to find many antique restoration companies, one of which I have spoken to in great detail about the broken shade. He assures me that he can restore the shade to its former glory with very faint visibility. If the break is turned to the back of the lantern, it will be invisible to the eye. I will be glad to send the shade myself, or if the winning bidder would like to find their own restoration specialist, I will provide the pieces carefully wrapped. There are only three ... morebroken pieces and they fit together perfectly. These lamps were manufactured by C. Gray Ship Chandlers Established 1882 Arbroyath. Scotland and the brass nameplate is attached to the front of each lantern with that information. The lamp bodies are very heavy brass and are fully gimbaled. These are self-leveling lamps for use on the high seas. The wall brackets have a fleur-di-lis type decorative look. The burners are original with a double wick. The knobs are stamped"John Scott Made In England" The last two pictures show small cracks at the top of each body. These appear to be caused by age. The lamps have not been polished because I personally find them more beautiful in their aged condition. The clear glass chimneys are both in perfect condition with no flaws of any kind. The one shade is also perfect with no flaws. The second shade was discussed above. The brass body measures approximately 17" from bottom to the top of the oil burner and is approximately 10" in width at its widest point. T he very top of the lantern has a dent in it and the handle has a light bend i n it. There are a few small dings on the out side. The glass in good condition no chips or cracks as far as can be seen. T he burner is in good condition as well. We aren't sure if this is the original burner. The burner comes out of the bottom of the lantern to refill it. T he burner is also missing 1 of the 3 clips that holds it in. W e are not experts on sailing lanterns but this is how it came to us. Old antique Ships brass light cover w/ hook and beveled glass front, 1800s ?
Hello. Up for bid is what I believe to be an antique ships brass light cover. I was told it could be a very old cover for a ships nautical instrument. The patina on it is very old as is the old beveled glass front. Truthfully I ve never seen another one so have nothing to compare to. Its definately old and in good shape but what exactly it was used for, I am not sure. The inside paint is a light colored paint and is flaking off. The glass is very nice with normal age wear and scuffs. I cleaned the glass a little but did no other restoration on this item. It looks to good to mess with. The brass handle is tight and swings freely. The body of the lamp cover shows normal wear and dings, nothing bad. The large hook on the back looks good and is very solid. Looks like it hooks to the ship with the hook. There is no bottom and I dont know if it ... morehad one. The size is demonsrtated in picture two with my hand as a size measurement. Rare Ship's Cone-top Bird Cage Whale Oil Lantern. Tufts 1860 Brass Ships Lantern
Extremely Rare American Pat. dated March 13. 1860 Brass Ships Lantern! Same Patent date as Tufts Lanterns made in Boston and probably a Rare Tufts Lantern as shown. The date is on the bottom of the heavy glass Globe which is original to the Lamp. All Brass and in the early Bird Cage form. Complete with original Brass Whale Oil Burner, see photo#5. The Punched Tin Cone-top is fantastic, see photo#2. I see no damage or repairs and it measures 17 1/2" tall and 21" if you include the Ring Handle. 9" in diameter across the bottom. Quite heavy about 10 lbs. due mainly to the heavy glass Globe. A very rare piece of nautical History with 150 years of patina, never polished! This is a vintage brass spotlight. The spotlight is still in good shape with wear from age and use. Im not sure if it works. I was not able to properly test it so i am just selling it for parts or repair. Im also not sure who made the spotlight and also not sure if it is for a train or a ship, or even neither of the two. Im assuming that because it is made of brass that it is meant for ships, but again im not sure. It is a brass spotlight but is nickle plated as well. They are in excellent condition with NO major damage as shown. I am not sure if they are mining or ships lanterns but I was told they are ships lanterns. They have a handle on the back that folds. A chimney, inside components that are marked Barton Burner Co, and they measure 10.25" high x 4-1/4" x 3-3/4" at the base. VINTAGE BRASS CAGE for Caged Deck/Ships Light from retired Staten Island Ferry
For those with the nostalgia of the old days and New York City here is a piece of it- from one of the Staten Island Ferry boats that was dismantled for scrap near St. George. They were selling items before sending the rest to the smelter. I purchase one of the deck lights with the large metal enameled shades and the lamp inside a glass enclosure. To protect the glass there was a brass cage over the glass. This light hung in our Vermont driveway for over 20 years and worked just fine through storm and snow. Then one of the trees used to support the suspension cable came down in a storm. Bent e shade and broke th glass but the cage remained without an added scratch. That's all that's left of it now and it is time for someone else to have it fotw a show piece. It's brass and the mounting is threaded. The electrical box was a weatherproof ... more4 inch with a socket and two threaded openings, one for the glass and one for the cage. The vessels still ply the same waters but I bet it costs more than a nickel to ride it now. A piece of history.

Vtg PERKO SHIPS NAUTICAL BOAT LANTERN LIGHT VERY HEAVY BRASS & THICK GLASS
This is a very thick brass nautical light made by Perko. The red glass is original& also very thick. It was rewired for household current& works. The wire is very short& bared at the end& has a cut in it. So it probably should be replaced. It stands 9 1/2" tall. It has two open threaded fittings(one on bottom& one on back) It also has a smaller hole that the new wiring was ran through. I'm not sure if it was on a ship or maybe even a bridge. It is heavy duty, I put it on a bathroom scale& it registered 10 pounds. The glass is still in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It was found in an old estate in northern Michigan right on Lake Huron, so it probably has some history. Unfortunately I do not know the history of it. We believe this is a brass oil lamp used on a ship. It has a stationary wall mount. It measures approx. 8" and the wall mount comes out 6 1/2" from the wall. The only marks we can locate on this piece is on the wick knob that says Made in MN1 English. It is weighted. There is one dents in the side. There is tarnish and wear on the brass. The wall mount has a lot of pitting on the underside. Both needs to be cleaned. If you have any questions regarding this item. Please contact us. We charge the exact postage provided by the USPS. On The Auction Block For This Sale; Very nice early Millers Maritime ships lantern. This old lamp is in very good condition. It has been painted gun boat grey. It is part brass and tin. The very top.Latch and burner is brass. I believe the rest is painted tin. There is a straight crack in the glass from top to bottom. It is still solid. Looks like it's been that way for awhile. The lantern appears to be made of mostly brass with the exception of the reflector piece. Glass and the heat distributor in the top. There is no makers mark on the piece that I can ascertain. The makers mark was probably on the bottom of the burner that is no longer with the lantern. A couple of the solder joints for the cage across the glass are no longer in place. The metal reflector plate is still in the lantern. Some corrosion to its' finish in places. Looks like the lantern was dropped at one time and the top bracket was bent in. PAIR BRASS HANGING SHIPS LANTERN LIGHT LAMP EARLY ELECTRIC BIG AND HEAVY BOAT
ok here today we have 2 early electric large heavy brass ships lanterns. please I am not an expert on maritime so if i make any errors let me know. these stand 14 inches to the top of the handle and almost 11 inches when the handle is down. the diameter of the base is 7 1/4 and the height of the actual glass globe inside is 5 3/4 inches and the diameter of the globe is 4 inches the op cap is held on with 4 thumb screws most of which are good. a couple have some thread loss and do not grip well. one lantern has an additional screw on piece on the top of the cap to accept the electric line. the bottom has a hinged cover with glass insert. unknown if it is original. each lantern has a small hinge on the bottom so you can open and close the hatch to change bulbs. one hinge is missing 1 screw.the othe issue is the handle is broken off on 1 lantern ... morebut i do have it and it can be welded back on. please look at the photos and ask me questions.if you need a specific photo of any part let me know. I did show photos of the broken off handle the mechanism still functions just need to reattach the handle. the shade is 2 part mold glass clear and free of any damage.there are no markings that would help me identify the manufacturer or ship. they will be shipped separately and the total shipping is 45 dollars' No international sales, I go to great lengths to call all issues even some that really are not,so that we are all on the same page when looking at these lanterns

Here is a D.H.R. Dean Haan of Rotterdam. The lantern is brass. Not polished, has patina. On the bottom is the makers mark, Made in Holland. On either side it is embossed with a windmill. The lantern stands about 11" and 5 1/4" wide. On the back is a key hole notch for hanging. The wick is still intact and the turn knob works. The glass chimney is about 10 1/4" tall and the base is 2" wide. On the chimney is written cristal Prima. There are some spots of tarnish and a small scuff in the front. Otherwise, in good condition. VINTAGE PAIR BRASS SHIPS WALL MOUNT KEROSENE LAMPS",PERKO" & "ENGLISH MADE"
For bid is a vintage pair of brass kerosene wall mount lamps. They are made to turn so they stay level if they are mounted in a boat/ship. One is slightly larger then the the other and 1 is marked"Perko" The one marked Perko measures a little under 6 in. tall with a mounting plate that is 2 3/4 in. across. The other piece is 5 1/2 in. tall and the plate is a little under 2 1/2 in. across. The one that isn't marked Perko does have the words"English Made" on the wick turning screw. The Perko one has a wick and the other one doesn't. They are both done in heavy brass and have a nice patina. There was a sticker at some point and when it was removed. It left a shiny brass area but it should eventually turn darker once it's exposed to air. The Perko one is also missing a few prongs where the shade goes. There are ... morestill enough prongs to hold the shade. Nice pieces that would work great for the boat, garden room or a country room, you will just need shades which are pretty standard. Here for your nautical pleasure is a nifty gambel ships oil lamp. Two sided. Very heavy bottom to ensure plumb. It is made by(and marked) The lamp measures 11" tall w/o the chimney and 18" high w/ chimney. Approximately 3/5" diameter at the brass top and 3" on the brass bottom. As you can see. It is in fine working condition, but as with all vintage items, it is imperfect. I cannot speak as to its age: the 1842 in the name is probably the founding date of the company. Which is still in business. The lamp is from an estate sale of quite elderly folks who had a lot of nautical/marine items. If there is more information I can supply. I respond promptly. Sorry. Ships Brass Cargo Lamp, unused. Hurricane lamp. "NO 3954, GREAT BRITAIN 1939"
Brass cargo lamp. Hurricane lamp. Never used. Consists of a small brass oil lamp enclosed in an armored brass housing. The top of the housing tips back, the lamp can be partially lifted and the chimney assembly tips back to light the wick. Or, the lamp can easily be completely lifted out of the assembly. Rivets hold brass rods that protect the glass windows. The assembly and hinge are riveted together. A brass chain holds the latch, and the window panes are original. The chimney of the oil lamp has small waves and bubbles in it, and the heavy brass castings for the rope tie-offs suggest it is old. It is all riveted together with brass rivets. There are no stamps or words that I could find anywhere on the lamp or housing beyond the heavy brass plaque riveted to the top, Cargo Light. NO 3954, GREAT BRITAIN, 1939" I bought this lamp in ... more1984 but never used it. It will burn whale oil. Lamp oil, or undyed kerosene a.k.a. parrafin oil. With the handle folded down, it is approximately 15" high, X 9" across the castings, X 7 1/2" The small lamp inside is approximately 10" high X 4" in diameter. Vintage Brass & Glass Ships Oil Kerosene Lantern Ship Light Lamp Viking??
This is a vintage brass ships lantern. Most is brass with glass panels and a white ceramic piece on the burner. From looking on the net. This one appears to be a Viking but I cannot find any markings on this lantern or the lamp itself. It is complete. The wick is inside of the oil tank as shown. Has a black wooden handle on the top. The door opens and closes shut properly. Looks to have never been lit. There is one small dent in the side of the top. otherwise no damage. Measures about 6 1/2" X 7" X 16" tall including the hanlde. Antique Brass Copper Ships Lantern with Burner
Antique Ships Lantern in as found condition. I am not an expert here. Tried to do some research and found similar Lanterns made by Anchor and Meteorite. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The Lantern is 15 + inches tall/ 18 inches if you include the handle and 8 inches wide. Made of Brass. The latching piece on the top of the Lantern looks to be copper. There is some light chipping on the Lens Globe but nothing serious, No cracks or breaks. Could use a good cleaning or leave the patina. Very impressive. THE OIL FONT IS MISSING THE REFLECTOR THAT SLIDES ON TOP OF THE RESERVOIR. ONE WING HAS A SMALL SECTION ON TOP WHERE THE SOLDER CAME LOOSE. LASTLY. THE GREEN LENSE HAS A SMALL CRACK[SEE LAST PHOTO] THE LENSE IS STABLE AND ITS DOUBTFUL IF IT GOES THROUGH TO THE FRONT BECAUSE YOU CANNOT FEEL IT WITH FINGER OR FINGERNAIL. An original lot of two antique ships nickel plated brass wall mounting gimbal candle holders. The candle holders measure approximately 5" tall and weight 4 pounds each. These antique maritime items were probably originally used on a yacht and date to about circa 1890-1900. They are both in excellent all original complete condition free of wear through or dents and only in need of a little polishing as I have left just as they were recently found in an old estate. They do not seem to be an exact match although clearly intended as such and made at the same time by the same manufacturer one candle socket has lines on it and one does not and one has a slightly small gimbal than the other with all other details exactly the same as well as the details of the wall brackets.
