It has a small ring underneath that can be used as a way to keep it from sliding around a table in rough seas,by hooking it to a clasp or nail.This was polished with Brasso recently. I thought it looked better with a little more Patina. It still shows its age well. Just don't polish it every week! It measures 8 and 7/8" long by 5 and 1/4" wide and 2 and 1/2" high. For auction is a nautical brass spring loaded gimbal candle sconce with wall mount bracket. This piece is missing the globe. It takes approx 1 1/2" base size globe. There are no dents. The brass ring just under the globe mount has 5 little nicks in it(see last 2 pics) Other than that It is very good condition and working order. The spring is inside and works fine.

This is a pretty amazing find. This ANTIQUE BRASS CANDLE LAMP HER MAJESTY’S ADMIRALTY SERVICE is believed to be from the early 1900’s or possibly even from the late 1800’s. There are plenty of pics to help you understand this item. The emblem soldered on the front says“ H M ADMIRALTY SERVICE. The bulbous bottom part unscrews to reveal a large spring. That is removed. A candle is inserted, and the spring& bottom are re-installed to continuously place upward pressure on the candle. That way, as the candle burns down it is continuously being pushed up. There is an old looking candle stub still in the top in the normal use position, we left it in place. You will notice a permanently attached bracket for hanging on a cabin wall or bulkhead on a ship. The candle lamp has a great old brass patina. You will notice solder at various places. Some ... moreappears to be from the original making of the lamp and a couple might be repairs or just sloppiness by the maker. None of the brass looks like it has been damaged. The lantern is in amazing shape for it’s age. The bottom is flat enough that the lantern can be used sitting on desk, table, or counter. There apparently was once a glass chimney but we never saw it. I would imagine the new owner could find one to fit if desired. We have never seen another one of these in 20 plus years of buying& marketing antiques& collectibles. The older piece has very heavy obvious use wear throughout metal is smooth no ridges left. Both have wear are dirty and tarnished throughout. Both weigh 1 pound 14 ounces each so a good copy I would say. Could also be 2nd piece was handled less but my though its a copy. Aged Brass and Etched Glass Nautical Lamp Lantern Candle Holder
This belonged to my Uncle and he had it for roughly 30-40 years. He lived on the lake in upper Michigan. So that’s why I think it’s a nautical lamp. But I’m not really sure. The top opens and shuts, and the base turns to unlock and open. The last thing my Uncle had in the base was a 2-1/4" citronella insect repellent oil candle(shown in photo as an example. But I'm not including that in auction because it's old and dried up) The brass is aged and there is quite a bit of oxidation as you can see in the photos. I haven't attempted to clean it with soaps and solvents because I don’t know what I’m doing and could ruin it. Plus I know some people like the natural patina look. The patina blues on the bottom are gorgeous. It measures 9 ½” high. The etched designs in the glass globe are 8-pointed stars making a beautiful starburst ... moredesign. Made in India.

These antique maritime items were probably originally used on a yacht and date to about circa 1890-1900. They are both in excellent all original complete condition free of wear through or dents and only in need of a little polishing as I have left just as they were recently found in an old estate. This is a nice tall(almost 21" vintage brass candle holder light for a ship or boat. It has a loop at the top to hang by. And a brass slide to secure the glass candle cover, so it won't fall off if the ship sways. Another fixed brass ring holds the bottom of the glass over the candle and then there is the weighted base. It is a sturdy lamp light and it looks GREAT! I could not find a makers mark on it, but then again, my eyes are not so good anymore. maybe you can find one. These two antique ship table lamps are so wonderful. They really have seen a lot of use. They sat on a table on the ship and held candles. The swinging action kept the candles upright when the ship went through the waves. They could be hung up and still accomplish the job. They are very primitive and one is rustier than the other I purchased them for our home in Florida. We decided to go with a different scheme of décor and now I am obliged to sell them to make my husband happy. He just doesn't get the rust and I love it. Although they match really well. Antique Nautical/ Brass over Copper Candle Holder Great Patina NO LenseVintage advertising item. This item is in good condition but like all used items shows some signs of use from age and wear just like you would expect The Brass on one Candle/oil light Holder has worn completely away and it looks to be copper under it. I think the other one is brass coated over copper also. They appear to have some age as this kind of wear only happens over a long period of time. They have metal snap tabs inside which I believe to off held a Globe at some time. I am not positive that these held candles or oil lamp but I think that is the case. The extension bracket should of been longer for safety but they may of been used on a fixture. I could be wrong on the use of this item as it is just an educated guess so please consult a professional before using ... morethis item for safety reasons. Antique, heavy brass, Triple Frog-Footed, Navy style Candle Holders
According to my collector friend. These solid brass holders are probably from the Victorian era. This is based upon their construction(the brass pieces that make up the bases are attached with brass screws rather than some kind of modern adhesive) and by their irreverent designs. Each holder has an ornate, tripod base. There's a four toed, frog-like foot perched on top of each of the tripod's three feet. Three, muscular and straining bent legs come to points that hover just above the points of spear heads. The points extend just beyond the hems of what look to be tunics of ancient, Roman soldiers. The barrels of the candle holders are decorated with roped anchors, leaves, and vines. The holders seem quite heavy for their size(two pounds each holder) They are eight(8) inches high, three and a half(3 1/2) inches wide at the base, and ... moretwo and a half(2 1/2) inches across at the top. These will hold the"stick" candles. Note that the tops of the holders, which are removable, no sit perfectly straight. If you win them you could adjust them, but I didn't want to try.

RARE! Large 1800's CANDLE Power Ship Navigation Lantern, Solid Brass high polish
Here is an absolutely stunning and very rare example of an early. Solid brass, candle powered ship's navigation lantern. Though one in this price range isn't for everyone, it is for the serious collector. Circa late 1800's to very early 1900's. This style of lantern was also often used as a Lighthouse Keepers Stairwell or Passageway Light. As it was made by the famous lighthouse Fresnel Makers- Barbier Benard& Turenne of Paris, it seems only fitting. The lantern has a plate on the front of it's lighthouse style body, that names this maker. It is made of highly polished solid brass. And is 7.5" wide, 16.5" w/o bales extended and 26" with bales extended. It is a fairly large lantern. It is fitted with the original lens, which in made of red glass shaped to look like a lighthouse and made of high quality ... moreglass. The globe is in excellent condition showing no chips or cracks. As for the inner workings of the lantern. As the candle burns a brass spring slowly pushes it up in order to keep the flame at a constant level. A candle is included. Antique Marine Navigators Lantern Brass Signal Lamp w original Candle Boat Light
Antique Maritime Boat Navigators Lantern! It is Marked Navigators Lantern but it is so covered in old paint you can only make out the L. See pics. Somewhat rare piece. Brass with Original glass and original candle, see pics. Stands about 8 1/2" tall not including handle/hanger. It's been painted black over what looks like it's original green. Most of these I've seen have a back piece with two metal"handles" So either this one came without them and with this hanger or the handles were removed and the hanger added later. However I don't see any removal holes anywhere on the back but I do see possible old weld marks covered up with old paint. There is a metal peg missing on the front that slides the inner door around to block the light. The door does slide. It has both the inner brass slide door and blackened metal ... moresheathe. Hard to show in pics. Paint is severely flaked. It is in it's original condition as is the candle see pics. Glass is not chipped nor cracked but dingy, needs cleaned and has a cool air bubble in it but you can only see it when it's opened and I didn't get a picture. Very solid hinges are tight and fine. One small dent near globe on it's right if facing it. Hard to see but I got the best pic I could of it. Clasp is strong and door shuts tightly. Nothing wiggles or moves around. You could actually use this right now. All in original condition. The only thing I'm not definite on is it's age. It could be back as far as the Civil War era or just late 1800's. It is believed to have been used as a Railroad signal lantern. conductor's lamp on a train here in the Southwest but I have no evidence to prove that. Set of 2 DHR Den Haan Rotterdam Original Brass Captains Candle Light
For your consideration an awesome pair of DHR brass table lamps that are very hard to find with the original globs. Den Haan Rotterdam is a Holland based company that has sold ship and naval supplies since the early 1920's. This lamp is one of the oldest designs. Meant for dining area or Captain's table on a sea vessel. The brass base is very heavy and sturdy, and in very good condition. The frosted glass globe has a beautiful design on it, and attaches to the base with screws. The lamp holds a 6" standard tapered candle that is spring-loaded, so that it rises up as the candle burns down. These are an excellent addition to any nautical collection. These lamps are pretty bright.
