And the base measures 2 1/8" wide. There are 2 small dents in the top dome, which can be popped out should you decide to do so(I will leave that up to the successful bidder) The burner has a wick and the wick turner works most of the time(a couple of times when I tried it it did not work but that may be due to the wick being so old. Antique PERKO Brass Adjustable Marine Spot Light Boat Search Light Nautical
This is a really cool old Perko marine spotlight or searchlight. It is solid brass and I think the light holder is a cast red brass. I couldn't find anything on the light that a magnet would stick too. It seems to be structurally in good condition. The brass could use cleaning and polishing as there's a lot of patina to the brass. The thin strip around the top and bottom of the light have some small slits. Maybe for fitting the brass around the body of the light. The light is also adjustable to be able to aim the light. The half label on the back is a Perko label. Heavy and well made. It has a GE bulb and I was told it works. The wiring is frayed and you should definitely have it checked out or rewired if you're planning on using it as a light though. See the pictures for more detail. Up for auction is this old P ERKO ships lamp. It must be the largest lamp made by Perko. It stands an impressive 2 4" tall. With handle raised. M easures 11 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" deep. This could have been a cargo lamp. Steaming l ight. Anchor light, or a stern light. Not really sure. Somewhere on it's journey it was electrified and has a bulb inside and the burner is not present. It has a thick Fresnel lens that is turning purpl e with age and it has a crack in it that is stable. Doesn't detract much from the old lamp. Still displays beautifull y.With a r ich patina that adds to the salty character. This Perko lamp was made in Brooklyn. New York a long time ago and after being at sea for many years. Antique Vintage Boat Nautical Marine Oil lamps Port Starboard Green Red Ship
Up for auction are two antique nautical port/ starboard oil lamps. I have yet to see a pair exactly like this with smooth glass. Unfortunately i do not see any markings on them. The body's of the lamp appear to be galvanized but i could be wrong. The lenses of these lamps are in very nice shape with no visable cracks. One is green and one is red. These lamps appear complete minus the one is missing a part out of the bottom as seen in the picture. The only other issue is that the top of the one lamp has a dent and the top has some minor damage. Other then that they would make a great display piece. These are being sold as is. Later National Marine absorbed a company called American Lamp and Brass, according to Hobson, but the"American" name died with the acquisition. Fredrick Perkins became president of National in 1913. Frederick and his son Louis left that company in 1916 and moved back to Brooklyn, New York where they started Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation so there is a lot of lamp history in this early lamp. This lantern measures approximately 11 inches wide. 10 inches tall, and 8 1/2 inches front to back. This lantern weighs approximately 4.75 pounds Condition- This awesome combination bow lantern is in very nice condition. It has developed a wonderful patina over the years, but could be polished to a high shine if desired. There are two issues to this piece, The first- is the starboard(red) Fresnel lens is heavily fractured. The second- is the kerosene fount/burner is missing from the lantern. Vtg Glass & chrome sail ship night light lamp nautical marine boat
Very nice nautical sail ship night light. Fair shape for it's age. No chips or cracks in the glass bottom. Glass bottom has chipped paint and chrome needs polishing. But it looks so cool lite up! The green and red colored plastic on the deck is cracked on each side, but not very noticable. All sails are there but strings need reattched in a few places. Up for auction is a great authentic Ahlemann& Schlatter ship lantern with some interesting history. This piece is marked Ahlemann& Schlatter- Bremen- Metallwarenfabrik. This lantern was produced by Ahlemann& Schlatter. This company was founded in 1868. And was a pioneer in the nautical lighting industry fulfilling the higher technical demands of the time. They used innovations to further develop lighting technology and for over one hundred years. Ahlemann& Schlatter's products accompanied ships throughout the world. Bremen is a city in Northwestern Germany; a commercial and industrial city with a major port on the River Weser. Metallwarenfabrik is a German term for metal fabrication shop. Some tarnish. Scuffs/etc and three brackets screwed into the base. A small ding or two that I wouldn't call dents, but you may. Approximately 10 inches across the bottom and 19 inches tall- 21 inches if you count the top handle- more if you count the bottom handle: I do not know if the oil burner works or ever was supposed to work. Unlike many of these lanterns this one still has the original Perko lamp inside as shown in pictures. The sliding hatch mechanism still works on this piece. It was used as a display piece in the house and they had a screw in the base of the signal to hold the sliding hatch open. I'm not sure who this was made by but it has great patina looks like it was electric at one point fron the hole near the top would make a great light no cracks in lens 19" tall and approx 8" wide. VINTAGE MAXLUMINA MODEL ML-155? GENUINE MARINE NAUTICAL RED LANTERN WORKING LAMP LIGHT. Dimensions: It measures approximately 19" in height by 9" diameter. The lamp was originally produced by the Tideland Signal Company and is probably the Maxlumina Model ML-155. When new. The marine lamp cost approximately $1400. Also, the piece is originally from Baltimore's Francis Scot Key Bridge over the Patapsco River a mile in front of Fort McHenry where Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner in 1814 now our National Anthem and remained there for many years. I bought this from a electrical contractor who serviced the bridge and replaced it years ago. This lantern was modified for home or garden use by attaching a 110 power cord. Antique Vtg Rare Perko Nautical Marine Lantern Port Starboard Combination This cool old Perko nautical lantern is a hard to find model. According to my search for a similar one. The lantern has both port& starboard lenses, with a dividing plate between the ribbed red& deep aqua green glass. The lantern has old silver paint with typical surface age. The interior lamp is brass& shows surface greening. The wick advances. One of the two side mounting brackets on the interior lamp is missing. The lantern displays very nicely& the glass on the lantern is free of any chips or cracks. No dents. It measures 11" high to the top of the holding ring by 4.5" wide and 7" deep. Pair Large Solid Brass Marine Nautical Signal Lights Boat Lanterns Lamp
These are a great pair of Marine Nautical Lights. They are solid brass with heavy ribbed glass shades. They have been rewired and are in working condition. One of the lights has its original red insert so it can be used as a signal light. The 1st picture shows the lights with the red insert in one and a green light bulb in the second one if you wanted to use these that way. Or you can take out the red insert and have both lights clear as in the 2nd picture. Or put in any color bulb you choose. The lights are very heavy. The one with the insert is about 15 lbs and the other 13.5 lbs. These lanterns have handles that you can use to hang them or just for carrying. One of the lanterns has a little more copper tone to it then the other one and has 3 little feet to attach to a deck. The tops can be removed or slid to the side with the screws on ... morethe top to replace the lightbulbs. The globes are marked with a makers name. One of the shades has 2 small internal fissures at the bottom of the globe but they don't go all the way through the glass. There are a few dings and small indentations here and there typical of their age. See pictures) Other than that. They are in good condition and could use some cleaning. This item shows overall wear including tarnishing& minor dents found in the metal. The brass has a nice old patina. This item looks to be missing the base and burner piece; the red& blue lenses are in condition and are free of any chips or cracks. This item measures approximately 10 3/4" tall with ring top& the base width is 5" diam. With the light fin it is 8 1/2" Brass fin can be on or taken off.
