Every Navy vessel carried a variety of Morse code devices on board. The large light next to the wheelhouse on the bridge was the most spectacular and effective one. Handled by a specially trained sailor skilled in signals. It functioned as a ship-bound lighthouse, with the added ability to transmit highly detailed messages. Authentic Models' spotlight dates back to the 1930's and was likely used on a French Navy ship. By moving slatted louvers the signalman sent short and longer spaced rays of light that could be read by trained sailors in the distance. Constructed of polished aluminum, stainless steel and bronze. Wonderful antique searchlight by GE. Plate on front reads PROJECTOR No 27904. DL 1899954-1 TYPE PC 18 FORM can't make out training circuit volts Aug.19.19 GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY CO. The carbide mechanism is long gone but this light has been repurposed with a new 110volt Socket with an Edison style bulb. Looks great. Original concave mirror still in place. The glass in the brass front ring has been replaced with 1/4" plexiglass. The base is not original to the piece, the base was custom fabricated to display this light. The light measures 22 1/2" in diameter and 22 1/2 deep. The light stands an impressive 6 ft tall. The light assembly still oscillates and can be pointed up or down like it was originally intended. Vintage Maritime Ship Light Spot Lamp Antique Marine Flood Fixture Ship Military
This auction is for one vintage ship spot light. We bought this fixture from a local estate. It belonged to a man that served in the Navy as a dentist. This was part of a large lot of vintage dental equipment that we purchased. We were told that it was from one of the many military ships that he practiced on. The fixture does work. There is a separate bulb socket mounted on the plate that supports the round light diffuser that is not wired. But the bulb in the center of the diffuser works(see pictures) Cosmetically, there are scratches and plenty of wear. It was painted black at some point and that paint is flaking and there is surface rust present(see pictures) It has been in storage for quite a while and it needs to be cleaned. I loved the nostalgia of this light that lighted the way for many fisherman and the craze of the deadliest catch. The light comes with the mounting bracket and it looks to have been wired for a plug I plugged it in and i can hear it on but I don't know if the light bulb is burned out. The outside is a cast metal with some great patina from salt water. It does have some minor surface rust on the bracket and looks to be missing some top bolts that is why you see zip ties and i think at one time there was a cover on front.this is a large light it measures 15 1/2" X 15 1/2" X 6" ... moreweighs 29lbs. Brass Flood / Cargo Light
This is a brass ship's flood/ cargo light that measures 10" in diameter at the widest point and 9" in length. It appears to be wired and a bulb in the socket but the wire needs a plug end. One of the brass or stainless screws and a nut are missing as you can see in one of the photos. The glass is not cracked or chipped. There is a piece of galvanized metal with a screw in the the middle that covers a fitting hole in the housing that can be replaced with a correct plug or another fitting. there is no international shipping for this item.

You are bidding on a pair rare of vintage flood/ search lights. Made by Pyle National Company of Chicago. Possibly from a ship or train. We're unsure. One light has been re-wired and works when plugged into an outlet. The other light will need to be re-wired. The second light that needs to be re-wired seems to be stuck in the downward position, as shown in the photo. The light that is working, the glass is cracked as shown in the photos. Both are marked Pyle National Company. Hard to find in a pair! Being sold in the same condition as found. It is very large, and very heavy, and it can turn and swivel but it needs a little muscle. It has a toggle switch but as I said it will need a new cord/rewire. The glass has the name of major equipment co. And I believe Corning. There is a lot of writing on the base, hard to read, because it is backwards, printed from the inside. The glass has no cracks. But does have black specs, probably on the inside of glass. The metal part has nicks. Scratches and a few dents in the back. The front side( light) is approx 13" wide.
