RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN MARITIME NAUTICAL COPPER RIVET
Up for sale is RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN. This is such a great find because as just stated it is UNMODIFIED. Meaning it has NOT been converted over to electric. This lamp features a brass body with handmade copper rivets. All the hardware(rivets. Hinges, hasps, etc) appear to be hand made/forged. The ANCHOR brass label is applied on the top section which opens to expose the burner. The hook and chain to secure the hinged top are still intact. There is also a hinged top cap for flame inspection. When you open the top cap you will see that the chimney is triple insulated. It has a Frenzel type lens which appears to be old and original glass. The oil tank and burner assembly fits snug inside the lantern. Upon removal of the burner assembly from the oil tank. The wick is new and the inside of the oil tank has no residue ... moreor oil smell, suggesting it has to have been either cleaned very thoroughly(with several areas inside the tank unreachable) or possibly never used! Even though it seems to be the latter of the two options we still say possibly due to now documentation or provenance on the lantern beyond the current owner. This lack of evidence of use is consistent with inside of the metal chimney where no obvious traces of soot can be found. The base has aspiration vents all around it. The burner's wick knob has the words"SHERWOODS LTD. B'HAM MADE IN ENGLAND" on it. Making this from the very early 1900s at the latest from what we can find on the company. We have no reason to believe that this burner insert is anything but original to the lantern. Meaning we believe the lantern to be from the same time period. If anyone knows any different please share with us. In use this lamp would have been hauled up the ship's mast with halyards. To secure it as such. The lamp is equipped with substantial brass bail handles on the top and bottom. These are attached to heavy cast brass brackets riveted to the body of the lamp. Antique Wilcox Crittenden Galvinzed Nautical Ship Lantern
Beautiful old antique maritime nautical ship lantern. Punch out design is indicative of Wilcox. Crittendon being the manufacturer. Glass has no cracks or chips. Bronze colored chimney is intact with no bends or and only very slight dings. Metal top ring is still in place. Most lanterns of this sort are missing the rings. Punch out design along the chimney is really cool. The zinc galvanizing, applied to protect the metal from rust has done it's jump. This lantern was likely subjected to sprays of salt water but shows very little sign of rusting. The only exception are the hinges on the bottom plate that were not galvanized but still work perfectly. There is no burner in this lantern but add one and it is ready to go. Could easily be make into an electric piece. Or use it as is as a great nautical decorative item. Posted with

Vintage nautical Ship Lantern brass kerosene oil Maritime running light
Vintage nautical ships lantern. Kerosene/oil. The piece measures about 10.5" tall and has a green lens. Also included with the piece is a spare red lens. The piece is complete, except for a wick. You can see in one of the pictures the interior burner unit. Overall the piece is in good shape, some denting. No markings that I can find.

FABULOUS. Isn't it? Vintage. Brass(with glass inserts) hanging lantern. Inside oil lamp comes out to refill etc. Top unlatches as well too(as pictured) There is an imperfection(which looks like a chip. But you cannot"feel" it by touch) on the actually tiny hurricane glass piece surrounding the lamp piece itself. Residue left on the top"latch" of the piece from previous burning. Antique "Viking" Ship Nautical Maritime Oil Lamp Kerosene Lantern
Vintage Viking Kerosene anchor light. Not sure of the age but not antique. I see other Viking brand lanterns listed as true antiques but I don't believe they are or that this one is. Everything works. It stands 15" tall. 6 1/2" deep and 6 1/2" wide. The glass is all in good condition. No dents, breaks or flaws that I can see. The material seems to be all brass except the rolled edges and corners are brass rolled over a steel rod. This lantern is dirty and needs cleaning but i will leave that up to the purchaser, I am selling as found. This will make a beautiful display or actually use it! From what I have been able to find out this lantern was both electric an oil and this one does not have its oil burner but does have its electric light complete with cord. THE TWO TIER TOP IS BRASS BUT THE REST OF THE LANTERN IS A METAL. THERE IS SOME SURFACE RUST ON THE FRAME AROUND THE GLASS. THERE IS A LATCH ON THE OPENING DOOR THAT CONNECTS WITH TWO OTHER SMALL LOOPS THAT A PIN GOES INTO TO LATCH THE DOOR. THE PIN IS MISSING. Vtg Copper Sealine Sea Line Hanging Ship Nautical Fresnel Type Lens Oil Lantern
This is the classic solid copper anchor lamp used on sailing ships for hundreds of years. The lamp is hand machined in pure heavy-gauge copper with brass trim. Comes with burner and a bit of wick. The Fresnel style lens is made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for 20 nautical miles. The Anchor lamp is named for it's use. A 360 o white light is required to be displayed at the highest point(the tallest mast) on all vessels at anchor or under way at night. These oil burning lanterns were made to be lit. Hoisted to the top of the mast with one rope tied to the handle and a 2nd rope tied to the bottom bail to keep it from swaying as the ship rolls with the sea. A very nice lamp. Ready to use. This lamp measures approx. 10" high x 5" wide.

Up for sale today I have this very nice as found original SOLID BRASS PERKINS MARINE lamp.Tie downs move freely. Font easily removed,wick adjuster raises the wick up and down,one of the brass guard wires around the middle has a slight bend,repairable but I'll leave that up to the buyer.Original brass tag soldered to the lantern frame says PERKINS MARINE LAMP& HARDWARE CORP.PERKO, REG. This is a beautiful copper and brass kerosine anchor light with a nice aged patina. It is in is in excellent condition. There are no dents. Cracks or missing parts. All parts are made with heavy gauge copper and brass. The lens is thick heavy glass. You can see some small air bubbles inside the glass) This is truly a quality lamp that will last for many years. My father and I used this lamp on our many sailing trips on the Great Lakes and inland lakes in Minnesota. The dimensions are 10 and 1/2 inches high by 5 and 1/2 inches in diameter. Vintage Nautical Ship Light Green Lamp Metal Lantern
Vintage ship light in galvanized metal with green lens. The light is in overall good condition- it has more rust stains than rust. I wiped it down but it is dirty. Especially on the inside. The mirrors on the inside are intact, but dirty. See photo#7. The lens is thick plastic- it has a small chip at the top left(photo#11) To the right of the chip looks like a crack but I couldn't find any fracture. This is a true barn find. Large 33" tall 15"wide and 8" deep Nautical ship barometer desk lamp. The ships wheel turns. The lantern on the right also lights up. Made in England this is an extremely rare find. Selling as found with all original dust. Did not put bulbs in and test but seems simple enough for buyer to add. Do not have the original shade but does have the fennel on top to mount one. The photos are the best description. Bulpitt& Sons Solid Brass Nautical Maritime Ship Oil Lantern all original BULPITT& SONS BIRMINGHAM Is embossed on the chimney of the lantern. But barely legible due to a light stamp. The date is also stamped on the chimney but cannot be read. Fully functional. Heavy gauge brass with copper rivets lantern complete with all its original parts. Used aboard a ship as a bulkhead, cabin, wardroom lamp/ lantern. Bulpitt and Sons LTD is imprinted on both the chimney and Bulpitt on the oil tank. Manufactured by famed English maker. Bulpitt and Sons, Birmingham, England. This is an extraordinary and rare item in excellent condition. The lantern measures 16" at the tallest chimney point and 20" with the wooden handle extended. 8" wide at the back, 5" deep. Weighs amost 11 lbs. The back is flat and boasts a huge brass clip ... morewith copper rivets for sturdy mounting. The front is three-sided with glass windows which are all intact, with no cracks or chips. The original brass burner is also in excellent condition with a wick, not sure it is the original. The stamp on the burner clasp reads Bulpitt. A brass reflector wall is behind the burner. The burner looks as though never used and slides out easily through the glass door on the right. There is also a slide on the side of the door that moves to expose an opening without having to open the door. The chimney top opens and the entire top is hinged to flip back allowing access to the chimney. It even still has the solid brass knob on the front lower corner. There are a few small dents consistent with its age. But it does not detract from the overall beauty of this gorgeous piece of British seafaring history. This would make a great piece to add to any maritime nautical collection.

First is that it was used on a railway train lantern or train bridge signal light. They other response I got was that it was a ship's signal light or used for navigation through fog. The lantern measures 11"H x 7.5"W and has a small removable oil lantern that enters the lantern through a small hole in the base of the lantern. I left the metal the way I found this piece and only cleaned up the glass globe. I do not see any reason why this lantern would not function properly. They are solid copper with glass lenses and appear to be very nice quality lamps. We believe that these were made in the 1960's era as replacements for the original antique lamps. Nautical Ship Lantern (City Metal Company) with Red Pyrex Globe
Rare City Metal Nautical Ship Lantern. This lantern is known as a Dark Lantern. Because of the shield that could be raised to conceal the light. Made from 1910-1923, they were used during World War 1 by the U. S. Navy and Merchant Ships. The globe is red and marked Pyrex at the top. It is about 5 1/8" high, it is a straight cylinder shape with four"ribs" that run vertically. No cracks or chips that I can see. The burner is an original Simplex Burner, used in City Metal lanterns. It is marked E. Miller& Company on the wick adjustment knob. On the top of the dome lid is marked City Metal. City Metal has a unique design for the air holes, not seen in other Deck or Dark lanterns. The lantern measures 17" high to the top of the handle, and about 7" at the base.
