Antique Copper Oil Lantern Lamp Cut Glass
This is a copper lantern that measures 18" tall and 6 1/2" wide across. It has 6 glass sides with cut stars and vines? There is a glass oil lamp base, no wick or top that is fitted into the base of the lamp. the door opens at 2 two panes on a copper constructed hinge and latches closed. all solder joints in decent shape for its age, just one cracked pane of glass. I was really excited to find this old lamp at an estate sale. I have no way of determining just exactly how old this is. But based on the electrical switch, and wiring, I would say it is definately antique. I have never seen anything like this before. The anchor is hand carved out of wood, and the the fixture is attached to a cast iron holder. There is a letter"K" on the switch for the lamp. It measures 11 1/2" tall, 9" wide, and 7" deep. There is a wire hanger thru the hole on the top of the anchor, to hang it on the wall. The most incredible thing about this old lamp is.IT WORKS! The wire is cracked from age, and could be replaced, but I couldn't bring myself to change this lamp in any way. A great collector's item. This is an authentic original nautical/maritime portside glass lamp enclosure that many years ago was fashioned into a simply put. Fantastic lamp. There is a socket on the inside that illuminates the red glass and I must say that it looks incredible lit up. Obviously there is a socket at the top as well that will require the lamp shade of your choosing to complete the piece. I chose not to clean and scrub the piece so as to depict the age and authenticity more clearly. This is absolutely not a reproduction. I believe this starboard red lamp enclosure sat atop a piling somewhere in some waterway for who knows how many years. Huge Antique USLHS US Lighthouse Service Triangular Corner Gas Lamp Lantern
For your consideration is this original antique early 1900s USLHS lantern or light! Please continue to read for further details. And check out all the pictures of the item you are bidding on. Please save me as a seller or bookmark my auctions. As I will be listing in the next few weeks an amazing collection of historic items, paperwork, advertising and some toys as well. This auction is for a large corner or triangular gas lantern or light. It has the USLHS mark on one side. For the United States Lighthouse Service. The very top is also stamped LP, unsure if this is for the fuel or where it was located. This huge lantern has many great features but also needs TLC as well, so please look at all the photos, read my detailed description, and ask any questions prior to placing a bid! The lantern measures a large 22" tall without the handle ... moreand 29" tall with the handle. It is triangular in shape. With each panel measuring about 14" wide. Originally there would have been two glass panels with wire cage frames. One is missing and there is only a few parts as shown in the last photo. The other side has been soldered shut but appears complete with the frame and the glass. The side that is open is the side that has the USLHS mark right above. The original swinging bracket is still present, has lots of solder but still is there. Inside the lantern are three vents and two fittings for what I presume would be the gas. One fitting is starting to come off as the solder is letting go. Inside is very dusty and dirty. And you can see the solder throughout the base. Does appear to be strong and not broken as far as the base goes. The back has a unique brass or possibly copper brace and square tubing to vent the gas to the top. It has heavy wear and solder from many years of use. Really has great patina. There does appear to be split in the middle of the tubing, small but there. The wire bail handle is nice and strong. And the top vent that is stamped LP is also nice and strong with no rust or severe wear. The very bo

Antique Maritime Heavy Ship Light Lamp Deep Blue
Estate sale find. This is a heavy duty water proof ships navigational Blue lamp. It's 9 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide and the mount on the bottom is 7 1/2" across. The glass is deep blue and has some chips but no cracks. This would make a great lamp or art project. Made of brass and iron. A gimbal allows something that contains liquid to self level in a situation such as a ship where the floor would not remain horizontal, something you would appreciate especially with a lamp holding flammable fuel. There is an old wick coming out of the burner side, and a thumbscrew that will open the filling space. The gimbal is made of iron, a gracefully curved heavy bar that would have been placed into a hole in a post drilled to hold a lamp such as this. The lamp itself is made of brass, made to withstand heavy duty use. When you remove the thumbscrew, the plate on the top will lift off with the wick. We could not find another example like this one so we are calling it rare. What a great chance to obtain something that would have been vitally useful in its time, but is a relic now that predates the electric light bulb. Hello. You are viewing my sale for an Antique"Eli Griffith& Sons Ltd. 1911 Birmingham" Nautical Lamp Or Lantern. My research shows that this may be an English Royal Naval Lamp however I am not 100% certain of this. This lamp is engraved on the front underneath the top section lid that lifts up. This top lid locks in place by the latch. The entire lid also lifts open. This item appears to be made from copper and brass however I am uncertain of the exact types of metal used. The lamp measures 15 and 3/4" tall by 8 and 3/4" wide by 7 and 1/4" deep. It weighs 8.6 pounds. The glass panes are all in good condition with no breaks present. There is some minor dents present as well as some wear. There is also a small opening in the metal on the top reverse section. I am unsure what may be missing from this lamp. Although I could not find any markings. Use your own judgment. And look at the pictures carefully. They probably date back to the 1890s. The brass has been painted over with black paint. They both have been wired for electricity and don’t have their burners. Although their reflectors are present. They measure approximately 17” high to the top of the handle. And 7-1/4” wide. One lantern still has its mounting bracket. And the globe has a crack on the side(approx. 3” long) Also that cap on top is missing a small piece where it would attach to the lantern.
