19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE AUTHENTIC AMERICAN MARITIME NAUTICAL PAIR OF IRON& GLASS OIL/KEROSENE SHIPS LANTERNS with lovely ORIGINAL THICK GLASS RIDGED GLOBES. Condition is very good with some imperfections as these lanterns each have two holes each in the side of each of the bases where they were to be used for electricity probably which is not present now-they have no bottoms(see pics) or burners(see pics provided of underneath and sides of lanterns. These Ships lanterns were are genuine and are not vintage or reproduction pieces but were used as nautical maritime equipment on a ship and as such are in period condition. THEY WERE A PAIR WHICH WERE PART OF A RECENTLY SOLD PROMINENT GUILFORD. CONNECTICUT OCEAN ESTATE. They are in an iron frame and housing, each has a slightly different'cut-out' design pattern around top dome and matched ... morebottom base-one is a cut-out circle design and one is geometric design(see pics) The frames are strong and stable holding the glass globes tightly and securely(see pics) There are rings at either side of the bases(see pics) The top of each lantern has a thick original iron ring in which to hang the lanterns up for lighting on dark nights(see pics) underneath the ring is a lovely original bronze finial cap under the ring(see pics) These lanterns are in period condition with wear and abrasion to surfaces as is seen and obvious in pics-view all pics provided. There is one tiny chip to glass at/under a glass ridge which is very small and one tiny flea bite at edge of one ridge as well-these dimensional ridged glass shades/globes are near perfect with only these small defects which is quite remarkable for their age-the antique pair of matched thick glass shades are original to the 19th century antique ship's lanterns and each globe measures approx. 6" tall(approximate) x 6" wide(approximate) Glass is in its original period condition and is very thick with lovely raised ridges(see pics) The antique Ship's nautical lanterns are quite large and heavy and each weigh

Antique Sailing Ship's Cabin Oil Lantern on Gimble with Wick & Hurricane Globe
This is a small sailing ship cabin copper/brass oil lamp with glass hurricane globe mounted in a gimble for full motion on a rolling vessel. I have no idea of it's exact age but likely from the late 19th century. It's tarnished and I haven't attempted to clean it up. It measures approximately 7 1/2/ H by 3 1/2" W and would stand away from a ships bulkhead approximately 4 1/2" and weighs approximately 1 pound. It has the glass hurricane globe intact as well as a frabric wick so all you would need to do is fill it with keroscene(or whale oil? and light it up. Wonderful old lamp from the days of sail. Antique Maritime Oil Lamp Gavlvanized appearance but may be Brass
This Nautical Antique Oil Lamp has a galvanized appearance but I feel this is a patina created by use. I feel it may be brass or chrome plated brass as a magnet is not attracted to it. I did not want to disturb the surface as some of my buyers may appreciate the natural aging. It is 8 1/2" tall not including the top ring and 4 1/2" wide. The bottom screws off to access the oil. Container and wick. The globe in design looks something like those found in a lighthouse. As you can see from my description this is not my field of expertise, but this little lamp obviously speaks for its self to the maritime collector.

Antique ships hanging lantern from the days of the grand sailing ships. This metal steel or iron(its magnetic) lantern was produced by H.A.G. Helvig MANUFACTURERS NEW YORK as shown on the tag on bottom front. Features a 2 sided lantern with a rounded front. There is a red circular glass shield in front of the kerosene or oil lantern wick. Back door has a slide into the hole to lock in place. Lantern can be hung by the top of slid onto a post on the backside slot. This is a riveted and welded piece with no screws as would be in a modern style lantern. SOLID with NO rust outs of holes. Unusual Antique "Perko" Maritime Bow OIL Lantern ~Starboard & Port Lenses
Vintage“Perko” Maritime Bow Marker Oil Lamp Port& Starboard There seams to have been some repair to secure the Lenses and a Copper divide has been welded in on front of lamp. The Main case is galvanized metal and the top is brass. The Body is in good condition. With a mounting bracket on back and a Perko" oval stamped brass logo plate. The Lenses are red and a green(Port& Starboard) and in Perfect condition The Oil Burner seems to be a working unit with a wick still in place. The bottom of the lamp has a pinch clip insert. This is a very old oil lamp of some kind. Round.Solid brass, top unscrews to refill it. Wick is nice,yet. See pics. This is the only part i have. There are 2nubs on the side of lamp. One on each side of brass ball see pics. I do not know what this balanced on, but obviously, that is what it did,see pics. That makes me think naut,ical. But honestly dont know. I have the most unique item up for auction ~This is another piece that Im not quiet sure of what it was for~But. I believe it was for oil on a ship`with the ship painting on it. You can see the holes in the container, under the lid~and the lid self latches, and cannot be removed unless it is ligned up. Possibly for lanterns. Heavy~brass, and in really good condition, I don't want to clean it, as I prefer to let the future owner make that decision. We unearthed this in an old barn pick!~very exciting!
