Antique ship nautical boat electric lamp light. Brass bronze coppper? Oakford
Up for auction to U.S. customers only is an old ship's light with Fresnel glass(no chips or cracks to glass) It stands 15 inches tall and the wire cage is 8 inches across. I am not sure if the primary metal is brass. Copper or bronze- or a combination-but a magnet doesn't stick to it. It is very heavy. It is made by Oakford. There is a light bulb socket inside but it probably isn't original and, without the cord plug, I can't test it. If it was originally electric powered, then the wire outlet on the side looks like it held a much larger power cord. The lid screws onto the top for access to the inside. I'm not sure how it was used on board the vessel- some other listings refer to it as a mast light, others describe it for use on dock pilings, others say it lit the passageways on the ship. If anyone knows for sure, let ... moreme know and I'll add it to the listing. Overall it seems in very good condition with a few relatively minor scratches to the lower finish and, of course, the green discoloration which some people call patina and want it left on the piece so I didn't try to clean up that section(new owner can do that) I don't know anything else about this item so please ask questions. Antique Solid Brass Boat Lamp Early 1900's from Staten Island
This lamp may be handmade. It has a shade and it was made to hold a wick and kerosene. But the key that pulls the wick up is missing. Still it is a nice addition to a collector of maritime equipment. There is a piece of tape holding a white sticker: Old Brass Boat Lite $56- and then three initials that I cannot make out. I found it in my aunt's attic. She grew up in South Jersey and her father worked a sloop. Her husband was captain of the ferry that ran back and forth from Staten Island to Manhattan.

Rare 1920's original 8" fog bell lamp marked on inside of bell. PERKO, Perkins M.S. Co. Bklyn, N.Y. 07-61" Since I couldn't find a similar Perko fog-bell-lamp form anywhere, I contacted the Perko Marine Lamp Corp in Miami Florida with photos of the lamp. They said that this was originally manufactured by Perkins in this lamp-form and that it is not a custom piece made outside the factory by an individual. In their library they found only a 1920 and a 1932 catalog. In the 1920 catalog, they found a lamp that had similar fittings. I believe the markings inside the bell date this lamp to sometime between 1922 when the"PERKO" trademark was created and 1932 when the company name was changed to Perko Marine Lamp and Hardware Corp. It has a well-aged patina. Height from bottom of base to top of eagle finial is 20" ... moreDiameter of bell is 8" Bell has a wonderful resonant. Distinctive fog bell sound. Lamp is in good working order. Not sure if the wiring has been changed at all- the electrical plug is the old-style with prongs of even width. Antique Maritime Oil Lamp Gavlvanized appearance but may be Brass
This Nautical Antique Oil Lamp has a galvanized appearance but I feel this is a patina created by use. I feel it may be brass or chrome plated brass as a magnet is not attracted to it. I did not want to disturb the surface as some of my buyers may appreciate the natural aging. It is 8 1/2" tall not including the top ring and 4 1/2" wide. The bottom screws off to access the oil. Container and wick. The globe in design looks something like those found in a lighthouse. As you can see from my description this is not my field of expertise, but this little lamp obviously speaks for its self to the maritime collector.

Really lovely antique brass spot lamp with all original intact components. I think this was once the spotlight on a boat because it is all brass. But I can't be certain because i cannot find another one like it anywhere. There are no markings of any kind. Measurements: 10" tall overall glass lens is 4.25" in diameter base is 3" across Original Mazda lightbulb. Original reflector in fantastic condition, some of the original wiring is intact in the brass coil housing. If i knew anything about rewiring. I would refurbish this in a heartbeat and make a really cool and unique lamp.

This antique brass/copper oil lamp is in excellent condition and has a beautiful patina. Only 2 tiny dings at the very top of the chimney about 2mm wide. It measures 13.5"H by 7" W. I can not find a makers mark. But I don't want to polish it to find out. Many antique dealers prefer brass or copper items in there natural aged state. The glass is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks and is beveled. Still has the original oil container with wick and the wick turner does rotate.

Antique Ships Brass Lamp Blue Glass
This item is an antique ship's lamp with blue glass. It is very heavy brass or bronze. Eight inches tall, six in diameter, this has not been converted to 110Va.c. I see no maker's mark, only the numbers 9-S-4461-L. The glass has two chips in it, one 1/4" and the other 1 inch.
