They each ... moreweigh 20 lbs. They stand 16" tall. 11" wide, and 22" long. T hey have not been altered or painted. The c ast iron is in good condition. One andiron has two hol es: a hole near the wa ist and one on the cheek. You can spot the holes by the white on that andiron. The last two pics show the small cracks or holes. Our guess is that the white stuff is high temp putty put on by the factory when the andirons were cast to secure those thin areas/cracks that happened during casting. Since they were sand casted. Its not an exact science and the thickness varies. Also the one with the putty on it bends to the back a little bit. I suspect the original paint burned off and thats why you can see the putty. The logs fit properly in the dogs. They could easily be painted again or oiled. But I chose to leave them in their original state. If it is not pictured. I did find another example of these and they were sold by a dealer in Europe, and they said that they were bronze and they said that they were made about 1890. They measure about 18 -1/2 inches tall and 12 inches wide and 4-1/2 inches deep. I have not been able to find any signs of damage, cracks or repairs. One of the cherubs is holding a little book and the other does have a small hole where something could have been held in place but it looks like the hole was never used and you have to look close to even find it.

We bought these in the late 1960’s and used them for a few years in the fireplace before putting in a wood stove. They have been stored in the garage since the early 1970’s. Pair Of Louis XV Style Gilt And Patinated Bronze Winged Putti Andirons/Chenets
Made in France sometime between 1850-1900. They were placed in front of a fireplace to protect priceless rugs and flooring from rolling logs. Only the grandest homes would have had Andirons as beautifully designed as these. Two patinated bronze winged Putti rest on a contrasting bronze gilt 12" high, 12" wide, 18" long There is a small crack at the bottom of the gilt on one Andiron, there are two close up picture provided above. There is also one screw missing that holds one of the Putti to the gilt. This pair of Putti Andirons have only been cleaned with mild soap and water. Leaving over a hundred years of natural oxidation and patina to show threw on the bronze. Presented for auction is a pair of Vintage Figural Victorian Style Cast Iron Cherub Angel Andirons. The Andirons are in very good to excellent condition and were generally displayed in our fireplace in months when the fireplace was not being used. Each Andiron measures 16 3/4" tall x 8" wide and the dogs/arms measure 16" from the back of the Andiron. There are no markings of maker and we purchased them approximately 20 years ago from a shop so I would say they are approximately 20 to 30 years old but I am not an expert. Pair of Antique Cast Iron Andirons Fire Dogs in a Arts and Crafts Mission Style
Here is an old pair of cast iron andirons in what looks like an arts and crafts. Mission or gothic style. They stand 17 3/4" high and are 9 3/4" across the front. Unfortunately, the one has a piece broken off at the back end so the log holder portion on one is shorter then the other plus it is bent for some reason. The one is 17 3/8" in length and is a little chunky, but very minor, at the very end. The shorter/bent one is 15 1/2" in length. We see no markings on these. As you can see from the pictures. They both have rust on them and are very dark from use. It looks like there was a copper/brass coating or wash over them which is pretty much worn away. We cannot get the bolts off. Although they stand nice and sturdy, we are selling them"as is" due to their condition. They each weigh almost 11 lbs. We could only ... moreget the bolt off the one with the broken log end and could not get the other one off. So we will have to ship them the way you see them in the last photo!

Pair of Antique Gothic Style Andirons. They are in good condition. The metal which is copper bronze is greenish from age, and the iron is rusting. One of the andirons is missing a ring on the side(replaceable) They measures 20' by 12' by 10' each, and weighs 7 lbs each. Some information state these are Rococo in the style of Louis XV. These are very ornate and have a unique design and detail. they stand just over 16 inches about 10 inches at base and about 18 inches front front to back portion( which goes into fireplace) they weight over 7 lbs each They are bronze. Brass no marking. These appear to be in very good condition based on their age. One may wish to clean and polish however the way they look now may leave some history behind on these two great pieces.
