An tique Blacksmiths Foot Bellows Elm& Leather. This is a superb set of bellows dating from around 1900. Maybe earlier. Made from solid english elm& thick leather. I presume these are blacksmiths bellows and would be linked to furnace via the metal tube at the front. Beautiful age patination to the elm and the leather. A really interesting and great looking piece. This would be excellent in a open fireplace. The bellows work fine, you could attach a leng th of tubing and actually use them. For sale is this nice old vintage long handle fireplace bellow. Made of wood with black leather(a small tear on one side. See pictures) this still holds air. The wood is very solid, does have a few scratches and scuffs, but in good condition for the age and considering it's used. There is a nice brass eagle on one side and a brass end. Very old fireplace bellows. Stored inside a basement for many. Many years and has that basement scent especially when you blow it and air comes out. Rust on most of metal on this piece and rust/tarnish on nozzle. Paint on leather/wood does appear to come off when I lightly rub fingernail but it will not be removed. No major damage to leather. Spot with white paint and sticky. There are surface marks on wood. Leather and metal including scuffs/scratches. Sticky on one spot looks like from tag or something. Original sticker on back says made in japan. Please see pics to help with condition.

Thanks for looking! Up for auction is a rare 1800s fireplace bellows in as is condition. It is made by S. Obermayer Co and appears to have a patent date of Aug. 22' 99. The bellows on this item is completely unattached as can be seen in the pictures. This would make a great addition to any collection of rustic and early American items. there also appears to be a crack in the back. But can easily be repaired. The object is either painted green, or has a beautiful green patina. Please look at all of the pictures to determine the condition of the bellows. This bellows has a history that dates back to the early 1800's. It is from an Inn that was a stage coach tap room and rest home for overnight travellers. It measures 15 3/4" long and 6" across the belly. The leather is intact. There is some gnawing at the end on one leather piece that could have been from a mouse.
