Pair of Heavy Estate Ornate Brass Antique Fireplace Andirons Chenets
Up for auction is a beautiful pair of antique brass andirons. I would like to first point out that there is a piece missing on one of the andirons- it's the piece that goes into the hole in one of the hinges. This piece does not effect the way you use these andirons. Nor their ability to stand. As you can see in the pictures it is not really something one would notice unless you're looking for it. They are a beautiful addition to any fireplace. However, due to the missing piece, I am selling these andirons at a very inexpensive price. I will be honest. I do not know much about these andirons, except to know that they come from the estate of the great-great grandfather of a friend of the family. Hopefully they are not worth hundred of dollars and I am practically giving them away LOL. In which case you will have won the jackpot! This is a very rare pair of large antique victorian copper and brass fireplace andirons. made in mid to late 1800's they are made from extremely thick copper and brass and are extremely heavy. in a victorian style with exquisite detailing throughout. the base if footed with large routed ornate feet and the center has a heavily embossed female face and a fleur-de-lis underneath. it is very thick with bubble and floral trim. the base meets the large copper globe with a ribbed brass section. the globe shaped body is made from very thick copper and also is very ornate with demonic faces connected with hung fruit. Beautiful very ornate Victorian fireplace fender. This is a large and heavy piece the bronze was originaly had a gold tone finish. The piece has never been refinished and now has very warm patina. This is a large piece 72" by 19" overall. 64" by 13" inside. Uurn ends are almost 18" high. The urns are eye catching and made of layered marble. Two of the small round screw on medallions(shown in my hand) are missing from the back of the base under one of the Urns(not very noticeable) They could be reproduced from a mold of one of the other 14 originals. I have had this piece for 50 yrs. My guess on age is 80-100 yrs but it may be older. Pair Antique Brass Ornate Fireplace Andirons Claw Lion Foot Cast Iron BENNETT
Here is a beautiful set of antique brass. Very detailed and ornate fireplace andirons with cast iron backs marked BENNETT. Claw feet, acanthus leaves around the top, a pattern similar to fleur de lis up the front and side of the top. Very, very detailed; there isn't a part that doesn't have some kind of design on it. The feet alone are double knuckled, detailed and measure 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" to give you an idea of size. Some of the fanciest ones I've seen. They are in excellent condition. Each one measures 23" tall. 18" deep, and 10" across the front. These are quite heavy.

Antique late 1800's Ornate Victorian Fireplace Surround. The dimensions are 30 1/2" x 30 1/2" This is a great looking complete fireplace surround with aged patina and finish. I am unsure if the metal is solid cast iron or if it is a brass over cast iron as there are some surface scratches on the face and it appears to be bright brass(see last photo) Its in Great condition with a beautiful old patina and is ready for display. this is an absolutely stunning pair of rare antique ornate victorian brass fireplace andirons. they have an obscure design with a dual andiron on each piece. they have a great 3 dimensional flame finial which is very detailed. The back/ wood rests are made from cast iron. With a brass plate over the top, and this is where the second is located. the brass has a great patina from age. one measures 22 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 17 inches back to front. there is slight ware to one of the back finials but facing toward the back it is hard to see. and some blacking on the back of the backs as well but will buff or clean up. great rare set. Description This is a great mantel that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home. It looks to be made of mahogany and is currently painted white. There is a backsplash with small carvings above the shelf. The shelf itself is curved and trimmed in beaded molding. The legs have carved wreathes and bellflowers. The breast has a carved corbel in the center with great carvings to either side. The carvings are wood. I did a couple of test scrapes as there are many coats of paint. Stripping would bring back the details. It measures 59.5 inches wide. 54.25 inches tall and 11.75 inches deep. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. Antique Cast Iron Fireplace Grate w/ Insert, Wood or Coal Box Ornate Design
This old 1800's grate was my grandmothers. Who was born in the 1800's and married in 1901. She used this to burn both wood and coal to heat her home. It measures 24"wide X 11" deep X 12 1/2" high. It is in very good condition for a used antique item of this age. It has No broken or missing pieces. I have not found the first bit of damage to it anywhere. It does have some surface rust, especially in the back. The front has little squares across both the top and bottom rim of the box with an ornate floral design down both sides in the front. It has been painted with a light green(sort of sage color) oil based enamel that has partially worn off. It is marked on both sides L for Left and R for Right and the number 24 is on the inside front panel.On the bottom it is marked 24P. We are pleased to offer this exquisite. Antique, French Rococo fireplace screen. This beautiful screen dates from the 1940s and features beautiful detailing. It is HEAVY and made of gilded brass. The screen features Louis XVI styling with a center medallion of love birds seated upon tree branches. The top of the arched screen features crossed torches and wreath. The screen has trailing acanthus leaves and vines with a drapery swag across the bottom. The frame is raised upon elongated feet of scrolled acanthus leaves that resemble claw feet. This is a lovely antique screen with timeless design. It is in very good antique condition with some aging to the patina in a few areas. For sale is a CAST IRON ORNATE ARCH TOP FIREPLACE COVER WITH A MIRROR ENCLOSED. This fireplace cover was manufactured by William H JACKSON& COMPANY in the 1800'S and is marked with the WH Jackson name on the back of the cover. The cast iron cover was removed from a victorian mansion in New Hampshire. During the 1800's. Cast iron arch top covers were used during the summer to decorate the front of fireplaces.
