Vintage Cast Iron Solid and HEAVY Fireplace Irons Tools With Stand NICE
These REALLY look like brass. But a magnet sticks to everything, so I am assuming it is cast iron. They are at least from the 70's, because they were in my Mothers house for at least that long. They are very heavy, and solid. Of course, there is some slight surface rust and signs of age, but no damage or abuse to call. I think they will clean up beautifully! The poker is a little bent, but nothing that cannot be straightened if it bothered you. The stand's handle unscrews, from the base, so I will separate it for shipping. That should just about do it! Vintage Fireplace Tools Irons Brass & Copper? Cast Iron Base Mid Century Modern
I have sold several vintage/antique estate found. Fireplace items here on eBay but these are a bit more unique. A nice 4 piece set containing tongs, poker, shovel& stand. Constructed of a classic mix of materials w great style and design. These tools appear to be constructed mostly of brass w copper shafts. The poker and tongs have heavy cast or wrought iron tips. The stand has a uniquely and well designed top that looks like fish hooks(i cant tell if its brass or copper) a great functional design to contain the tools in the stand. The base of the stand Is also constructed of heavy cast iron& trimmed w brass and has stylized corners. Nice original vintage used condition w expected petina. Sold as found any cleaning/ polishing is left to the buyer. The andirons have a hammered finish and full cannon balls on top. They are both marked“1919” and“L& R” for right and left. This vintage classic design will make your fireplace look awesome. This is the best pair of andirons we have seen in a long time. New/Used: Used. Approximate Dimensions in Inches- Andirons are 8 ¼” wide at the leg bottoms and stand 17 ½” tall. The two horizontal bars stand 3 ¼” from the floor. The total distance from front of guards to back of horizontal bars is 18” The balls are 3” in diameter. Condition: Very good. Hello! Up for Auction: Here we have an Amazing Rare Vintage Antique Metal(either cast iron or wrought iron. I'm unsure of the difference) Andirons, Very Heavy and in Great Condition! These dog irons(as they are called. I think) are a complete set, original antiques, with no breaks, cracks, or damage, screwed together at the bottom(pls see pics) Note: at some point they were painted over w/ primer and gold paint for a fake fireplace. I am unsure if they were repainted w/ high-heat paint, but I know for sure other than the paint, these Andirons are intended for a real fireplace. They may need to be stripped and refinished w/ an original high heat paint/finish. All a simple fix and touch up worth doing to bring it back to looking stunning in your real fireplace!
