One has a very old repair that gives nice character. they each measure 22 inches tall by 8 inches wide by 22 1/4 inches back to front. they are nice old andirons. They are definitely old and resemble andirons/ firedogs from the period of the Arts& Crafts movement. They each measure 32.5 inches in height x 24 inches in length and 15 inches across the base. There is no signature or hallmark on the andirons. It is possible these are older than the Arts& Crafts movement because of the possett cups. Possett was a popular medicinal drink from the medieval period to the 19th century. The andirons are in excellent condition and quite heavy. Outstanding 19th century antique solid bronze Revolutionary War Hessian soldier fireplace andirons in excellent condition. Original patina with forged iron support legs. These measure 20" tall x 9" wide at the feet and weigh over 40 pounds. The bronze Soldiers are up to 2" thick at the widest point. Support legs are 18" long and have some expected and customary extremely light surface rust. One leg has an ever so slight twist from heat mentioned only for the sake of accuracy. Here is an absolutely amazing pair of Tall Baroque19th Century Chased Brass Andirons The bottom of the Andirons are of the Coat of Arms of the City of Amsterdam which consists of a shield and a band running vertically down the center of the shield. With on that field three Saint Andrew’s Crosses. Above the shield is the Imperial Crown of Austria and two golden lions flank the shield. The top of the andirons have wonderful balustrades and urn shapes. These are wonderfully intricate impressive pieces. I have not cleaned the andirons if you wish me to do so I would be happy to. But I am waiting for the new owner to let me know. They have a very interesting provenance. They were owned by a Baron who purchased antiques all over Europe for his Estate in Mexico. He was found murdered and his lover was put in jail for the crime for a couple of years ... moreuntil he was found not guilty. This is a stunning pair of mid 19th century brass and iron fireplace andirons. they are very ornate with intricate detailing and have a wonderful patina from age. they are nicely footed with dimensional claw feet and nicely curved legs. the shaft and ball top finial are deeply ribbed with a detailed filler piece in-between. the finial is very large and also topped with a solid brass finial. the back wood rest are large and made from cast iron. One has a very old repair that gives nice character. they each measure 22 inches tall by 8 inches wide by 22 1/4 inches back to front. they are nice old andirons. There are some dings to the ball tops. Made of stamped brass sheeting nailed over molid wood, with a slanted top featuring relief panels depicting scenes of midevial or renaissance characters. Being offered is a fantastic pair of early 19th Century Federal Style brass and iron beehive andirons or fire dogs. This pair measure 17" tall. 8" wide, 5 1/2" long and weigh about 4 lbs each. They have been lengthened with an addition piece of metal welded on so they stand for display(see picture 7) Overall the condition is excellent with an age appropriate warm patina. The brass is around a wrought iron core and there is a seam in the middle. The legs are solid brass with well defined spurs.
