This is a great pair of owl andirons with large amber glass eyes. They are a nice size. There is a ruler to show size. On the bottom of the log holder it has the number 1120- L. Cast iron with brass plating. plating is worn in some areas) Please view photos. Condition is good with no chips cracks or breaks. Great for the fireplace. Please have a address. Antique Cast Iron Owl Andirons Amber Glowing Glass Eye Fireplace
Antique owl cast iron andirons with amber glass eyes. Condition as shown on pictures- some scratches and pitting to the glass eyes. One of the andirons has a new shiny screw connecting its owl to the horizontal crosspiece that supports the logs(it is loose and causes the owl to lean forward. I believe that it needs a better screw- that should be an easy fix. The glass eyes catch the light from fire and twinkle ever so magically. Each owl is approx. 13 inches tall.

Each brass portion m easures approx. 14" tall x 9-1/2" wide across base& 2" deep. and each weighs approx. 6.5 lbs of solid brass. The brass owls are well molded& have beautiful amber glass eyes that will glow with the light behind them. They are each marked on back 407 E. so we understand they were manufactured by the Rostand Manufacturing Company. Milford, Connecticut. Antique - Vintage Cast Iron Electric Fireplace Grate Ornate Heavy w/Amber Glass
This Is a very old Antique Vintage Electric Fireplace Insert(Victorian? I believe it is Cast Iron construction. not sure if it is brass/copper plated but does have a goldish color on metal in spots. I did not clean it. I just dusted it off and wiped it down with mild cleaner. There is a switch on the side of this piece to turn this on. There is a wire top over the(2) red bulbs that hold the Amber Glass placed on top of metal to give the appearance of embers. The one light socket has a heat activated spinning vane that makes the embers(glass) looks like they are burning. This piece is very, very heavy.
