This is a marble mantle for a fireplace. The top of the mantle is 61" wide and 14" deep. The top is 1 1/2" thick marble. Overall height is 45 1/2" from ground to the top. You can see from the picture that this mantle is not installed. My contractor called me from a sale. Told me about the mantle, sent a picture, said it would fit and asked me whether I wanted to buy it for my living room. I agreed and was prepared to do the work to restore it. It turns out that it didn't fit once I got it home. AHHHHH! I would really like to re-coup my investment so please buy it if you can use it or want to fix it up and re-sell it. The mantle is a soft white with gray veins. The surround has less color. The screen is a brass color. I don't know whether it is solid brass but judging from it's age my guess is that it is. The screen itself has some rust on it. It will be a beautiful addition to any fireplace when it is restored and you will have gotten a bargain. There is a domed cutout for a heater vent(cast iron grate) and a fancy cast iron front. The top mantle shelf is serpentine. Use this piece on a wall for accent.
