They came from an antique store many years ago but were never actually used in the most recent home these came from. They were used for decor purposes. I'm not sure when these were last used in a fireplace. The andirons both measure 19" long. The width at the faces are 3 1/4" wide. These fireplace andirons have been sitting in a dry and non smoking environment. These would make an excellent housewarming decor gift idea. Hessian Soldier Andirons, Cast Iron
These are cast iron. Hession Soldier Andirons. I am not certain of the age but do know they were in my grandparents house in the late 50's so they are at least 60 years old, likely older. The soldiers stand 20" tall and are 20.5" front to back(the back legs are approx 19" long and welded to the back of the soldier) It appears someone attempted to repaint these but since they have looked like this since the late 50's, it was done sometime prior to that. Other than the paint, they are in very good condition, no cracks or breaks that I can see. Unfortunately due to the weight, I am offering these for local pick-up only. They are located in Randolph. Vtg Cast Iron Fireplace Andirons Brass Finish Large. These andirons are the same ones that were in my parent's(non-working) fireplace in the 1950s. They have probably been stored in the attic more than they were displayed. They have never seen a real log! Measures about 17 inches tall and with the arms( I forget what they're called) are about 16.5 inches deep. Marked L and R and the fronts are stamped 1351 I think and the arms are stamped 1129 again. I think. I can't make the numbers out very well. Very heavy they weigh almost 9 lbs. ea. No damage other than dirt. Dust and rust. for more great items! This is a great example of hand forged craftsmanship of long ago. They are a perfectly matched pair. Yet each is unique. Prior owner told me that these were from late 1800's to early 1900's but that is according to them. My stepdad looked at them and noticed that they look a lot like they may have been handmade from railroad tracks. They are very cool looking and no matter what their origin. Would make an awesome addition to any primitive style or railroad themed room! Peck Stow& Wilcox Company I found these great Owl Andirons in my 94-year-old father’s estate. They’ve been in my family for as long as I can recall. I remember as a boy staring at the yellow glass eyes as the fire lit them from behind. These very beautiful(and very heavy. Each one almost 7 pounds) Perched Owl Andirons are in amazing condition. There are NO breaks, cracks or signs or past repairs. The yellow glass eyes look just like new, and the light of the fire makes them glow like the owl is alive! It is rare to find all four glass eyes in PERFECT condition; there are no cracks. Chips or scratches on the eyes. The Owl measures 15.5’ tall and is 9.75” wide at the base. The firedog(the piece that the logs rest ... moreon) measures 14.75” long. One of the firedogs is missing. They sell replacement firedogs at fireplace shops and it simply slides into a track on the back side of the andiron. The markings on the inside of each andiron are P S& W Co. There are two other markings a‘G’ and‘S’ stacked over one another to the left of the company stamp. See Photo) You may see others of these available but none are in as great condition as these with all for eyes in mint condition! These andirons have a rich history from Southington. this is an estate find of a vintage set of old andirons. these measure 19" tall and 10" wide. the base that holds the wood is 19" in length and 4 1/4" tall. they have a beautiful medieval gothic design with hammered detailing and a bronze hue. there is a"J" on the back of each andiron(see pic) not sure of the manufacturer or year these were made. they look like 1930's or 1940's. i am new to selling on ebay which means i don't have much feedback yet. please let me know how i can help you feel more comfortable if this concerns you. thank you so much and happy bidding!

ANTIQUE 1920s CAST IRON FIREPLACE ANDIRONS FROM OLD SPANISH HOLLYWOOD MANSION
NO RESERVE… This auction is for a handsome old pair of Fireplace Andirons. For whatever it is worth. When I purchased these at an estate, I was told these came out of an old Spanish Mansion in the Hollywood Hills called" The Castle" that had been owned by Rock Hudson. Rock Hudson bought the"Castle" house on Beverly Crest Drive the early 60s, and owned it until he died in 1985. The house has likely changed hands several times over the years, and I don't think there is anyway to substantiate that provenance. I looked up photos of the inside of his home on the internet, and found nothing in them that shows andirons closely. I do know many Hollywood stories, get embellished over the years, so I would not put a lot of stock in any story of what belonged to whom. I don't think stories like this one adds anything to the ... morevalue, but is just an interesting bit of Hollywood lore. These Andirons are indeed old 1920s era. And have a handsome design on the front. It looks to me that they have a bit of Chinese design on the front. The front legs look a bit like legs of a Foo Dog. Each one measures approx. 10 inches wide at the front feet, and about 17 1/2 tall. It looks like they were originally painted black, but there is a lot of wear to the paint. There is dark surface rust on the back of them. I have used a yellow pencil to point in a couple of my photos at one of the andirons. I am pointing at the iron arm stand on the backside. That would go into the fireplace opening. It looks to me like the end has broke off at some point, a long time ago. That piece can be removed and replaced if someone desired, or could be used as it is. Both andirons are marked on the back, Pullman, New York 622" There is a single screw post bolt on each one that connects the front piece to the back arm, that goes into the fireplace. These need to be removed for shipping, to save on the cost. When I was removing one of the screws it sheared off(broke) so I drille

They look great as a decorative item. The cats eyes are green marbles that glow when backlit. The cats are 16.5 inches tall. They do have some minor wear to the finish but no cracks or damage. Antique Cast Iron Owl Andirons Amber Glowing Glass Eye Fireplace
Antique owl cast iron andirons with amber glass eyes. Condition as shown on pictures- some scratches and pitting to the glass eyes. One of the andirons has a new shiny screw connecting its owl to the horizontal crosspiece that supports the logs(it is loose and causes the owl to lean forward. I believe that it needs a better screw- that should be an easy fix. The glass eyes catch the light from fire and twinkle ever so magically. Each owl is approx. 13 inches tall.

Here is a beautiful set of antique brass. Very detailed and ornate fireplace andirons with cast iron backs marked BENNETT. Claw feet, acanthus leaves around the top, a pattern similar to fleur de lis up the front and side of the top. Very, very detailed; there isn't a part that doesn't have some kind of design on it. The feet alone are double knuckled, detailed and measure 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" to give you an idea of size. Some of the fanciest ones I've seen. They are in excellent condition. Each one measures 23" tall. 18" deep, and 10" across the front. These are quite heavy.

this is an absolutely stunning pair of rare antique ornate victorian brass fireplace andirons. they have an obscure design with a dual andiron on each piece. they have a great 3 dimensional flame finial which is very detailed. The back/ wood rests are made from cast iron. With a brass plate over the top, and this is where the second is located. the brass has a great patina from age. one measures 22 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 17 inches back to front. there is slight ware to one of the back finials but facing toward the back it is hard to see. and some blacking on the back of the backs as well but will buff or clean up. great rare set. Each cast in the half round depicting a figure of an owl with articulated crown, beak, feathers and feet standing on branches, with glass eyes, with molded inscriptions on reverse, 4000-2" and"HOWES" The firedogs are inscribed: 1775-1 MADE IN USA. They are in untouched condition. This is the large version, that measures 20 3/8" tall. Most that I've seen measure only 15" tall. The way the glass eyes ... morewere made, it appears that they follow you, when you move to the right or left. They are 12-1/4" long/deep with the leg attached and 4-1/2" high to where the logs would rest. They are in Very Good to Excellent Condition for their age. This is a rare set of antique cast iron full body horse andirons. From the early 20th century. They both stand 10 1/2" tall by 12" wide by 16" deep and have no damage or repairs. They both have great original patina that I have done no cleaning on them and will leave that up to the winning bidder. They are both marked on the arm sections. One is marked, 120 E R" The other is marked, 120 E L" I believe 120 is the mold mark with the E being the company mark and the last letter meaning right or left. The detail on these horses is superior with great articulated detail to the eyes, mane, ears, mouth, nostrils, tail, and the hooves. They are well made and would look great in front of a fireplace. These Arts& Crafts hammered cast iron andirons each measure 18" in height. 23" in depth and 8 3/4" across the bottom. They are marked on the back of the uprights 8927 and on the underside of the log billets Bradley& Hubbard in triangular logo. The andirons are in very good condition. No cracks, breaks or repairs. Antique Painted Cast Iron American Revolution HESSIAN SOLDIERS ANDIRONS 19th c.
The earliest Hessian Soldiers andirons were cast probably around 1800th. More andirons were cast after the Civil War. And foundries continued to cast them from the same mold into 1920th. The quality of the casting is the way to distinguish the old from the new: as the mold became worn the later casting are less sharp. Up for auction are 19th century Hessian Soldiers andirons with original paint. The casting are still sharp and they could have been cast any time from 1860. They each measure 19 1/2" h x 9 1/4" w x 19 1/2"d. Total weight is 38 lbs. The andirons are in great condition. Please see the pictures for more details. Antique Cast Iron Fireplace Andirons - Cooking Ring - Cross Shield Design
Offered is a pair of Antique Cast Iron Fireplace Andirons handed down through family. Probably Arts& Crafts era. Very heavy& sturdy. Left in it's original condition with surface rust but does not appear to be any structural damage. Natural patina of age. The"cooking ring" the cross shield design adds a lot of character, as well as the natural patina of age. Andirons measure 19" tall. 10 3/4" wide, and 15" deep. Marked"152" on each.
