They measure 18 1/2 inches tall and are 16 inches deep. They are 9 inches wide at the base of each piece. These are in good vintage condition. Vintage Fire Place Andirons/ Dog Irons/ Fire Dogs, 18" Tall x 8-1/2" Wide x 1-1/2" Thick 7" Front to Back. Marking are 3713 on both. 1969 L on one, 1969 R on one, 6 on one, 7 on one, J on both. They are heavy thick cast iron. Very good condition with no breaks. Cracks or repairs.

Hello! Up for Auction: Here we have an Amazing Rare Vintage Antique Metal(either cast iron or wrought iron. I'm unsure of the difference) Andirons, Very Heavy and in Great Condition! These dog irons(as they are called. I think) are a complete set, original antiques, with no breaks, cracks, or damage, screwed together at the bottom(pls see pics) Note: at some point they were painted over w/ primer and gold paint for a fake fireplace. I am unsure if they were repainted w/ high-heat paint, but I know for sure other than the paint, these Andirons are intended for a real fireplace. They may need to be stripped and refinished w/ an original high heat paint/finish. All a simple fix and touch up worth doing to bring it back to looking stunning in your real fireplace! Antique Brass 2 1/2" Canon Ball Andirons Fire Dog Irons w/ Patina 27 1/4" x 14"
Antique Brass 2 1/2" Canon Ball Andirons Fire Dog Irons w/ Patina 27 1/4" x 14" These andirons belonged to my wife's grandmother. I would guesstimate they are from the late 1800's- early 1900's. They are made of brass and iron. I'm fairly certain the iron is hand forged due to the inconsistency in the shape. The brass head piece has a 2 1/2" canon ball top& small ball feet on the ends of the legs. There are a couple of very minor dings on both of the canon balls as can be expected with anything of this age that was designed to be used. The legs were bent a little and I tweaked them a bit to straighten them out. Might need a tad more tweaking. As far as I know they have there original patina and have never been shined. They are approximately 27 1/4" long x 14" tall x 5 1/2" wide. The square ... morenut is rusted in place and will need to WD-40 or something similiar if you wanted to loosen or tighten. The brass ends can be turned as the nuts are not super tight. Please email us with any questions about this item. Payment or shipping terms.
