They each ... moreweigh 20 lbs. They stand 16" tall. 11" wide, and 22" long. T hey have not been altered or painted. The c ast iron is in good condition. One andiron has two hol es: a hole near the wa ist and one on the cheek. You can spot the holes by the white on that andiron. The last two pics show the small cracks or holes. Our guess is that the white stuff is high temp putty put on by the factory when the andirons were cast to secure those thin areas/cracks that happened during casting. Since they were sand casted. Its not an exact science and the thickness varies. Also the one with the putty on it bends to the back a little bit. I suspect the original paint burned off and thats why you can see the putty. The logs fit properly in the dogs. They could easily be painted again or oiled. But I chose to leave them in their original state. If it is not pictured. Carter's Grove was open to tourists for many years but closed its doors to the public in 2003 ... morewhile its mission and role in CW's programs were redefined. In December 2007, the Georgian style mansion and 476 acres were acquired for $15.3 million by CNET founder Halsey Minor, who has announced plans to use the property as a private residence and a center for a thoroughbred horse breeding program with the Phipps family. A conservation easement on the mansion and 400 of the 476 acres is co-held by the Virginia Outdoors Foundation and the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. Caution is required in figuring out where the good examples end and the restored or re-manufactured examples begin. This book was beset by controversy almost from the start, as within a year a broadside was circulated by an ironworker stating that he had made many of the examples of ironwork illustrated by Nutting. Still, as with other Nutting books, the sheer volume of furniture illustrated, as well as the important place these volumes have occupied in the literature for over three-quarters of a century, make them worth having. Very Early American Hand-blown Carafe circa 1750 Appraised on Antiques Roadshow
This carafe was appraised and evaluated by Antiques Roadshow and dated circa 1750. It is hand blown and shaped. It valued at auction for $750.00. There are markings such as very small lines and bubbles within the glass that are specific to the very early Amerian glass blowers. There appears to be a tiny inner crack in the neck near the lip as shown in the third picture. It is a beautiful piece and remarkably well preserved. There are no chips or cracks other than what I have mentioned. The wear on the piece is all on the bottom as I have pictured. It is a heavy piece weighing 3.2 lbs. It stands 9 inches tall and the widest part of the bowl measures 6 inches across. I will pay insurance on the shipping since it is such a valuable piece. Thanks for looking!

This book is one of the 350 plus books. Exhibition and auction catalogs that I will be offering here over the next couple of weeks or however long it take to complete the task. All of these items are from my own personal collection which I have spent the last 40 years accumulating. You will find a great mix of antique related material covering a broad area. Early ceramics, early furniture, pre revolution Russia reference, Native American, guns, iron, Shaker are just a few of the eclectic areas covered. It is 14" x 10" in size. SIGNED: Mary Spellmire. Vintage.from the days at Turtlecreek Potters before Greg and Mary Shooner married and went into business on their own. This would be perfect for the dealer or collector of country primitives. Absolutely perfect condition. No chips or cracks. Just normal mold marks on the back. The signature is hard to see in the photos but if you use the mouse it is to the top left of the stamped pottery mark. And the white marks on the front are just from the flash. Francis Patrick Garvan[1875-1937] was an American lawyer and long-time president of the Chemical Foundation. Serving as a director of the New York office of the U.S. Bureau of Investigation, an Assistant United States Attorney General, and Dean of the Fordham University School of Law(from 1919 to 1923) In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson appointed Garvan President of the Chemical Foundation, a post he held until his death. Garvan and the Chemical Foundation played a role in the founding of the American Institute of Physics, and, in collaboration with Charles Herty, the founding of the National Institutes of Health. Vintage Native American Black Foot Tribe Beaded Belt Antiques Collectibles
Vintage Native American Beaded Belt. I purchased this belt about 20 years ago at a collectibles auction in Macon. Missouri. It was advertised as being from the Black Foot Nation Tribe. Measures 38 inches in length by 3 wide. Made of heavy, thick leather. It is set up with a strap and buckle such that the separate beaded band covers the belt when wearing. Would fit a waist of about 32-34 inches, that is if one would want to use it as a belt. It is a large, bold, solid belt and a great collectors or display item.
