The base of each andiron has much detail including figural bust. Floral, scroll, classical architectural swag. The rear legs are cast iron. Each with a Pine Cone Finial. The andirons have a Paw Foot. Each andiron measures 19" tall x 9 1/2" wide x 19" deep. One cast iron leg where attached to the brass column base has had some work at some point in time possibly creating a minor crack in the seam and the rear adjusting bolt on each leg has been replaced with older bolts. There is a minor ding in the large ball of each column but otherwise in very good condition and stunningly beautiful. These are in as found condition. Not cleaned, with great patina. Please look at the pics to see the beauty of these andirons. These andirons have an old Livingston Antiques. Charleston SC tag on them. Pair of Heavy Estate Ornate Brass Antique Fireplace Andirons Chenets
Up for auction is a beautiful pair of antique brass andirons. I would like to first point out that there is a piece missing on one of the andirons- it's the piece that goes into the hole in one of the hinges. This piece does not effect the way you use these andirons. Nor their ability to stand. As you can see in the pictures it is not really something one would notice unless you're looking for it. They are a beautiful addition to any fireplace. However, due to the missing piece, I am selling these andirons at a very inexpensive price. I will be honest. I do not know much about these andirons, except to know that they come from the estate of the great-great grandfather of a friend of the family. Here is a beautiful set of antique brass. Very detailed and ornate fireplace andirons with cast iron backs marked BENNETT. Claw feet, acanthus leaves around the top, a pattern similar to fleur de lis up the front and side of the top. Very, very detailed; there isn't a part that doesn't have some kind of design on it. The feet alone are double knuckled, detailed and measure 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" to give you an idea of size. Some of the fanciest ones I've seen. They are in excellent condition. Each one measures 23" tall. 18" deep, and 10" across the front. These are quite heavy.

this is an absolutely stunning pair of rare antique ornate victorian brass fireplace andirons. they have an obscure design with a dual andiron on each piece. they have a great 3 dimensional flame finial which is very detailed. The back/ wood rests are made from cast iron. With a brass plate over the top, and this is where the second is located. the brass has a great patina from age. one measures 22 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 17 inches back to front. there is slight ware to one of the back finials but facing toward the back it is hard to see. and some blacking on the back of the backs as well but will buff or clean up. great rare set. A pair of old brass andirons. Age is hard to determine. But I would think that these date to the first part of the 20th century. They screw together in pieces and mounted to a black iron rod. They appear to have been polished somewhat recently. They are a little lose, so the probably need to be taken apart and put back together(notice that the top cap of the left is a little cock-eyed) Each stands about 17" tall and their depth(with the black rod) is about 19" Please email with any questions. Antique Federal Period Brass Andirons, C. 1810, Chippendale Style, Full Seams
This is a pair of late 18th to early 19th C. Chippendale style andirons in brass with iron returns. Appropriate to their age. They are have full-seams, hand peened rivets, and a very old patina. They are 15.5"H, 8.25"W, and 16.75"D. There is a repair near the base of one upright, another repair at the base of the other, and some solder is visible. There is slight corrosion to the very top of one andiron, and there are a few small gaps in the seams of the andirons' sections. However, they are sturdy and appropriate for use. Antique Brass Andirons circa 1800-1840
offered here are a rare and handsome pair of early American brass Andirons. They measure 23.5 high. By 19.75 deep, by 11.5 wide. They are made of brass and iron. The hollow brass sections that have seamed construction. The internal rods that hold up the brass sections are made of wrought iron and are square with hand cut threads at the top. They are peened over at the bottom holding the legs and iron firedogs together tightly. The log stops are held in place by a small wrought iron rod that is square with hand cut threads. These iron rods have an interesting spiral effect(see photos) and are peened over on the bottom of the firedog. This type of construction is typical of early 19th century andirons. The brass sections are sand cast in two separate halves and then soldered together. Then they would put these parts on a lathe and turn and ... morepolish them. You can still see the vertical lines Where they were soldered together if you look closely; The feet on the bottom are cast in halves. Soldered together and turned as well. This is a somewhat unusual feature of this design. These Andirons are of excellent quality and workmanship. They would have been produced for a wealthy. Upscale home. They date from somewhere between the 1800's and the1840's. After this period they began to use different construction methods so these are definitely an early pair(see photos) They have a beautiful patina which appears to be very old. It is a bluish green verdigris patina on top of a rich brown colored brass. The places where the verdigris has come off reveal a very deep brown almost black patina on the brass. The blue-green is not completely balanced and uniform. One of the Andirons appears darker in the photo. This is partly due to a shadow in the photo, but is also due to this one has more of the brown patina visible, especially on the upper section and the lower left feet. I believe that you could remove this green verdigris( if you so desired) very easily without disturbing the brown patina underneath. They would have a

Vintage Antique Cast Iron and Brass Andirons Complete Nice
Here we have a pair of antique cast iron and brass andirons. They are complete with back log racks. They are in excellant condition as I have brushed the bottoms and painted them a flat black to protect the iron from rust. The brass tops need a lot more brass polish put on them but they will shine up nicely. The andirons stand about 20 inches tall. The base is 8 inches wide and about 3/4 inch thick. The log rack is 16 inches and are 3/4 by 3/4 thick. I will take these apart so they will mail in a Large flat rate box.

The feature beautiful solid brass claw feet with a Chippendale style pillar design. Overall they are in great condition with some light signs of wear as seen in photo number#7 which would probably clean up.
