Description This is a beautiful mantel that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and is unpainted. The varnish has alligator-ed in places. The bae has egg and dart molding framing the opening. The top is supported by 4 fluted corbels with carved festoons between the corbels. Tall mantels usually have a mirror at the top but this one has a bookcase with 2 doors. There are 3/4 round columns at the corners and a backsplash at the top. Unique piece! It measures 59.75 inches wide. 81.25 inches tall and is 14.75 inches thick. The firebox opening is 41.5 wide by 35.75 tall. Overall. It is in good condition. Only bid if you intend to follow through with payment after sale. Old pair of cast iron Eastlake fireplace andirons. They only have a number 82 on the top. No other names. They measure app. 15 1/2 inches tall by 9 inches wide at the base by app.17 1/2 inches deep. I don't believe the legs are original and one leg is marked shunk-b as the pictures show. The legs may have been homemade with scrap iron. They are dirty with black soot and a little rusty from being stored in a Northern Maine barn for many years.I have left them as found.
