Up for auction are 3 antique/vintage cast iron claw feet for furniture. I am not a subject matter expert. they come from the estate of an elderly couple and could have belonged to one of their parents. Not sure of their history! They are claw shaped and have a glass ball. Each measures about 3 3/8" long and 1 1/8" across the opening. There is one hole on the side but no screws. They are a rusty orange color. not sure if that is original or they were painted that way. there is some of that color on the glass balls. Up for auction is a beautiful pair of antique brass andirons. I would like to first point out that there is a piece missing on one of the andirons- it's the piece that goes into the hole in one of the hinges. This piece does not effect the way you use these andirons. Nor their ability to stand. As you can see in the pictures it is not really something one would notice unless you're looking for it. They are a beautiful addition to any fireplace. However, due to the missing piece, I am selling these andirons at a very inexpensive price. I will be honest. Mirror is applied with painted flowers(iris) It is in good condition except for the back covering. It has probably sit to close to the fire and thru the years have overheated and ruffled and run down as can be seen in the picture. He served as President of the Board of First Baptist Church for many years, was an active Republican and know widely throughout the area for his extensive library. Antique Mantle Wood Early 1900's Not Refinished
I am selling an early 1900's Wood Mantle as shown in above picture. It is competely authentic and not re-finished like some of the others you see. I am pricing this piece to sell as soon as possible because frankly I need the money and it's taking up a lot of space in my garage. I haven't taken measurements but it's taller than me and I'm 6'3" I'd estimate about 6'8" tall and 6' wide. This thing is huge and was a pain in the butt moving. It is heavy that's why I am selling cheaply and as PICK UP ONLY. Compare the price on this to some of the others. I have been selling on ebay for over 8 years now. But I've never sold anything like this and not anything nearly this big. It came out of a home built in 1898 that I own. Description Super fabulous pair of antique brass andirons-chenets with ornate designs of swags with lions heads on the bottom of the large end and flame top finials. Each measures 20" wide and 17-1/2" tall and extend back 6" They are heavy. Each weighs 17 pounds. I have shown them with a can of coke so you can see how large and impressive they are. Details are shown on the top under the flame and on the sides. The andirons have recently been polished but still retain a deep, rich patina. There is a hook on the back of the bar I have shown in the last picture- there may have been a bar as part of the set at one time. Antique French Provincial Style Tall Electric Mantel clock marked Louis XV
This is a rare French Provincial Style clock.So it's very formal and could go in almost any room. This gorgeous piece can be a tall mantle clock or go on any table or nightstand or chest of drawers. Very versatile decorating piece that designers love to find. The clock is working fine. This lovely estate sale find is in perfect vintage condition. The face of the clock is gold and very ornate with Roman Numerals and thats where it's marked Louis XV. There are no other maker's marks that can be seen. This gorgeous piece is 11.5 inches tall at the tallest point and 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. I don't see any scratches on the clock or glass face. Fine condition. Here we have an amazing cast iron fireplace surround complete with frame and door. It came from a home built in 1901 and mantle it was with was dated 1901 on the builders label. As you can see it has an incredible Outdoor Scene with deer and a 12 point buck and other very ornate detail. There are glass pointed jewels inset in blue and amber. The bottom features flowers and trumpet vine leaves wrapped around a tree branch or a small trunk of a tree. At the top sits a the body of the butterfly with pointed ears. Interesting that the body looks like a rabbit. With ... moremolded round eyes staring out! The tail is more like a lizard. There are holes for antennae that are long gone. Beautifully detailed work. So different! Rare! We have never seen another one! We have pictured some of the cracks in the glass as well as what it will look like just sitting in your house(the last 2 pics) Exceptionally heavy. Sits with an attached metal supporting bracket that comes off of the body on the back for stability. The fireplace screen has to be lit from behind to look its best. As with all stained glass. Put this in front of a large window and watch all the light come through! Or place in front of your fireplace when it is not burning, as the heat will adversely affect the metal as well as the stained glass. A long cast iron bar is screwed in along the back for support that is original to its manufacture. The support bracket on the back is also cast iron and it is adjustible. We could not find any marks. Offered is an antique cast iron fireback with a fitted surround. I believe this is a French pieceand circa 1850 or earlier. The fireback is 25 1/2"high and 20 1/8" wide.It has Hymen. The Greek God of marriage, naked and holding a torch. There is a flying cherub/ putti above his head dropping roses and a bowl of roses being watered by a cherub. The top has a raised area that extends out. The center design has a scrolled design. The metal is smooth on the center and lightly pebbled around the frame. There are 2 knobs on the front, one slightly dented. The surround is 31 1/4" high and 25 5/8" wide with flowers and scrolls on the frame with a center oval medallion. Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home. It is made of oak with a light coat of reddish brown paint. The upper shelf is trimmed in beaded molding. It is supported by tall round columns with ornate capitals. The lower shelf is curved with carvings on the face supported by a center bracket. The firebox and beveled mirror are framed in egg and dart molding. It measures 60.5 inches wide by 86 inches tall and is 12.5 inches deep. The firebox opening is 41.5 wide by 39 tall. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The upper shelf has chips at the corners. I purchased this beautiful cast iron fireplace fireback years ago from an old house/grocery store here in the midwest. I have looked on Ebay and the big net and have not seen one like this. This was made in 2 molds. The elk scene is set in the iron frame with 4 bolts and nuts. Which is unusual I believe. The elk scene looks bronze in color in high relief. The frame is hammered on the outer portion with leaves being embossed on the inner portion. This is all in 3D. I think that this fireback looks like a framed picture. It is simply stunning and words or photos will not do this piece justice. When I got this and cleaned the smoke and such off of it and could see the real picture, I then loosened the two upper nuts and put a wire on it for hanging purposes.
