Here is a lovely antique cast brass peacock fireplace screen that opens with four leaves on each side to a width of about 36" There is a figure of a profile surrounded by leaves. Flowers and swaths in the center section. It stands stands 27" high. Including the handle. The base is decorative and heavy and measures about 11" wide by 7" deep. Photos show front and back side. Cast Brass folding peacock style fireplace fan. It folds up and locks shut with a small bar on each side. Bars are slightly bent but do lock fans up. Brass is in very good condtion.no corrosion anywhere. Fans are in good condition and open and close easily. This fan has been in my closet for more than 15 years. Brass has not been cleaned in that time. The filial at the top turns sideways to lock fans. For easy handling. It is quite heavy to pick up, and sturdy. Beautiful Mahogony Wood and Hand Painted embossed leather tri folding three panel fireplace screen. Beautiful colors that really make this piece stand out. The colors are a mix of black. Green, yellow and sort of an orange color. I was able to find this fireplace screen in a catalog from the manufacturer dating it from 1920-1930. At that time it was a very expensive piece of furniture to own. It cost more than most people made in a week. It still has the Brass metal plate attached to the bottom with the product number and manufacturers name. The FERGUSON BROTHERS MANUFACTURING CO. in Hoboken, NJ was an upscale manufacturing company having started out in New York prior to opening in NJ. They opened in Hoboken in 1900 and closed in 1945. It is in excellent condition with a few little scrapes here and there. I've taken photos of both sides, ... morethe back is a solid brown color. I originally thought I'd like to have added another false back to it to give it another dimension such as possibly taking a large picture that I liked but wasn't worth a lot and cutting it to fit the panels or even painting the back in another design, but I didn't. The brass has nice patina that creates warm and not shiny look. Large bow finished with the ribbons in Art Deco style on top of the screen makes this screen extremely attractive. Four round brass balls decorate the top of the screen. Matching four round legs on the bottom keep the screen above the floor. The screen has three sections and it folds. When folded it could be stored away easily when needed. The screen has sturdy and strong construction because it is made from two frames(internal and outside) which are connected together by the links in the middle. The brass frame is heavy and sturdy. The height is 31 ½” from the ground to the top of the balls in the middle section of the screen(this ... moresection is higher then the side sections) The middle section is 25" wide. The side sections are 13" wide. The screen is heavy and weights 27 lbs. Beautiful screen to be used in living room or family room. Will look great with any decor(traditional. Beautiful old fireplace fan. That measures 37" when open and stands 24 1/2" tall, folds shut and fastens, it is very pretty and in very good condition, the far right blade has a slight bend on the top, but can be straightened easily, and is not noticeable when opened. Early Antique Iron Three Piece Fireplace Screen Fleur De Lis 1800s SALE
Early Antique Iron Fireplace Screen This iron piece is from an old stone house that was built in the 1800s. I thought it was an iron screen that would go in the back of the fireplace to reflect the heat outward. But the owner thought it was used to cover the fireplace opening during the night to keep the house warm and keep the fire from coming out of the fireplace opening. It is made of three pieces of heavy iron. Has an embossed fleur de lis pattern and raised trim. there are hinges or hooks that hook into the other pieces. Once hooked together, the sides of the screen can be turned so the piece stays upright. Please note that one of the hooks(on the bottom of the right side panel has broken off. In good antique condition, solid and sturdy, very nice early piece. The larger.
