These came straight from an estate of a long time antique hoarder. they are made of cast iron and are 15 1/2 tall and 9 1/2 wide at the legs. because these were found in the barn they have a nice rust colored patina. i did not touch them at all. Pair Neo Classical Fire Dogs Andirons for Gas Fireplace Bronze Decoration Accent
We used these in our last home. We wanted the classic fireplace look of Andirons or Fire Dogs but waned them to sit in view in front of the glass screen. These worked great and looked very nice place on either side of the fireplace. They are 14 1/4 inches tall and are in a classic Greek Urn style. They are a cast metal with a bronze finish. I dont know what metal they are made from. Acorn tops.

The measurements of the Andirons are 16" height, 19.5" wide outside foot to inside end. They are considered Handcrafted Iron Art from many years ago. These Andirons are heavy and weigh about 28 pounds each. Fireplace décor for colonial home, not just for looks but for keeping the logs off the ground in the fireplace! Sturdy quality casting. They have no manufacturer's markings. Each has a few small areas of wear, light scuffs and scratches to the finish(see many pics below) In my research. I found that the oldest versions of these to be found are marked Liberty Fdy. St. Louis MO on the back. I've seen others with the same marking, but"China" was added to the stamping. This pair have no markings. Not sure what to make of that. The dogs can stand on their own and don't necessarily need the"leg" portion.
