5 1/2 inches tall. 3 inches diameter, a neat egg with open jagged top with chick sticking head out the side of it, old green base and chick feet are down on the base, very very old and a plaster pottery like substance, but relatively thin material, has a variety of markings on the bottom, an o with line through it, a T and a dot and 3539 and some letters embossed that I cannot make out. The material and the looks of it reminds me of item made in the late 1800's in Central Europe and especially Austria. no chips or cracks or flakes. Could probably be cleaned, but I have not touched it. Fresh from a good old estate auction. Not sure of its use, maybe just to sit around. Royal Bonn Rare Spectacular Oval Handled Jardiniere/Vase Mehlem Germany ca 1900
I have for your consideration a large and spectacular dated and numbered Royal Bonn dual handled jardinière/vase bearing the Franz Anton Mehlem Factory mark used between 1875 and 1890. I cannot locate any signature. But as the pictures will attest to, this piece rivals the artistic talent found on any Limoges, Belleek or Pickard hand painted item! The oval jardinière/vase is absolutely stunning not only just in color but also in shape. As well. The mold is rare and simply exquisite. The background color of the porcelain is a fabulous ivory. The handles originate in a sweeping arc from and curls up and around the sides forming a sweeping/rolling rim edge around the mouth opening. This rolling edge is done in a gold trim and raised beading and also forms a pleasing opening in the front and back. The inside of the mouth rim in feathered ... morewith gold gild. Raised gold leaves adorn the underside of each handle and swirl around and accentuate the body of the jardinière/vase. The front and reverse side of the jardinière/vase is done in hand painted roses bouquets that are different on the both sides. The jardinière is circa 1888 to 1920 according to the bottom mark. It is numbered and signed. It measures 7" high or 8.5" to the end of the handles and 9" long at the base(16" with the handles) It is 6.5" wide and it is 2 kilos The jardinière/vase is in great antique condition with very little crazing on the bottom. And some dark spots inside. Overall, it is exclusive piece and spectacular example of antique pottery. It will be a great addition to any collection or an unforgettable gift for the coming holidays. Vintage RED WING c.1930's Vase Or Planter In the Floral Medallion Pattern/Design. Embossed. The Underside of the Planter/Vase bears the impressed Mark: 1185. RED WING U.S.A. Nice oval-Shaped piece has a paneled. Puffy bulbous bottom, 2 short curled handles and embossed floral design, front& back. Also has an outward flaring rim at the top with a cut-out on each side. Footed bottom. Wear inside at bottom. See Pics) Done in a cream color with a Satin-Like finish and highlighted in dark brown. Very elegant looking and rare piece! There is one tiny chip on the top. Also has a hairline crack on the inside of BOTH sides. Right near the seam. No cracks on the outside. Although there is some fading and some light scuffs. Small crack underneath.
