The New York Stoneware Co and the number 4 is impressed. The flower ... moredesign is a very dark cobalt blue. Each side has an applied elephant ear handle. Circa: 1859- 1885. Fort Edward. NY) Measurements: 11 1/4" tall. 11 1/2" in diameter at the top. Base 11" in diameter. Floral decoration is about 5" wide X 6" tall. The blue floral decoration has dots and circles. Condition: This crock is being sold AS IS. This is a solid crock but it has issues. Large Blue decoration has excellent dark cobalt blue color but has a chip at the top branch. Shown in picture 2. There is a large chip at the rim above the ear handle, picture 8. The same ear handle has a chip underneath the handle, shown in the same picture. On the outside, there is a spider hairline that starts on the bottom and runs up the side, see close-up picture in picture 5, 10& 11. I would not trust this crock to hold water. There is one small chip in the dark brown glaze on the inside, last picture. Picture 5 shows a raised dark spot on the outside which appears to be from the manufacturing process. See all pictures. This is a large 19 th century jardinière that was made by Etruria Pottery. It has handles on each side and floral decoration on the front which gives it an art nouveau look. This has deep cobalt coloring on the handles. Center and around the foot. It would make a great centerpiece for a table. The piece is 11 inches tall and 15 inches wide at the handles. It has lots of gilding though some of it has worn off. It is quite heavy, weighing 13 pounds. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs. This will be double boxed for shipping. These were made in Staffordshire(England) by Ralph& James Clews between 1820-30. The shape of these is rather striking and very unusual with their angular appearance and I love the floral relief decoration on these! The under trays measure approx. 9-1/2" long(24.3 cm) and 7-1/2" wide(19.2 cm) The baskets measure approx. 10-1/4" long(26 cm. Offered in this sale is a wonderful French art pottery jardiniere that was made by Sarreguemines in the later 1800s. It is marked on the underside of the base with an impressed mark which you can see illustrated in the 2nd image. It measures roughly 9" tall x 11" in diameter at its widest and weigh close to seven pounds. The diameter across the top opening is just under 9 1/2" The decoration features gold gilt over swirled bands of cobalt blue and maroon. The condition is very good. Antique 1890 Earthenware Ohio Pottery Purple Lg Cache Planter Pot Victorian Era
Here we have a Vintage 1890's- 1910's Earthenware Factories& Potteries Ohio Pottery Cache Pot. Purchased last year from an elderly couple's estate where there were many antiques and collectibles. This large and Very Unusual Victorian era colored pot measures 8.5" tall x 9.5" in diameter. There aren't any cracks but there are two insignificant chips on the bottom ridge of the pot, as shown in photo. THERE ARE MANY GLARES IN THE PHOTOS Therefore difficult to get any photos without glares. So. For this reason I took many photos. There is gold along the top ridge with some of it being somewhat worn off. There are variations of purples(which are true to color in the photos) and it gradually changes to lighter colors as you move down towards the bottom area of the pot. The darker decorations are sort of a very dark ... morepurple/black with the outer edge of them showing more of a purplish tone and being partially and sporadically outlined in gold. The gold has faded to a light purple in areas. The leaf decorations are just what you see in a pink/purple color matching the lower color tones towards the bottom area of the pot. These too are very faintly lined in possibly a gold or faded gold into a light purple. The handles also have worn off gold on the sides and it looks like the gold areas have turned sort of a purple in color as it has done in other areas. The inside isn't bad for as old as it is. Some stains on the inside bottom that I have not tried to scrub off. With all the intertwined letters on the underside hallmark it was hard to tell one from another. Co. is the only thing that I did know. There is also a stamped and incised"446" I was told by marks4ceramics.com that this is definitely an American pot from the 1890's- 1910 era. I was told that it is either Ohio Pottery or Pioneer Pottery as both worked in the same area using the same raw materials and skilled artisans from the same communities. Up for auction is what I have identified by the mark on the bottom. Is an Ott& Brewer Etruria Pottery of Trenton, NJ Jardiniere Planter. This jardiniere is in excellent condition. It has a green transferware pattern all the way around with a very intricate floral design. It has embossed bands of leaves and has two embossed marblized bands in a brown shade separating the floral design. It has minor gold wear- nothing distracting. It is clean, with some glaze pops inside. Marked on the bottom Etruria in red over glaze with a 2921 gold decorators mark. It measures 11" handle to handle and stands approximately 8 3/8" tall. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a little blast from the past. I believe this is probably vintage 1940's-1960's pottery at it's best. It is stamped"Artistic California 506" on the bottom. I believe this is a Clam Shell design.but the little neighbor boy thinks it is a"bunch of carrots standing in the ground" Cute. But he might actually have a career in art since he seems to have an eye for it- LOL! Most kids would probably not even care or wager a guess. This planter is in mint condition, no chips, cracks or repairs. Looking closely I do not see any crazing or missing glaze. I do notice that this burgundy glaze also has flecks of Teal or Green in it, very pretty. If you think you see white spots that might be missing glaze- it's not, it is just ... morelight shine. I did a little research and there was a Southern California company called"Artistic Potteries Company" based in Whittier, California and it produced Art ware, giftware& figurines during the 1940's. This planter is 5 inches tall(to the tallest"carrot top" ha ha) The top opening is 9 3/8 inches long by 3 1/2 inches wide. The base is 4 1/2 inches long by 2 5/8 inches wide. This is a very nice piece from a much simpler time. I guess the bonus is that kids find it intriguing too! The simple lines and single color are a departure from what you normally find from age of jardinieres. We were not able to identify the maker, who left no identifying marks that we could find, but the color of green glaze is consistent with the late 19th century. The stand itself measures approx. 21" tall and 12" in diameter, the jardiniere measures approx. 14½" in diameter by 10¾" tall. There is general cracklature to the glaze and there is a restoration to the rim of the planter. They still have a lot of life left in them, ready to grace your porch or sunroom, bringing in a splash of Victorian style and bright colorful flowers should you choose to fill this with an abundance of blooming plants. An antique genuine henry alcock parisian porcelain piece. Most likely is a sugar bowl type container. We have just left it on our mantle as a decorative vase piece. Probably came with a lid, which we don't have. It is marked on back with Florence I which is most likely the style design. Makers mark matches pottery made on 1890-1910. Structurally in great shape with some specs of staining which could be how it was originally made. Ships fast!
