Magnificent Victorian Hand Painted Pottery Jardiniere Great Colors 19th Century
This auction is for a Fabulous Hand Painted Antique Victorian Pottery or Earthenware Jardiniere. With its bold colors of Cinnamon and Cobalt and its heavily Molded Form. This Jardiniere would instantly become the Decorative focal point of any room. I have owned/sold many Jardiniers over the years but this one is among the most beautiful and uniquely designed. Around the pot. There are 6 Cartouches with images of white flowers against a Cobalt Background. The cartouches are separated by highly molded Victorian Floral and Leaf Motif in the color of Cinnamon. There are no makers marks or stamps. Other than a handwritten number on the bottom: 975. By the form and feel and styling. I believe it dates to the early to mid 1800s. It could be French, but I believe it more likely to have been made by one of the number of British Potters from the Burslem ... moreor Staffordshire areas of England. It is in Remarkable Condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or hairlines or stains or damage. The colors are Vivid and really POP. There is age appropriate wear of the gold accent paint at the top edges and fine. Even crazing that can be seen only on the off-white inside and the bottom, not on the painted outside. It only adds to the character and authenticity of this Great Find. The Jardiniere measures about 9 1/4 inches tall and is about 8 1/2 inches wide at the mouth. Which is shaped in the form of flower petals. Please check my feedback and buy with confidence. Also check my other auctions. Beautiful Large 19th Century Antique Sevres Planter
On the front of the Sevres Planter there is a portrait of a young couple in love. On the opposite side is a beautiful landscape of a river with trees all around. The entire piece is hand painted and hand done. The age of the planter is late 19th Century. The exact measurments of the piece is 10 3/8 inches tall. The top circumference is about 12 inches and the bottom base circumference is a little bit bigger then 9 inches. The planter is in excellent condition. The painting depicts a pastoral scene. Sheep and cows are grazing in the fields with very steep mountains in the background. Most likely the Alps. A white farmhouse with a red roof is nestled into the trees. A small stream winds near the house and by a simple fence. The top and bottom of each urn is burgundy with fancy gold work, including detailed swags of flowers on the bottom. Gilded raised white and red beading border the center. The sturdy handles have a scroll design with tasteful gold work. These would make great planters or would be a lovely mantle decoration. The planters are marked ... morewith an S for Sevres. Rose coloured planters, finely decorated, dating between 1860- 1890, in very good, clean condition. Both are signed WP&G Phillips& also have a makers mark. There is small hairline cracks at the bottom of the planters. see photos) The signatures on one of the planters is smudged, most likely during fabrication. This planet. Is hand painted, and is beautifully detailed with trees flowers and leaves in a purple pink color. The piece is in great condition with the exception of one crack down the side which can only be seen from the inside of the planter. Both handles are also in excellent condition. The planter is signed but I cannot make out the details other then it was made in Holland. Up for auction is what I think is Majolica. If someone out there knows for sure and can please send some valid support of what it is I would be grateful. Otherwise. Here we go. The markings on the underside are the numbers 5115 and there is a handwritten designation of some kind and then there is what I believe to be a date; 11. 95. The piece stands approximately 8 1/2 inches tall. The diameter of the base is 8 1/4 inches. There is a small chip along the rim only visible from the underside(see photo) and there is some turtle repair on both their necks(see photo) If there are any other indiscretions with the piece it has missed my attention at this time. ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN FLOWER POT BOWL 19th CENTURY BIRD OF PARADISE
I found this at a thrift store. It is 5 1/2" tall and about 4" wide. It has a lavender main color and is very nicely hand painted with really nice detail. I think the bird is suppose to be a Bird of Paradise. From the way it was made I would guess this is from the 1800's but I am no expert. I see no marks or signature to help. The footed base has nice detail. The only thing I can find wrong with this is a small place on the interior that looks like a star ding. This is only on the inside. It is not evident on the outside. See last 2 photos.

This antique Paris porcelain planter was made in France in the latter half of the 19th century. The planter is green with gilts bands and outlines. The piece is decorated with two hand painted country scenes. The planter’s bottom separates from the pot to allow water to be drained. Fine 19th century wedgwood classical jasperware jardiniere marked wedgwood on the underside. The work measures 8 1/2"H x 9"Diameter aprox. It is in good condition with a chip to the underside and one of the horns and a small area where the top glaze as come slightly loss. Please see photos.
