Mainly known as a ceramic designer and as the artistic leader of the Gustavsberg porcelain factory. Kåge studied decorative painting at Tekniska skolan in Stockholm and later for the painter Carl W. Wilhelmson in Gothenburg. Johan Rodhe in Copenhagen and at Plakatschule in Munich, where he learnt graphic techniques. His early career was dedicated to advertising and the production of posters. This listing is for a ceramic Pipe Planter. It could also be used as an ash tray. Pen and pencil holder etc. or to add to ones pipe collectibles. This is a vintage pipe collectible. This particular one has been in same family for over 60 years. It is a medium brown color on the bottom and a pale yellow on the top. Has been used as a planter for a cactus. I removed the soil and lightly cleaned it so may need a little extra cleaning on the inside. approximate measurements are 6.25 inches tall and approximately 3 inches wide. There are no apparent chips or scratches. I actually think these Pipe Planters were hand made and each are probably unique in shape and coloration. There is a number 39 stamped on the bottom.
