I have up for sale a wonderful vintage Arts& Crafts style Zanesville Matte Green Art Pottery Umbrella stand. It has a very nice deep cucumber green glaze. Stands approx 22-1/2" and approx 10" diameter. It is unmarked but documented and authenticated as Zanesville Pottery. It would make for a perfect addition to any Mission or Arts& Crafts decor. It is in Very Good to Excellent Condition- I see no damages but there are a fair amount of glaze miss spots through out the piece. The past owner must have tried to cover a couple of these spots with some sort of dark green coloring- I cleaned most of the spots off as much as possible. This is fairly minor but noted. I see no actual damages- no cracks.Chips,etc. There is one spot that I am unsure if its damage or just another glaze miss spot,that was covered. It is shown in my last ... morepic. Antique Vtg Matte Green Ceramic Frog Frog Flower Holder ARTS & CRAFTS Misson Pot
I purchased"Sam" in the 60s at an ARTS& CRAFTS SHOW. Sam shows some wear. But, just looking at his face has given me years of delight. I wanted to start a collection of"frog frogs, but, actually, had a hard time finding any more. So Sam was my lone star of my Collection. I never thought that I could part with him, but the time has come to pass him on for someone else to cherish and enjoy. His green color is that very desirable old matte green. I used him as a paperweight on my desk, and could see him every day. He shows normal wear for how old he is ~ 1930s ~ so he is about 73 years old; otherwise, he is in quite good condition- no cracks or chips(just surface wear) Very substantial ~ weighs a tad under one pound. Measures 4-1/4" x 4" x 2-3/4" tall(highest part) Has 11 good-size holes for 11 posies or fernery. ... moreHe looks superb with flora and without flora. McCoy Floraline Matte Green Vase, #448
Item for sale is a McCoy Floraline matte green vase#448. The Floraline series was specifically produced by McCoy to market and sell to the retail floral market in the 1960's.70's, and 80's. and was hugely successful for the company. Now the pottery is highly collectible. This vase measures 8 1/2" x 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" and is in good used condition with no chips or crazing. It does have a hairline crack coming down from one top side which is very difficult to see. There is also a potters blemish on one corner of the base(see pictures#3 and#4) which was glazed over, and a few glaze bubbles. Price is commensurate with condition. On Dec-03-12 at 15:29:01 PST. All are unused and marked. The sets of 4 are all in very good condition. The set of 6 I put all the ones that have any issues, but if you are going to use(grout) them, I think a lot of the issues will all but disappear. You use your own judgment as to that. They are all in a great Arts and Crafts Matte Green. They all pretty much match. With any tile, there are variations so please don't expect them to be identical. I am happy to combine shipping. A wonderful Arts& Crafts pottery pitcher and 2 cups. Incredible blue/green matte glaze. MINT as far as damage; No chips. No hairline cracks, no repairs. I must point out there is some dirt/dust or grime in the bottom of the cups and pitcher and inside sides of pitcher. Some crazing in the glaze. Difficult to photograph the wonderful color of these. The white pottery underneath appears to be porcelain. These are thrown. No markings. The glaze is a mottled blue/green with some drips and one side of the pitcher has a feathered effect due to the glaze. These came out a fine portland. Oregon estate of Arts& Crafts pottery. I was assured they are C1910-1920 and were displayed by the great-grandfather of the person selling them, for years in his hutch and then handed them down in the family, we were told they were from England. I thought ... morethey were new when first seen because of bright colors and condition but upon further inspection of the build up of dirt/grime in the bottoms and inside side of pitcher I feel this these are old but in just wonderful/loved condition. I have not attempted to clean/wash these. I would be doubtful if ever used. They are just beautiful. Maker unknown. Please see all photos. You can see the color of the porcelean under the glaze in a few areas, including the bottoms. Total UNPACKED weight is just under 3 pounds. For Auction is a wonderful and early form made by The Hampshire Pottery of Keene. New Hampshire. The form is call an"Artichoke" Vase and it is in the very desirable Matte Cucumber Green Glaze. The Vase stands 2 3/4" tall and is 4 3/4" in diameter. The Embossed Exterior of Vase displays a very realistic appearance of an"Artichoke" It has an outstanding matte Cucumber Green Glaze that resembles real Cucumber skin. The Leaves look Hand Carved with wonderful Veining running throught this nice vase. The Form is crisp and very well detailed. Some refer to this as a Cabbage Shape but it is really an Artichoke. The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition free of nicks. Chips, dings and hairlines. When looking directly into the Vase it is not perfectly symetrically and really has that hand and mold made look. ... moreThe piece is signed with"Mount Vernon" written in block letters with the same green glaze as the vase. There is the Start of the letter"H" in Hampshire above this but the rest has been blocked out. The raised mold number 24 can clearly be seen and this is the shape number in the Hampshire Catalog pages. The Vase has that nicely ground bottom along with Hampshire Pottery's white clay bottom. You folks who collect and deal in Matte Green Art Pottery know exactly what you are looking at. It is my belief that Hampshire Pottery made this for"Mount Vernon" and I suspect it is the gift shop at George Washington. Our First President's estate. I would have to do further research to confirm this. I have owned at least 20 of these through the years and seen another 20-30 for sale. I have never had any of them signed in this manner and would consider this quite rare. I guess this would be considered an advertising piece as well. Hampshire Pottery started producing Matte Glazes in 1891. This was 7 years earlier than their main Competitor"Grueby Faience" of Boston. Mass. This vase is in Excellent Condition with no chips. Cracks, and or repairs. There is some crazing on the bottom(please see picture) The vase measures 5 3/4" tall x 7" wide x 4 1/4" at the mouth x 3 1/2" at the base and weighs 1239 grams. The base is marked with the script Hampshire Pottery, 129, and an M in a circle all impressed. This vase was designed by Cadmon Robertson and dates from 1904-1914. A great earthy matte cucumber green thick glaze on the outside and a glossy glaze on the inside of this vase. It has a lovely raised leaf design to it, an arts& crafts influence. For Auction I have a wonderful Arts and Crafts Shaped Vessel made by Hampshire Pottery of Keene. NH. The piece is known as a" Cylindrical" Vase. The Vase Stands 5 13/16" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter. The Vase displays a wonderful Matt Cucumber Green Glaze that is pretty uniform throughout. The top edges of the vessel shows some bleeding to a Olive Green. The inside shows where the Matte Green Glaze Dripped inside and you can see Hampshire's Water Proofing Glaze over that. The Bottom edge displays that beautiful ground down. Smooth round bottom edge. Hampshire Pottery made 4 versions of this very popular form. This form was the 2nd largest of those. The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks. Nicks, chips or dings. The Vessel is signed on the bottom with the incised"Hampshire Pottery" ... morein Script letters along with the letter"M" in a Circle to Honor his Wife"Emoretta" She was the daughter of the founder, James Scollay Taft. There is also the mold or pattern number"17/3" impressed as well. Hampshire Pottery started producing Matte Glazes in 1891. This was 7 years earlier than their main Competitor Grueby Faience of Boston. Mass. Hampshire Pottery resembles the style of Grueby but were much more affordable as they were mold made pieces as opposed to hand thrown. This will make a wonderful addition to any Matte Green Pottery collection of Art Pottery and would look great on that Stickley Mission Arts and Crafts Bookcase. Wonderful brown crinkled matte glaze exterior. Green interior. Marked under very thick rich brown glaze. Great arts& crafts shape. This appears to be a fine example of what Sharon Darling describes in her book“Landmark Teco Art Pottery of the Prairie School” on page 60 of an original Teco matte green re-glazed in brown. Described…in most instances new colors were applied to the most popular shapes…the new colored glazes were sprayed over the green glaze of unsold pieces which were re-fired to make them more attractive. Such pieces are easily recognizable by the green glaze visible on their inner surface or by the crinkled effect that sometimes developed during the second firing. Excellent condition. One small factory glaze pit mentioned for accuracy sake. Bottom double stamped Teco and 114. Vase is 5 1/4" tall and 3 1/2" wide. Teco is art pottery that was made in Terra Cotta(now Crystal Lake) Illinois, from the late 1800s to the early 1920s. The name comes from the first syllables of"terra" and"cotta. The company that produced Teco pottery, Gates Potteries, was an offshoot of the American Terra Cotta and Ceramic Company, owned by William Gates, which manufactured building materials such as bricks and drain tiles. Gates developed the ancient-looking, waxy green matte glaze that distinguishes most Teco pottery(other colors are brown, yellow, ... moreblue, pink, maroon, and buff) he and his design staff created most of the shapes. Fresh from an old estate. The glaze is smooth as silk. And the unusual organic form seems to change shape as lighting and shadows change. I showed this to my Art pottery expert friend. Please email me and I will add the information to the listing. ITEM MEASUREMENTS This item measures about 6 1/2" x 7 1/4" x 7 3/4" This sat on 3 cones. Which when removed, took off a bit of the clay body and glaze. The three arrows are supposed to show where this sat on 3 cones. But the red arrows are not exactly in the right positions. The arrow at About 4:00 O'clock. Should be pointing at about 5:00 O'clock forming a triangle. There are also some flat flakes around the foot which are not visible from the sides. Like where the arrow at 4:00 O'clock is pointing now. Above: hand incised shape number. THIS ITEMS CONDITION REPORT This is in good condition. But needs to be washed, as it was in an old estate for many decades. This sat on 3 cones in the kiln. And when the cones were removed, they took a bit of glaze and clay body with them. One of these shows from the side. And is considered a manufacturing flaw, and is not a chip. There are a few flat glaze flakes on the foot. Which are not visible from the sides. Vintage Teco Matte green bowl 7" in diameter and just over 2" high. As shown in photo there is a double Teco stamp. The bowl is in excellent condition with one small blemish on the bottom as shown in the picture. I purchased this bowl in 1998 at a pottery gallery in Chicago for my private collection. The blemish on the bottom of the dish was there at the time I purchased the dish. There are no marks or blemishes on any of the other surfaces. As I am in my senior years I am selling my collection.

Muncie Art Pottery Vase Made by Muncie Pottery Co. of Muncie Indiana. This small vase is unmarked. Unmarked Muncie pieces are earlier pieces, circa 1922-1925. Marking by employees became standard starting around 1925, as the molders and finishers were paid piece rate for the number of pieces they completed. This vase shape was known as#472. The 472 vase shape came in several sizes, this piece is the smaller 4” size. The glaze color was known as“Matte Green over Lilac” This vintage art pottery vase is in good condition. But does have a couple of minor flaws. There is a rust stain on the top rim on one side. This stain is located mostly on the very top and the inner wall, but a trace of it is visible on the outer side. The underside has rust colored staining as well, but this isn’t visible when the piece is displayed. There is a slight trace ... moreof mineral deposit around the inner top edge, most likely caused by keeping a potted plant in the piece at one time. There are a few minor scuffs here and there on the sides. The glaze has crazing in most areas. On the inner floor there are a few small glaze bubble bursts. Art Nouveau Candlestick Matte Green SCARABS Jugendstil Style~Teplitz~Austria
Fabulous Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style chamberstick or candlestick in a beautiful matte green glaze. Possibly from Austria or Turn-Teplitz. Czech Republic(formerly Bohemia) This beauty is decorated on two sides of the stick with 5 scarabs in relief heading up the sides. The outside of the candle cup has a very characteristic relief Art Nouveau design. The handle gracefully curves down to the bowl at the bottom. The bottom is incised in three different places; the glaze has obscured the clarity of all three. It looks like it's marked: AUSTRIA 4433& an undecipherable mark that may be a company logo. There are is a 1 mm ding and a 4 mm chip on the edge about 1 3/4" to the front of the point on the left edge of the bowl when the candlestick is held in the right hand. It looks as though this was a factory flaw since the color appears ... morethe same as the candlestick. There are some tiny chigger bites along the edge of the bowl that can be felt only the a fingernail. These factors do not detract from this magnificent piece of Art Nouveau pottery. Several years ago. We sent a photo of this candlestick to David Rago, the well-known pottery and decorative arts expert who owns Rago Arts and Auction Center in Lambertville, NJ. He has been seen many times on the Antique Roadshow appraising fine pottery. He stated"Your chamberstick appears to have been made in the town of Teplitz or Turn in Austria at the turn of the century(20th) and is decorated in the Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style" There is an interesting website that gives details of the pottery companies in business in the region from 1892 to the mid 1940s. http:www.collectics.com/education_amphora.html Unless indicated as new. Offered for Auction: Lovely Simple Arts& Crafts Style Pottery Flower Frog. A helpful member of the eBay community has identified this as Roseville Pottery. However it's unmarked. The flower frog is in a light matte green finish over a reddish brown glaze base coat yielding a verdigrised copper effect. There are 11 holes in a star pattern and there are 3 divots around the edge of the base for drainage. I do not have the corresponding shallow bowl. Condition: Good given its age with no cracks. Chips or repairs, however there is some crazing in the glaze and there is a very slight scratch which shows the white clay as shown in the last photo. As with any hand made item there are flaws and imperfections, the surface is irregular and uneven. There are varying shades of green and brown as shown. There are three small points of exposed un-glazed ... moreclay on the bottom from when it was produced. The frog is not perfectly round and the thickness varies. The frog measures approximately 3 1/2" in diameter and 1 1/2" H and it weighs 15 oz. Vintage Haeger 939 Green speckled black Matte dish bowl USA w/ label mid century
You are looking at a Haeger Dish. This Haeger Dish has no chips or cracks. It is green with speckles of black. It has a matte finish. And three mold mark wear show on the bottom. The dish still has a gold Haeger seal on the outside with a little wear on the seal itself. The fact that it has the seal at all shows the care that this item has had. The dish reads on the base. Haeger, USA and I believe it says 939, and a copyright"c" on it also. It measures a little over 2 1/2" high. It seems to be right at 2 9/16" The diameter of the dish is 4 3/8" across. The finish does have little imperfections in some areas of the finish like many Haeger items. The inside for instance looks like a run in the glaze and a little white speckle of the dish where the glaze didn't quite cover. Gentle wear marks. All in all this is a ... morevery nice example of the uniqueness and wide variety of Haeger items. I have never seen this shape of dish before. I do think it would be a nice addition to anyone's collection of Haeger items. Especially with the seal on the outside. This size dish would make a nice addition to decor. On interior are some rather unusually large"clay bumps" as shown in second picture. Still a great item to add to your collection. ROOKWOOD POTTERY Matte Dark Green Arts& Crafts Vase Mold- 2313 Date- 1917 7.5" Tall x 3.25" Wide. Circumference 10.5" Thickest spot This early piece of Rookwood Pottery has a unique color and glaze(Pic 7) Upper 1.5 inches at rim are decorated with leaf shapes or it could even be an abstract Rook. Glaze ran during firing and was ground smooth(Pic 5) There are no cracks. Chips or repairs on this vase. An old sticker remains adhered to the vase and a few specs of paint or something on surface(Pic 3) There are a few surface marks that can be seen in Pic 6. Not sure what left these but they did not wipe off with a damp soft rag. Interior is clean. Please ask any question you may have prior to buying.
