Unique Cowboys Statue Swirled Comanche Pottery,Texas (Not Native American)
I found this unique vintage Comanche Pottery.Texas, of a couple of old cowboys statue at an estate sale. This is a really heavy piece I weighed it before any packing and it is 19 3/4 pounds. It measures approximately 17 inches high and 10 inches across the base. I found no chips,cracks or damage.Thank you for looking,good luck.

The planter is in good condition.there are several small flea bites on the bottom of the feet.the planter may have had a sealer put on in that it is somewhat glossy.I just noticed a chip on the rim of the planter above the head.I have provided 11 photos for your viewing. Excellent condition. Big Clydesdale type feet. There are some flaws(bubbles. Rough edges, etc. but all flaws look original to the piece as opposed to damage) Marbled tan colors. Picture doesn't really do it justice. Very whimsical.

Rare Vintage Comanche Texas Pottery Human Skull form with hat in orange clay NR
up for bid is what I am certain is a RARE piece of vintage Comanche Pottery. This just came out of an attic yesterday where it has been for thirty something years, this piece of Comanche American Art Pottery is in the human skull form with a hat you can place on top, it is made from an unglazed natural orange terracotta clay, it features holes where the eyes and nose are, and it just now dawned on me is it for a candle? Day of The Dead? Some of the upper teeth are missing, the back of the skull shows cracks to the skull, great details to this piece, it is well marked Comanche Pottery, it measures 5 inches deep, 5 inches tall, the top opening is 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, the base is 3 x 6 inches, it weighs about 3 1/2 pounds without the hat, I do know the house this came from a kid went to Boy Scout Camps in the area where this was made, from ... moreother items acquired out of the attic) did he get it back then? It is signed on the bottom of the inside. I believe the first line reads designed by Ron Allen. And the second line definitely reads"Comanche Pottery" On the outside are imprinted flower/star marks. On the bottom of the vase are 3 small green felt pads. This piece has no damage, chips, cracks or repairs that I can find. The pottery is very heavy, weighing 2 pounds. You are looking at a vintage Comanche Texas swirled Pottery cowboy hat piece with a really old label(from the old label guns) inside the top of the hat which reads COMANCHE TEXAS. I think this is one of the older pieces.This hat measures about 6" long x 4" wide x 3.5" tall. Weighs over 1 1/2 lbs and features a buckle around the hat. It is in pretty good shape although it does have some small chips around the brim.

Indian Native American Life Size Bust Head-Comanche Pottery-16"-Marble-SW Colors
For Auction: This is an Indian/ Native American Life Size Bust/Head that I got from an estate. It is a beautiful detailed piece that my wife wants to keep- but may let go for the right price. It is solid and heavy- It weighs 39 pounds. It is 16" tall. 12" wide and 7" deep. It has a marbelized look to it and feels smooth. I do not believe it is marble as marble does not look quite like this. The temperature on it is cool. But not as cold as my granite countertop, so I do not believe it is any kind of stone. This may be Comanche Pottery. But I do not see any markings that indicate it is Comanche. It is unsigned. My guess is that a process was used to layer the material- possibly clay or other earthenware and then hand carved. Does not look like it came from a mold. There is a chip on the bottom and there are layers of color are ... moreunder the chip. So I believe the colors go all the ways through. There appears to be some musical notes on the bottom. His tribe roamed over the area where Pampa stands. He was never captured by the Army. But decided to surrender and lead his tribe into the white man's culture, only when he saw that there was no alternative. His was the last tribe in the Staked Plains to come into the reservation system. Quanah. Meaning"fragrant, was born about 1850, son of Comanche Chief Peta Nocona and Cynthia Ann Parker, a white girl taken captive during the 1836 raid on Parker's Fort, Texas. Cynthia ... moreAnn Parker was recaptured, along with her daughter, during an 1860 raid on the Pease River in northwest Texas. She had spent 24 years among the Comanche, however, and thus never readjusted to living with the whites again. She died in Anderson County. Texas, in 1864 shortly after the death of her daughter, Prairie Flower. Ironically, Cynthia Ann's son would adjust remarkably well to living among the white men. But first he would lead a bloody war against them. Quanah and the Quahada Comanche. Of whom his father, Peta Nocona had been chief, refused to accept the provisions of the 1867 Treaty of Medicine Lodge, which confined the southern Plains Indians to a reservation, promising to clothe the Indians and turn them into farmers in imitation of the white settlers. Knowing of past lies and deceptive treaties of the"White man" Quanah decided to remain on the warpath, raiding in Texas and Mexico and out maneuvering Army Colonel Ranald S. Mackenzie and others. Marked Comanche Pottery inside. Beautiful marbledized coloring. Measures 6 1/2 inches across the top. 8 1/2 across the center. The bottom is out of round so one way it measures 7 3/4 inches and the opposite side measures 8 inches across. Was acquired from a private collection at an estate auction in southern NH. I rely heavily on the photos provided to further describe the item as well as show condition. Please examine the closely. This auction is for a beautiful. Vintage, Comanche pottery bowl made in North Carolina with the artists signature. The delicately mixed colors of the glaze mimic the southwest and the colors found in petrified wood. The bowl is heavy and is 2.75" high and 5.5" across the rim. Can't tell you much about the history of this bowl. I bought it at an estate sale, Most of the tribes around our area are the Choctaw and Cherokee of which I share blood with. SO, what state it came from? your guess is as good as mine. The bowl is in it's imperfect, handmade original condition with no chips or cracks. Very unique.
