Antique Etruria Pottery art nouveau style jardinière centerpiece 19th
This is a large 19 th century jardinière that was made by Etruria Pottery. It has handles on each side and floral decoration on the front which gives it an art nouveau look. This has deep cobalt coloring on the handles. Center and around the foot. It would make a great centerpiece for a table. The piece is 11 inches tall and 15 inches wide at the handles. It has lots of gilding though some of it has worn off. It is quite heavy, weighing 13 pounds. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs. This will be double boxed for shipping. Antique Victorian Art Nouveau Majolica French Fives-Lille Cache Pot c.1864-1900
You are looking at and hopefully bidding on a most rare large piece of French 19thcentury(1860-1890) majolica-a cache pot/Jardinere and a large one.9" tall with an opening of 8 1/2-but the bulbous body actually goes out to about 11 inches. I've only seen one in mylifetime andit was consderablly smaller than this one. I believe there is one for sale ind the same rare pattern on Ebay at this very time.though smaller. 5-Lilles is an old French porcelain/majolica house-the bottomis marked with impressed with 1309/0 and above that is the well known fives-lilles mark-a great look and not a common one. The colors are phenomenal-the deep greens and varieted tourquoise leaves; browns/tans/Pinks/ all in relief with great care and quality. This is a very old figural piece with two ladies wearing scarves and a child dancing in the middle. The item measures 6-1/2 inches tall by 8 inches wide. The opening at the top is 6 inches. Their is some staining on the inside. The lady on the left has a poor repair to her right foot and right hand- please see pictures. The piece displays very well and I believe it was possibly a humidor. It is a quality European piece of porcelain. There is a residue of old felt glued to the bottom so I cannot see a makers mark. This auction is for an old ceramic green jasper ware cache pot or planter. There is a cherub blowing horns as a main decoration and the overall style is art nouveau. There are no maker's marks. But there is an impressed number on back. This is almost certainly an old German piece from the late 19th century. The pot has one small chip on the rim. Although this planter and our vase have different marks, they share the same exquisite design, with period elegance in its graceful design and the rich ... moretones of its enamels. This planter has the wolf mark, Keramis Made In Belgium, for Boch Freres. It was made in the early 20th century. The enamel design is textural ~ the turquoise dots can be felt as well as seen. The green is deep forest and its interplay with both the turquoise dots and the gilding is rich and striking. The detail on the applied handles is in a stylized acanthus leaf design, distinctive of the exceptional Boch attention to detail. The condition of this planter is very good. There is mild. Anticipated fading or wear to the gilding in some areas, and you can see this in our photos. Two of the turquoise dots have been flaked off, leaving the white case visible. Other than that, there are no imperfections ~ no hairlines, no cracks, no holes, no staining. A bit of attic dust in the very bottom interior, which can be cleaned. An outstanding piece in every way. Please be patient there are 18 more photos to be loaded in this auction. In ... morethis auction we have an original Julius Dressler Majolica Jardiniere& Pedestal. Circa 1899. Made of gorgeous swirls of color with floral like decor, this is sure to brighten any space you chose to place it! The jardiniere bears the Julius Dressler mark, along with"Austria/ 4007" on the inside(please see photos) It measures approx 42" tall as a whole, the planter measures approx. 15 1/4" tall by itself, 14" in diameter. The pedestal measures approx. 27" tall by 16" at it's widest and 15 1/2" deep. We are calling it shabby chic due to multiple restorations that have occurred over the years. The planter has a few small chips to the rim and uniform crazing in the glaze. The pedestal has restoration to a crack along the top and to one leg that has been broken. There is also another crack along the base. Be sure to see all our photos for specifics. Even with it's age wear and imperfections, this is still a gorgeous and highly desirable piece! GOOD LUCK!
