Albion Antiek Antique Creamware Pottery English Georgian 1820-30 Clews Baskets& Liners This listing is for a beautiful pair of antique Staffordshire creamware pottery baskets with their under plates. These were made in Staffordshire(England) by Ralph& James Clews between 1820-30. The shape of these is rather striking and very unusual with their angular appearance and I love the floral relief decoration on these! The under trays measure approx. 9-1/2" long(24.3 cm) and 7-1/2" wide(19.2 cm) The baskets measure approx. 10-1/4" long(26 cm. Handle to handle) 6-3/8" wide(16.2 cm) and 3-7/8" high(9.7 cm) There is some wear from age and use. Also a few small chips(most noticeably on one corner of a basket) and a bit of dust in the glaze and one of the trays is a bit warped(see close-up pictures for all the flaws and ... moreirregularites) The good news is that there are no cracks or hairlines and there have been no repairs or restoration. They are slightly different in size. One Jardiniere is 7" high with a 7" diameter. The other one is 7 1/4" high and 7 1/2" in diameter. These were hand made in the mid-19th century. Setting on a mantel or shelf. I do not believe the tiny difference in size would be noticed. There are no markings on the pieces as is expected with Old Paris. These big planters with an African crowned crane. A stork and plants in relief bisque on the front are Henri Ardant for Limoges between 1873 and 1883. Glazed porcelain in apple green contrast with the moss green scene in bisque. On the sides, handles are dog heads in light yellow. In very good condition, save some loss of gilt and one feet-in one of the planters- that has been restored(see photo) But neither diminish the beauty of the planters, which are perfectly usable. Here is a hard to find pair of cache pots on stands from around 1860-1880. The wood stands have metal ornamentation. Not standing straight. They are not very sturdy. A bit wobbly. To the top of the stands they are about 32" tall. The pots are 6 1/2" high and 7" across the opening. They have damage, hairlines, crazing, staining, one looks to have a firing crack on the base edge. Shipping will hard to estimate. Probably two boxes, one for the pots and one for the stands. I think these are early 20th C. copies. I do not believe a real Sevres piece from this period would have the handwritten gold"France" that is on both of them. That being said they are very decorative. Both have hand painted matching landscapes front and back. A beautiful black,gold and white border near the upper rim. I'm not sure what to call the main color.deep pink or light purple. There is no sign that these two have ever been used for their intended purpose as planters. Put together each measures 6&1/2" or 16 cm high and 6" or 15 cm across the top. A lovely pair for your home. Please e-mail with any questions. pair of antique early 1900's thick handmade stoneware salt glazed crock planter
This is a stunning pair of early 20th century salt glazed stoneware crock planters. they are made from very thick stoneware and have a lovely tan salt glaze finish. the are a cylindrical shape with a thicker edge. both in nice condition. One has residue inside that can most likely be removed. the larger measures 8 inches wide by 7 3/4 inches tall. the smaller measures 6 by 6 inches.
