I have seen somewhat similar plant stands described as being Neoclassical. Edwardian, Louis XIV, Louis XVI, Empire or Louis Philippe. I am truly out of my element here! English? French? I simply do not know. I do not find any makers marks on it and I don't know when or where it was made. Based on some of its construction details thou gh, I think it likely it dat es from the early part of the 20th c entury. The stand is tight and sturdy an d t here are no repairs on it. I can find only one s pot on the corner edge of a leg where there is a small area w here the wood is chippe d. Personally I wouldn't touch it- I' d just turn the stand so it was on the least visible side. The big gest condition issue I see is that the original finish has some whit ish areas from age deterio rat ion. I believe that the finish is lacqu er. And simply respraying it with a fresh coat of lacquer would soft en and meld into t he original finish to restore it. As such, I have avoided putting any thing on it that would reduce the effectiveness of a simple lacquer recoat. I am willin g to pack and ship this plant stand and ship it as is stated in my shipping terms. I am a very careful packer and have packed and shipped a great many fragile items. However Decor Main(meaning hand painted) leads me to think that it is probably from France. Overall condition is great with no chips or cracks to make note of. There is very little if any wear to the decoration. Measures about 4 3/4" from the top edge to the base rim and 4 3/4" across the top. You are looking at and hopefully bidding on a most rare large piece of French 19thcentury(1860-1890) majolica-a cache pot/Jardinere and a large one.9" tall with an opening of 8 1/2-but the bulbous body actually goes out to about 11 inches. I've only seen one in mylifetime andit was consderablly smaller than this one. I believe there is one for sale ind the same rare pattern on Ebay at this very time.though smaller. 5-Lilles is an old French porcelain/majolica house-the bottomis marked with impressed with 1309/0 and above that is the well known fives-lilles mark-a great look and not a common one. The colors are phenomenal-the deep greens and varieted tourquoise leaves; browns/tans/Pinks/ all in relief with great care and quality. This Limoges Cache Pot was given to me about 25 years ago by a 98 year old lady. I do not know any more about it's age. There are no cracks nor chips. Ther is an underglaze factory mark in green with"W.G. Co" within it. Also under glaze is a signature"S.G. Holmes" Whom I would assume to be the artist. Antique 1890 Earthenware Ohio Pottery Purple Lg Cache Planter Pot Victorian Era
Here we have a Vintage 1890's- 1910's Earthenware Factories& Potteries Ohio Pottery Cache Pot. Purchased last year from an elderly couple's estate where there were many antiques and collectibles. This large and Very Unusual Victorian era colored pot measures 8.5" tall x 9.5" in diameter. There aren't any cracks but there are two insignificant chips on the bottom ridge of the pot, as shown in photo. THERE ARE MANY GLARES IN THE PHOTOS Therefore difficult to get any photos without glares. So. For this reason I took many photos. There is gold along the top ridge with some of it being somewhat worn off. There are variations of purples(which are true to color in the photos) and it gradually changes to lighter colors as you move down towards the bottom area of the pot. The darker decorations are sort of a very dark ... morepurple/black with the outer edge of them showing more of a purplish tone and being partially and sporadically outlined in gold. The gold has faded to a light purple in areas. The leaf decorations are just what you see in a pink/purple color matching the lower color tones towards the bottom area of the pot. These too are very faintly lined in possibly a gold or faded gold into a light purple. The handles also have worn off gold on the sides and it looks like the gold areas have turned sort of a purple in color as it has done in other areas. The inside isn't bad for as old as it is. Some stains on the inside bottom that I have not tried to scrub off. With all the intertwined letters on the underside hallmark it was hard to tell one from another. Co. is the only thing that I did know. There is also a stamped and incised"446" I was told by marks4ceramics.com that this is definitely an American pot from the 1890's- 1910 era. I was told that it is either Ohio Pottery or Pioneer Pottery as both worked in the same area using the same raw materials and skilled artisans from the same communities. LARGE Antique ROSE Decorated Cache Pot Shabby Glazed Earthenware Flower/Planter
Here we have a LARGE Antique Rose Decorated Cache Pot. Looks sort of like a french Limoges decorative styling. S ort of shabby looking too. It's a Heavy and quite Sturdy pot. I was told by professionals that it was made around 1900. Which is an estimate. But. From the wear, definitely an older piece. Probably made in the Ohio Valley area, possibly from one of the several Bennett Potteries. But don't know for sure. Either way. It's definitely an older glazed earthen ware piece. It is large measuring 9-1/2" tall with a 11-1/2" diameter and measuring 14" from handle to handle. It has an old style to it with a raised decorative design and having slightly worn gold splatters/highlighting along edges and in certain areas on outside of pot. The rose looks to be a transfer and is in good condition. Pot looks older because ... moreof the wear. Crazing and a couple of minor 2" hairline cracks on the inside near the top, w hic h can be seen in photos. The H20 on the bottom is in a shiny gold matching the gold highlighting on the edges. Exterior is painted a very unusual peach color. The best I can tell, the design outline was done by transfer and then hand colored. The small hole in the base is as made by design. The image is lovely- one side has a bird on branch with flower, nest and a bee. The other side is a nest and flowers.The peach color is a bit brighter and richer looking in real life than in the photos. CONDITION: No cracks or chips. From a distance it looks fine. Close up. C. 1955-65 This pretty cache-pot has a large floral plaque on the front of a turquoise body decorated with gilt transfer sprays of leaves and flowers. The plaque is white. Shield-shaped and banded with a gilt-ormolu style transfer frame. The centre is decorated with a large, hand-painted floral spray of roses, daisies and other garden flowers in vivid shades of pink, blue, yellow, burnt orange and green in the foreground with a subtle gray leaf spray in the background. The round pot rim is white and decorated with three ... moregraduated gold stripes: a wide one around the rim. A thinner one in the centre of the white rim and the narrowest one on the extruded band at the base of the rim. The round foot of the pot is also white with an indent at the top and a gold band finishing the bottom. The pot has two gilded cupped ceramic handles on either side beneath the banded rim. The handles are both decorative and useful for moving the pot around. Pullivuyt is a well regarded French ceramic manufacturer and decorator that began production in 1818. Their Paris shop opened in 1847. Their factory was near Limoges and they employed Limoges blanks in some instances including this one. The company continues in operation to the present day and is particularly famous for fine-quality housewares. The his lovely cache-pot would give a large plant a great home in a formal living or dining room with French touches. Filled with ice it would make a pretty wine cooler. Antique Vintage Hand Painted French Porcelain Cache Pot Planter, p215
Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this lovley vintage hand painted French porcelain planter. Made by Robert Bloch between 1918-1939 when they hand painted their pieces. World War II came and the company closed. In 1945 Robert took a partner and rebuilt the company but made less expensive pieces using transferware instead of hand painting them. This beautiful planter features porcelain BOW handles and sits on 4 feet. It is beautifully decorated with flower bouquets and the attention to detail all around. This is a wonderful rare extra large cach pot.It makes a fabulous centerpiece for a table or works wonderfully for plants as well.it has beautiful cut outs in the porcelain.it is in wonderful condition no chips cracks crazing. The paint details is just beautiful. I've never seen one like this before. Large cache pot jardinere majolica cracked chipped victorian flower pot
Wrapping a tape measure around the middle measures approx 30" diam across top approx 8 1/2 approx 7 1/2 high. Lots of cracks. Crazing, chips marks. Inside most of green paint gone some stains and dirt was used to house a plant as intended. We put stick on felt to the bottom so won't scratch our table. They peel off easily if u do not want them. On bottom something written i cant make it out not sure if original makers mark or later added, tried to take a pic of it can see in one of the photos. Not sure of age. Posted with Check out my!

This auction is for an old ceramic green jasper ware cache pot or planter. There is a cherub blowing horns as a main decoration and the overall style is art nouveau. There are no maker's marks. But there is an impressed number on back. This is almost certainly an old German piece from the late 19th century. The pot has one small chip on the rim. It also has some staining around the rim from use. Otherwise, it is in good shape. It stands just over 3 inches high and is 4 1/4 inches from handle to handle. Payment accepted with Paypal. Antique Old Paris French Porcelain Cache Pot Vase Jardiniere with what appears to be a pair of tipsy cherubs- one looks to be sleeping it off and the other can't get enough. Clutching a bottle or a cup in each hand! Just lovely against the pink background with that very bright gold typically seen in Old Paris porcelain. The auctioneer listed this piece as vintage old Paris porcelain when I bought it but I can't attest to its veracity. There is no mark. The cachepot is 7.75 inches high. The diameter at the top is 6.75 inches and at the bottom(the short pedestal foot) 5.5 inches. A small amount of the black paint off the rim has thinned, probably where the pot has been handled over the years- see photo#5. There is also some slight rubbing on the gold circle on the top part surrounding the cherubs. Still, a very lovely piece that will ... morebrighten up any mantel or corner where displayed.

Marked on the bottom with impressed numbers 342. we believe this to have been made from the Onnaing factory in the north of France before 1890 since the country name is not indicated. This planter was found in the east of France. It features two flamingos. One eating while the other keeps watch near the blue water with trees and flowering reeds on both sides in a brown cartouche. Antique Porcelain Cache Pot, Hand Painted Bohemian Jardiniere Fischer & Mieg
An exquisite. Museum worthy piece, this porcelain cache pot is rare and stunning. The maker's mark on the bottom of the pot is of Fischer& Mieg, circa 1857-1875. Fischer& Mieg was located in Bohemia during this period and this piece is hand painted in the popular Persian style of that time. Featuring beautifully detailed cameo portraits of what look like historical figures. Royalty or dignitaries, each one is framed with beautiful borders of black, gilding and celeste, Sevres, turquoise blue. The colors on this piece are brilliant and gorgeous! The blue pops against the gold, black and white. The center is hand painted in a geometrical pattern that looks very Art Deco(although this dates much earlier) continuing around the entire piece. The outer edges of this central pattern are fantastic- a solid gold stripe with a pattern inside ... morethe gold, flawless and brilliant. There are five portraits on this cache pot- two women and two men, one of the portraits of the men is repeated(the one with the red hat) Three figures face to the right, two face to the left. Very fine attention was paid to these portraits as their clothing and accessories are very detailed and realistic. These details are quite capturing- there is an arrow atop one of the men's hats, golden stars on one of the women's dresses, jewels, pearls, feathers, and even a head dress that seems Egyptian on one of the women. The backgrounds behind the portraits are also a beautiful pattern and add such dimension, being very light and metallic. The top lip has an embellished, hand painted gilt over black border, very regal. The very top of the pot is rimmed in gold, as is the bottom. All of the gilding on this piece is in remarkable, almost perfect condition. There is very minimal wear to the piece, commensurate and expected with age, not affecting its integrity. This auction is for an old porcelain planter or cache pot that I believe is German in origin. It is defintely old. There are incised numbers on the bottom as well as an incised H or I. There is a stamped D as well. The pot is a pale purple with a transfer decoration of flowers. There are no chips or cracks. But a few minor wear marks. It measures 7 inches from handle end to end. Rubbing of color and stilt marks on the bottom from the kiln firing. It also appears that through use the planter is showing signs of staining, inside and out-Please see photos.
