This is a large 19 th century jardinière that was made by Etruria Pottery. It has handles on each side and floral decoration on the front which gives it an art nouveau look. This has deep cobalt coloring on the handles. Center and around the foot. It would make a great centerpiece for a table. The piece is 11 inches tall and 15 inches wide at the handles. It has lots of gilding though some of it has worn off. It is quite heavy, weighing 13 pounds. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs. This will be double boxed for shipping. You are looking at and hopefully bidding on a most rare large piece of French 19thcentury(1860-1890) majolica-a cache pot/Jardinere and a large one.9" tall with an opening of 8 1/2-but the bulbous body actually goes out to about 11 inches. I've only seen one in mylifetime andit was consderablly smaller than this one. I believe there is one for sale ind the same rare pattern on Ebay at this very time.though smaller. 5-Lilles is an old French porcelain/majolica house-the bottomis marked with impressed with 1309/0 and above that is the well known fives-lilles mark-a great look and not a common one. The colors are phenomenal-the deep greens and varieted tourquoise leaves; browns/tans/Pinks/ all in relief with great care and quality. It is marked on the underside of the base with an impressed mark which you can see illustrated in the 2nd image. It measures roughly 9" tall x 11" in diameter at its widest and weigh close to seven pounds. The diameter across the top opening is just under 9 1/2" The decoration features gold gilt over swirled bands of cobalt blue and maroon. The condition is very good. It has a great flow blue coloring and on the panels it has images of a cherub and then a woman who looks to be from the 1900-1910s range. Markings: R R P CO ROSEVILLE OHIO NO 153 Features: 7 1/2 inch tall by 9 1/2 inch diameter planter weighing 9 pounds 9 ounces. With 6 pound 15 ounce 14 1/4 inch tall pedestal. Overall height measures 21 1/2 inches. Each is decorated with embossed Art Deco style leaves and flowers with a high gloss green and brown glaze. Both pieces carry the RPP mark. This pre-owned floral vase/pot belonged to my late grandmother and was displayed in my grandmother’s parent’s home during the very early 1900’s. There is a painted‘02’ in the bottom of the vase that may indicate that it was painted in 1902. This item does show some crazing which is not unusual. I do not see any chips. Cracks or repairs. The only minor chip that I can see is on the base and can be viewed in the picture of the vase showing the measurement of the base.
