antique lion griffin head bussle roman chair 6 heads
up for auction is a nice antique roman type bussle chair. it has 6 heads that are lion or griffin and claw feet in the front. i am not sure of what type wood it is made of. it almost looks like mahogany. But i think it is birch or fruitwood. i paid about 500 for this chair quite some time ago and i just had it recently recovered. so the starting price reflects pretty much what i have in it. it is a neat chair with three large heads on the top, the middle one recessed with the curvature of the chair. the top is carved scalloped above the heads, the arm tops are scalloped above the heads at the front of the arm rests. it also has a head in the bottom brace of the seat. nice claw feet with casters. the chair is in near mint condition, a few little bumps here and there, but nothing noteworthy. it is 38 inches tall, 27 wide, the seat is 18 deep, ... moreand it is about 18 inches from floor to the top of the seat. quite a large chair. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyers expense. i can help arrange for shipment if that would be helpful to anyone. good luck.

Milk Glass 7 inch fitter Embossed Dome Shade for Oil or Student lamp Wonderful Embossed shade with Lion Heads and Transfer print and Hand-painted flowers. Paint retains strong colors with minimal loss and lite surface scratches from age. Shade is original circa 1870-1900 Shade has a standard 7 inch fitter Glass is in excellent condition with No Cracks. Chips or major damages. There are the expected factory rough spots and very tiny nicks and flea bites to the properly ground top and fitter edges. Most have blue paint in them so they where there when it was made. No harm and is only noted for shear accuracy. Both fitter and top edges are properly ground smooth finished. Chinese Rosewood Rose Marble Top Table Carved Lion Heads & Fruit Qing Dynasty
Up for your consideration is a nicely carved Chinese table from the 19th Century. Qing Dynasty period. Per the writing on the bottom of this table, this was purchased as a gift in 1896. There are 4 lions heads carved above each leg of the table. There is four carved"panels" between each of the legs which have a leaves and fruit carved design. One of these panels is broken and you can shift the two halves apart slightly. One of the panels is missing a small carved piece of the wood near the bottom edge. One of the round beads along the top edge has also been damaged and has been partially broken off. There is writing on the bottom of the table in red which states: A present to my mother 1896 from her brother from Hong Kong" The name Barbara Parson(or Parsons) is also written in red on the bottom of this table. The piece stands ... moreapprox. 18" tall and is approx. 14" diameter across the top and weighs just under 17 pounds. I believe the wood to be rosewood(I cannot guarantee that it is. However) and the insert is rose marble. The rose marble is dull and scratched. I believe that it can be polished back to life, but I will leave that up to the buyer's discretion. If you are looking for a table that is in great condition. Then this is not the table for you. Considering the age of this table, I would say that it is in acceptable condition with damage, and wear from age and use. It stands firm and is a sturdy table. Even with it's flaws, it is still a very nice, antique, historical piece and very nice to display. As seen in the photos. It appears to be put together with wooden pegs. Victorian Eastlake Walnut & Burl Brown Marble Top Sideboard Buffet w Lion Heads
Being presented for sale is this Superb Victorian Walnut& Burl walnut Brown Marble Top Mirrored back Sideboard/ Buffet with carved Lion heads circa 1880. This 19th century piece is just gorgeous and would surely be a beautiful focal point in your home. This is a impressive sideboard with gorgeous spoon carvings. Finials, carved Lion heads,burl walnut panel accents and a fancy carved scroll and shell gallery as well as the original beautiful brown marble top and the original brass hardware and early dove-tailed ends on the drawers. This sideboard/ buffet measures a total height of 82 1/2 inches( 6 ft 10 1/2 in) to the top of the carvings on the very top center. Height from the floor to the top of the brown marble measures 36 1/2 inches,with a total width of 48 1/4 inches and a depth at the base of 21 1/2 inches and this pieces weighs approximately ... more250 lbs. This sideboard does dis-assemble into 4 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The fine display shelf above the marble measures 26 inches in height above the marble top and the shelf measures 43 inches wide by 11 inches deep.The larger mirror measures 19 inches high by 33 inches wide, and the three mirrors at the top each measure 10 inches wide by 6 inches high. This is a fabulous piece in wonderful antique condition and the original brown marble top is also just beautiful with no apologies we can find. All the locks are intact but the key provided just aids in opening the cabinet doors and does not work the locks. There is a small piece of carving missing on the left side of the pediment inside of one of the scrolls. I have shown a close-up of in the pictures and appears to have been missing for a long time.nothing major in my opinion and definitely doesn't distract from the beauty of this gorgeous 19th century piece. Well preserved, working American mantle clock that was produced in"Winsted Connecticut USA" about 105 years ago and signed on the dial, movement, and on a mostly intact label underneath by the"Gilbert Clock Company, one of the best clock makers ever. According to the same label, this is the"Blackbird" model of chiming mantle clocks produced by Gilbert. It has a nice satin black finish and accented with Roman pillars on each side of the dial, fancy claw cast metal ... morefeet in front, cast metal feet in back, a cast metal lion head on each side of the case with a metal ring in his mouth, and fancy, faint etched designs on the lower front and sides of the dial. The dial has a very fancy brass bezel surrounding it and a brass hinged outer bezel as well with a glass crystal inset into it; no cracks or chips that I can see. The dial backdrop is white and features fancy black arabic numeral to mark the hours and fancy metal hands to point out the time. The hands are the old style that are pinned to the escapement, not secured with a nut like the newer models. There is a slow/fast adjustment on the dial in case the clock timing ever needs to be sped up or slowed down. The back of the clock is wood as well and there is a black metal cover that is secured with a metal latch. Antique gold bangle bracelet. Made entirely of very high carat gold(at least 22k) Butan State in India. 19th century. Will fit most wrists as it can be pulled open/closed to according to the wearer's size. Total length as measured on the outside is approx 8 1/4 inches(21cm) long. Approx 9mm wide. Weighs 66.8 grams. The inside of the bangle shows clear signs of hand beating. The rounded outside is chased repousse gold in a rich pattern of flowers within scrolling borders. REDUCED PRICE Large French Rosewood and Ormolu desk, with bronze lion heads
This striking 19th Century French rosewood and ormolu desk exudes a strong and regal presence. The large six drawer desk is heavily embellished with decorative bronze lion heads. Floral and scroll flourishes all around, and even each foot is accented in bronze on all four sides. Custom gold embossed leather top. Bound by rosewood and bronze. I've been told is made at the end of 19th, or very early 20th century. Please look carefully at all the pictures to see the beautiful workmanship. Dove tail drawers, etc. The desk is very well preserved. Has no scratches(maybe only a small one, on the leather top, but almost invisible-more a mark than a scratch) Very good for it's age.
