Antique Oak Spool/Thread Cabinet Goff's Best Braid 3 Drawer Case/Chest
Size is 17" wide by 18" deep at the base. 17 5/8" wide by 18 1/8" deep at the top. 11" tall. It is missing 1 small decorative block on the front left side top and a narrow 3/16" wide strip at the right rear edge. That strip would be an easy to find replacement as they used the same strips to hold in backs of mirrors and glass in doors of cabinets. I don't know if the dropped drawer pulls are original or not but were on it when I bought the cabinet out of an estate 20 years ago. Drawers are sound and solid and finger jointed all around. The lettering on the front drawers is on tin. Finish,lettering and advertising on the rear look all original to me. It is solid oak-not veneer. Not perfect but a nice chest. Some minor wood chipping, and paint discoloration on the inside of the drawers. On the third drawer down you will see chips in the outer lower corners. This is a thick piece of glass that can be removed easily and replaced if desired. I believe this is a 1880's to 1900's oak Coats or J&P Coats spool cotton or thread cabinet. Also written as J. P. Coats and J P Coats. Overall it is in great condition for its age. It seems complete. Measures 20 x 30 x 15 inches tall. If you want more pictures please let me know. There are a few nicks on the top's edges. As well as a few dings on the top. Please remember it is over 120 years old, so it isn't perfect. The drawers are a bit loose in terms of the dove joints, but it is pretty solid for it's age. I would say for its age. With a solid front lower drawer and 2 glass front upper drawers. The front section of each row in the upper 2 drawers would have displayed a different color thread. Up for consideration today is an antique 2 drawer spool cabinet. For Clark's ONT thread. It has the original hanging brass ONT drawer pulls. There is a little bit of loss to the black lettering on the lower drawer(see picture) There are a few scratches on top of the unit and one small bump in the wood that is smooth and finished over(see pictures) Overall pretty nice condition for its age. The drawers are lined with black felt but its not glued down so its easily removed if you so desired. Nice well built solid piece of antique furniture. This is a lovely 3 drawer metal spool thread cabinet with advertising on the top. Both sides, and back of the cabinet(J P Coats Boilfast Mercerized Sewing for Hand and Machine) It is tan/light brown metal. The top two drawers have glass fronts and the bottom drawer has a metal front. All drawers have what appear to be original handles. Each drawer holds 12 spools across and 15 rows(180 spools of thread per drawer) This is great for storing all of your thread in one place while having a conversation piece as well. All drawer brackets are in place and drawers slide in and out smoothly to add or remove thread. The cabinet is 18 3/4" wide, 17 1/4" deep, and 6 1/2" tall and weighs 18 pounds. The drawers are 15.5" long, 14 1/4" wide and 1" deep. The front of each drawer is glass with a metal pull. It is a 7 drawer cabinet but the bottom one is missing. The cabinet is in good condition. All of the glass fronts to the drawers are intact with no damage. The cabinet has a crack running across the top and a stain ring from what looks to be a cup. This is a two piece spool cabinet. One consisting on the lower wider section with three drawers and the other piece consisting of the piece with six drawers sitting on it. it has beautiful carvings on the corners. The drawer pulls are made of porcelain. The cabinet is very heavy and solid. It is about 30 inches tall by 38 inches wide. And 19 inches deep. The piece that sits on top with the six drawers is 24 inches wide, by 2o inches tall by 18 inches deep. Lower piece is 38 by 19 by 10 inches and it has wheels. I have indicated in the listings that shipping costs are $125, but this is only an estimate. It might be more or it might be less depending on where you live. I will charge you for the exact shipping costs and not a cent less. Bear in mind that I will have to ship this piece in two different packages and that both packages will be in the 55 range. Antique Vintage Richardson Silk Cotton Thread Store Display Case Spool Cabinet
Antique spool display case from Richardson Silk. Appears to be oak with glass inserts on two of the three drawer fronts(the bottom panel is the company name in gold lettering) Very sturdy and square, glass is in great shape and secured by decorative metal brackets. The middle drawer ledge is a little chewed up, and the handle is missing; this could be repaired, although extra drawers for these cabinets do periodically show up on eBay, so you may wish to replace it with another antique drawer. Wear to the exterior of the cabinet(most likely from decades of use in a small retail setting: corner drugstore, mercantile, etc) but still in nice condition considering its age. All the various antique threads and sewing accessories shown in the drawers are included in this sale. Overall dimensions are 14-5/8" wide. 15-1/4" deep(not including ... morehandles) and 8-1/8" high. Will be carefully packaged in new materials for shipment. Oak Belding's counter top spool cabinet. unusual model. I've never seen this one before. Measures at base 20 3/4" wide x 15 1/4" deep and about 8 1/2" high at the back. front is about 4" high. A good one to add to your collection. Very good condition, original finish and I believe glass. Front lettering appears close to perfect(see pics) Loads from the back with a drawer. also has a drawer for extra spools down below. The bottom drawer has a knot hole in it, doesn't keep it from working smoothly.see Pic) It's just how I found it with 96 spools of thread. lots of pictures, so check them out and ask questions if need be. Brainerd& Armstrong Spool Cabinet This is a very old spool cabinet that held Brainerd& Armstrong spool silk thread. The name appears to be hand stenciled. I think this would be an early example. It has two drawers. The top drawer has all the original dividers, the bottom drawer is missing over half of them. Size is 14-3/4" x 9-1/2" x 3-15/16" Inside are a variety of old sewing items including a few sewing kits. Tatting shuttles, buttonhole scissors, tracing wheel, clasps, buckles, buttons.
