Antique Art Deco Barber / Beauty Shop / Dental Sterilizer Cabinet Display Case
This very unique Art Deco Style Barber/ Beauty Shop or Dental Office Sterilizer or Display Cabinet came out of an old barber shop in down town Hinton. WV. It was a one man country barber shop that you see in rural areas. You can still smell the hair products that were kept in it. It sat on the counter and is footed. It could possibly be hung if you wish. It has a nice Art Deco Design around the top and sides. The door has glass and each side has glass. There are slots in three areas for glass. There is one glass shelve present which can be moved around. It looks like this one was the only one used and it was positioned in the lower area. Most of these has two. This can be easily replaced. The finish is worn in most areas. I had planned to refinish or paint it but decided to sell it. The inside is an old country blue paint. This chest would have sat on the counter of an early 1900's barber shop/ general store to entice customers into purchasing a fine Ace Comb. It is a display case for Ace Combs however it is much more than that. This display is constructed with glass and old antique wood with primitive hardware. It features a glass panel in the front where there are preformed areas for specific combs. The backside features wooden drawers that pull out to expose areas where the specific combs would have been stored. This neat old chest is a heavy duty piece constructed of the finest craftsmanship.
