28 door post office PO box unit with brass doors.the doors still have original applied patina.46 inches tall x 24 3/4 inches wide x 13 inches deep.the locks are combination.you can open the doors from the back and easily change the combintaion as there are many tutorials on the net.It is easy and quick.a few of the small pieces of glass and a few of the interior lock parts are missing I think there were 3 of them.the locks and lock parts are really commonI have seen the doors with complete locks on here for as low as $9 I cant guarantee that all the little pieces of glass will make it in shipping but thats all they are is just a little piece of glass easily replaceable.I can ship via fedex ground for $150 please check my other auctions Powered by The free listing tool. HISTORIC TENNESSEE ANTIQUE GENERAL STORE/POST OFFICE COUNTER & LEDGER
The counter was purchased 9 years ago at the original old store at Fancher’s Mill. White County, Tennessee. Fancher's Mill Store was established in 1865 by T.H. Fancher b.1799 and is located in White County, Tennessee above Fancher’s Falls on Center Hill Lake. The country store also doubled as a U.S. Post Office from 1876-1909. Photos of the counter show it is still in“as found” condition along with images of the General Store/Post Office as it appeared 9 years ago& an image in the state of Tennessee archive file as a historic Tennessee site. Here are the details… ~ 10’ 1 1/2" long x 35 3/4" high x 25 1/4" deep ~ One Board Top with Hand Forged Nails; made of Poplar ~ Original Paint on Inset Panels ~ Antique Farm Implement Blade wedged in End Supports; Original as found This store counter has a great history& provenance ... moreas well as being“one-of-a-kind” The partial store ledger that was found with it is included with the store counter; as they should stay together. The ledger is not in the best condition but was lucky to survive in the old store. Local pick-up in Davenport. FL or can be shipped via Freight Carrier arranged by Buyer. Antique 1880's Store/Post Office Counter Display Cabinets (2)
This is a PAIR(2) antique. Late 1800's Post Office or Store Counter Display Cabinets. They are made to go as a set, because each individual cabinet has a set of TWO slots on one side, that correspond to TWO slots on the opposite side of the other cabinet. At one time, there were a set of either metal or wooden slats that connected these two cabinets. The cabinets are made of solid. Heavy wood- probably cherry or oak. Each cabinet has a swinging door on metal hinges, and inside are multiple compartments. Each cabinet has a different configuration of the compartments. On the bottom of each cabinet is a single pull-out drawer. The bottom side of one of the drawers is lined with advertising for WILSON FLAWLESS BISCUITS. Each cabinet has THREE wooden pulls. And one primitive key-lock. There is a key that fits into the lock on one of the cabinets ... moreand works the lock. The key fits into the lock of the other cabinet, but the lock does not work. I don't know if the lock itself is jammed, or if there was another key at one time. Each cabinet has the following dimensions: 10" deep 16" wide 24-1/4" high aprox. 28 lbs. each I will have these cabinets packaged and shipped via UPS Ground. Vintage Post Office Postal Box Unit (24 Count)
This antique post office postal box unit is a marvelous piece. It features 24 postal boxes with brass doors. All with combination locks still intact. I have the card for one of the doors detailing the combination and directions for opening. The rest of the doors can be opened via screwdriver from the back of the unit. The combinations can then be opened from behind to reveal each individual code. One door is slightly different from the rest, and is pictured. Glass is intact on each door. Some oxidation. The wood framing the unit is in good shape, with some minor splitting near the bottom from its age. Is very arresting in its current condition, and would be beautiful restored. Is a great decorative piece, and would make a fabulous wine rack, especially if a bottle was placed in each box, and a combination list was provided for retrieval. ... moreSome postal notes are written on the back slots, adding to its character.
