This very unique Art Deco Style Barber/ Beauty Shop or Dental Office Sterilizer or Display Cabinet came out of an old barber shop in down town Hinton. WV. It was a one man country barber shop that you see in rural areas. You can still smell the hair products that were kept in it. It sat on the counter and is footed. It could possibly be hung if you wish. It has a nice Art Deco Design around the top and sides. The door has glass and each side has glass. There are slots in three areas for glass. There is one glass shelve present which can be moved around. It looks like this one was the only one used and it was positioned in the lower area. Most of these has two. This can be easily replaced. Antique vtg Lucien Lelong Art Deco makeup lipstick cosmetic perfume display case
Amazing survivor probably from the late 1930's or early 40's. This wonderful display case is probably for Lucian Lelong lipsticks but could also be for perfume or both really. Why I think lipstick is there are remnants of a few elastic straps inside the drawer that are about the width of a modern lipstick container. That part. The part with the Lucian Lelong name, is dirty and stained. I have not tried to clean it as it's fabric glued over wood and probably can't get wet. I just gave it a light vacuum. It lives below a frosted piece of plexiglass(a modern replacement that I had custom cut) so it won't really show. As for the rest of the piece there are no cracks or repairs to the plastic shelves or rope lucite. One small chip to the twisted rope lucite at the bottom where you can't even really see it. The base of the ... moredisplay case is gesso over wood like an antique picture frame. Wonderful cracking/crazing and patina! I added support brackets to the bottom of the case because over the years the wood loosened up. This piece is after all MASSIVE at 51" wide, 22 1/4" deep and 32" tall. I also rewired the case in the exact manor it was originally done. Currently there is no switch to turn the sockets on and off. It was probably on the cord or even built into the store display somehow. Very easy to add but I didn't want to do it up front because who knows how the final user is going to get electricity to the piece. Because of it's super fragility and the inability to disassemble(2 mirror plates are glued over some access screws) I can not offer shipping. I am centrally located in Portland Oregon and am very easy to find from every freeway. Again local pick-up only.

Vtg Art Deco Jewelry Store Watch Display Showcase Wood Curved Glass Door Cabinet
Fabulous vintage counter/table top showcase. I believe this was used in a jewelry store or department store to display jewelry or watches. It looks like a Japanese piece to me. Though I'm not sure. There are no hallmarks or manufacturer information. Made of wood. Glass on top and both sides.impressive large curved glass door in front. The frame of the door and trim of the base are lacquered in a brownish-red color. The sides may be made of walnut and I think some of the other wooden pieces used are lightweight balsa. It measures 20 1/2" tall. 18 1/2" wide and 10 1/2" deep. On the inside are 3 glass shelves.one solid, the length of the case, and two halves that are off-set and curved on the front. There is a raised platform in the bottom. The space between the top shelf and the top is 5" between the top shelf and the ... moretwo half shelves is 3 1/2" and 4 1/2" between the bottom and two middle shelves is 6 3/4" on both. The interior is lined in natural fiber paper with small square foiled flecks. The case is lightweight and rather fragile. Though still in excellent condition. There are very light spots from moisture on the interior paper, a few small tears in the inside top in the paper from nails. Light scuffs and marks on the outside from normal use. No damage on the exterior or glass. The door is a bit sticky.you have to be careful when opening and closing.the lower right corner has to be guided to keep it from binding. Thanks for looking.
