Rare Antique Wrigley Gum Country Store Display Carousel for Counter AAFA
Rare find. An authentic early 20th century Wrigley Gum Store display in the form of a revolving carousel display case that holds 5 glass paneled slots-to display lots of different packs of gum, manufactured by the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company! This great country store display item, would have obviously been placde on a counter and the gum comes out of the bottom of the glass panel-which can revolve like a"Lazy Susan" to give you a choice of gum. The stand is made of metal(zinc? with 5 original glass panels that actually lift out for easy cleaning. The stand is approx. 13" tall and has a diameter of 8" across. The carousel is signed on the inside of the piece and it reads: Patents Pending, Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. Chicago. The little paper insert is also original and place one the inside where the metal lid comes off. It gives you ... moreinstructions and directions for use. It reads that the five compartments hold twenty 5-cent packages each(you know this is an early store display-when was the last time you bought a pack of gum for 5-cents? It continues to talk about how if you use this display, your sales will double. It also gives instructions for what kind of gum to put into the slots: Wrigleys Spearmint, Doublemint, Juicy Fruit and Wrigley's P.K. Chewing Sweet(not sure that is even manufactured any longer) Anyway, when this is filled with the packs of gum, it would look sensational and very colorful. Both mounted on a metal base/bar. they are being sold*FOR PARTS/REPAIR* here are the details: The one on the left side appears to be a"newer" version, it is"locked" down with no key, and appears to have all of the inner-parts intact? It is a 10 Cent machine, and when I inserted a dime in the slot, it did turn and the coin"dropped" inside. so this machine may be operational? It DOES NOT have the key for the locked top though! Plus you get the coins inside. I hear some moving around in there,probably not a fortune, but some dimes! the one on the right side appears to be an OLDER model 10 Cent also, has the ACORN EMBOSSED GLASS. This one is MISSING THE KEY/LOCK ASSEMBLY on top, so the glass is NOT locked down. It also appears to be missing: 2-Side metal support ... morerods on the inside and maybe a metal cover piece for the dispenser wheel on the inside(see pics) this one does dis-assemble fine, and when I put it back together, and inserted a dime, it too TURNED PROPERLY and dropped the coin on the inside! Very Rare Vintage c1935 Rex Line Up Trade Stimulator. In very good condition considering its age. Complete with lock& keys. Three of a kind for your amusement 1 cent Ball Gum non payout slot machine. Five reels. Three of which are cigarettes, the other 2 are double& redouble. Packages are Camel. Old Gold, Lucky Strike, Chesterfield. Line up three of a kind cigarette packages then try to double or redouble your wager. Measure 9" tall by 5.5" wide by 5.5" long. Inside are marbles in place of gum balls. Reels move perfectly when penny is inserted but gum balls(marbles) do not come out. The only markings are on the plate on top of the machine. Any questions please feel free to ask.
